Now that I'm drunk and bitter.

Yeah, Penn State, you fukk kids.

Lion Pride.

I note your use of the present tense.  Penn State presently fukks kids.

I know nothing of the present Penn State program.  Nothing of the morality of its coaches, players, trainers, whatever.

In that absence of knowing, I sure wouldn't want to presume onto them having some attitude of justification of Penn State's past.  Much less of presently being the same vile program as it was.

On top of this you characterize the present Penn State team (in addition to fukking kids) as taking pride in such a program.

Congrats to the most vile post in the history of timesfour.

I think you are being a little too dramatic

Near the end of the game the main announcer stated this was a step forward "in the healing process"

i thought that was a pretty outrageous statement considering all of the abuse and subsequent cover ups.  In theory, the NCAA should have thrown the book at them and suspended the football program but oh well. Lion Pride!!

I thought the "healing process" narrative was overdone also, I mean, good for PS that they won the game, but this has next to nothing to do with the legacy the program still carries with Paterno's horrific management.   That will only be "healed" through giving back to the community and positive behavior from the players, not wins and losses.

I agree though, Keil is a horrible person, but we knew that already.

Penn State saw the weakness, exploited it, and won by doing it. It's a disappointing end to what has been a fine season, but to piss away a 28-7 lead is even harder to take. It was all going their way- then the offense tanked and the defense collapsed. It just means they're not there, and it's Ok- they weren't supposed to be here anyway.

The program needs playmakers in the passing game and a QB that can get the ball there.

Yeah I don't understand why winning helps Penn St heal? I don't even think they need to heal, there were a lot of Penn St fans and alumni that don't think Paterno did anything wrong at all. Penn St fans aren't victims. All this does is help PSU's recruiting, I guess that aspect healed. Bong is right though, if they want to help the community heal then they need to be out their making a positive impact and showing that Paterno's culture is gone.

They pissed away the Ohio State game as well.  That wasn't as big of a meltdown but they just couldn't close the deal and should have.  Ironically, Penn State benefitted big time by UW beating up the Bucks the previous week as they were not sharp the following week in Happy Valley.

The two plays that will stand out to me from last night are the missed FG and also the wide open bad pass to 81 who could have walked into the EZ.  They make either play and they likely win the game.

I was disappointed last night but woke up today with a different perspective.  No one even expected this team to be here (10-3) so tough  to be really critical of the team right now.  If you told me at the beginning  of the year this team would be in a position for a Jan 1 or Jan 2 game I would have been estatic.

Chryst has this team headed in the right direction.  They need a couple of more playmakers at the skill positions but they return a lot of guys next year and should be in the mix again.

As to the game, my participation here is unfortunately impacted by financial concerns causing me to not have a regular tv package for which reason I did not see the game, which stinks.

But, I follow along (online gametracker) and at a high level, it's quite a surprise to me that the defense starting late second half statistically fared so far below how it performed basically the entire season.

More than 200 lettermen petition PSU to return Joe Paterno statue

Joe Paterno most certainly knew of Sandusky's actions yet didn't stop them. How many more boys were raped because of Paterno's inaction? And these people want his statue back?

That's vile, not my Cabernet-addled post.

Good day, sir.

Yes, it is vile.  But, I hope you are not suggesting "If A, then not B."

A = what you just shared here.

B = you cabernet addled post.

Regarding B, you wrote that the Penn State program presently fukks kids and they are proud.

I'm cool agreeing to disagree.  I think your post was bad in the extreme which is the only reason I responded as I did (and who wrote it had no impact on my responding).

I was completely appalled.  I just don't see it as right to unjustly accuse anyone of fukking kids and being proud of it in the absence of some exceptionally strong support for the assertions.

Signing out...

I was at the game last night and I now officially have a most hated big ten fans.  One of the worst was the girl from Penn State fan almost push my wife over and started talking crap with her.  I saw to it she was escorted out of line.

The rest of them were stumbling around and just being a bunch of d bags.

Anyhow as far as the game in person a couple of thoughts.  Houston looks like he has a hard time reading the defense.  And should had a couple of easy tds.

Early on the UW was really aggressive but once they stopped PSU got rolling.

And McSorely just seem to chuck the ball up and soneone would catch it. And the Badgers DBs were pretty bad though.

I was very bitter on Sunday morning after going to the game (the hangover didn't help either BTW).  but after thinking about it and reading your post and others I have been feeling better.

I think that Chyst has this program going in the right direction and I will go as far to say I think he will be even better than the coaches that came before him.  If he gets some receivers in there I really think he will be much more balanced on offense going forward.  10-3 with the schedule they played this year is nothing to be ashamed about.  Sure they blew 3 games by a total of 21 points but it was to 3 top 5 teams.  Now one thing I am a little tired of is the fact that they just cant seem to win the big games but I think that is starting to change.

The pass to 81 and the FG happened right in front of me and man Houston missed one bad.  Like I said in the previous post it looked like he hears foot steps quickly and wasn't reading the defense well enough.  And I still say that PSU did the Vikings thing when Moss broke in.  they chucked the ball up and the bigger receivers came down with the ball.  I don't know what it looked like on TV but in person?  he would chuck up wounded ducks and the receivers would come down with it.

Some observations from the game in section 220.

Penn State fans CANNOT hold their beer.  I heard about 100 comments from UW fans saying "I remember my first beer"  Some PSU fans are just rude and almost Philly like and I would guess some would be from there.  And trust me I am not one to care if fans are drunk I was well on my way to a hangover myself.

It seemed like every time Clement got hot they took him out. Penn State fans were even baffled by it.

4th and 1 call was a SLOW developing play.  Up until that point the blocking was pretty good on that drive.

Houston looked like he was skittish in the pocket and they never challenged PSU at all in the passing game even though receivers did get open on them.

McSorley is going to be praised for that game but man he did get lucky on a few occasions with just chucking it up for his receivers.

PSU's energy especially in the 2nd half was 100 times more than UW.  The team, the fans, and even the band.  UW in the second half was just lethargic and quiet.
