Oh, and Goldie, my mom died of Alzheimers, and my sister was diagonsed with MS seven years ago. (And I'm sure there are other posters here with family members who have been diagnosed with other unnamed chronic and incurable diseases just as worthy of funding.)
I am sorry for your loss Fedya. 
I lost my brother and sister to melanoma cancer, and there is NO national attention to melanoma cancer. There is never enough $$$ to go around for all diseases, I wish there were.
I suggest watching the recent cancer series on PBS....Cancer, the Emperor of all Maladies. Lots to learn not only about cancer but about fund raising and politicization of cancer fighting. Ken Burns was involved in the series and as usual in it both entertaining and educational.
