I read a quote from Capers in a JSO piece that since week 4, the Packers are #1 vs the rush. I think they have shown marked improvement as well, and as you pointed out, Raji plays a large (pun intended) part.
Doesn't hurt that Big Grease has found the fountain of youth, and is playing remarkably well.

Packers are getting some pressure, but haven't been able to collapse the pocket regularly. The hell of it is, our sacks tend to be on early downs, and then they allow at 10-15+ yard play to convert a third down.
Unfortunately, I think Clay will be sorely missed. I'll pray for the best, but prepare for the worst.

Outside linebacker Erik Walden has just one sack, but he's second on the team with 14 quarterback pressures.

So I don't get where Walden "is the worst at rushing the passer". If anything, he has had a handful of rushes where he is literally a blink away from the QB when the ball is thrown.

"The worst at rushing the passer" is coming from people who aren't paying attention... Same goes for the people who look at Raji and think he isn't playing well.

- Raji isn't a stat guy. He's not going to have big sacks or tackles. His job is to clog holes and tie up blockers so the LBers can make plays. If you're looking for Raji to have big numbers you'll continue to be disappointed. GB is ranked 10th against the run this season and made Arian Foster look like a JV player. Raji is a big part of that.

Didn't Raji sit that game with an injury?

I'm not trying to be a jerk.. I just think his value to the team is exaggerated a bit. He hasn't played at an all pro level the past 2 season in my humble opinion.

Yeah it was Pickett who played amazing vs Houston

I don't think his value in the run game is exaggerated. He's a big part of the Packers success against the run and in general, the Packers defensive line have all been solid versus the run.

I know you don't typically think of Raji as a stat guy but in 2010 he had 8 sacks and 51 total QB pressures. In 2011, he had just 23 pressures with 3 sacks. So far this year, he has 6 total pressures.

If the Packers want to improve the pass rush Raji is going to have to be a part of it.

With Perry out for the year and with Matthews out for a few weeks I would expect to see Dom do a little more blitzing to create pressure.

I would rather have another running back than activate Quarless. Guy is useless as a receiver. I know some of you like his blocking...

I have to say Crabtree is slowly forming into a real solid TE. This is what his third or fourth year? Chmura wasn't great early on either and I'm not calling Crabby another Chewy but I am pleasantly suprised and his contributions so far this year. Used to just be a "blocker" but now has proven worthy of adding to the passing game.
