The last word in draf ted... is Ted
Of the draftees:
Most excited about - Adams
Least excited about - Goodson/Rodgers
Sleeper - really like Janis and have for some time now, intriguing upside
The Packers have issued jersey numbers to all of their draft picks:
WR Davante Adams -- 17
S Ha Ha Clinton-Dix -- 21
CB Demetri Goodson -- 39
C Corey Linsley -- 63
WR Jeff Janis -- 83
WR Jared Abbrederis -- 84
TE Richard Rodgers -- 89
LB Carl Bradford -- 91
DT Khyri Thornton -- 94

Abby got screwed
Going back to the early-90's of jersey numbers (Scrappy white WR #84, pass rush LB #91). Better keep Rodgers away from the hot tub parties.
Bradford with a DL number?
Love, love, love this draft! Wanted Ha Ha, a top ten receiver (Adams), a mean tough LB (Bradford) and hoped for one of Abe or Janis, and got both. The center is strong, a legit center, decent backup to Tretter... the CB as a 6th is big for a corner, athletic as hell, a super developmental corner... and even the most criticized pick, the TE once I saw his tape, I think he can be a very solid middle of the field, move the chains kind of guy that Aaron will trust to hold onto the ball. Don't need home runs from the TE with all the WR depth. Janis is my super sleeper, better measurables than almost any receiver in the draft, hard worker, solid character... I've been very critical of TT so I want to go on record now, before the pads go on, that I love this draft.
84 was Carroll Dale's number. Good hands, good route runner with average speed.
Abby.
Maybe he's not a fan of
21 - WR Brandin Cooks
He will make Rodgers look better than he actually is, which will be a welcome break from Rodgers making Nelson and Boykin look better than they are.
No linebacker/safety can stop the 49ers and the Hags better than multiple doses of 6 or so 1st downs in a row followed by TDs.
I really wonder if TT would've taken Cooks over Ha-Ha. Remember the Saints traded up, 1 slot in front of Green Bay to get Cooks.
crown him

It wouldn't surprise me. New Orleans trading up in front of GB suggests they may have thought so, although I wonder if they were really trying to get in front of Philly, and went a little further because they had a trading partner in Arizona. Cooks seems like a Chip Kelly kind of player to me.
Either way, I'm really glad TT got Ha Ha. He's getting pretty good reviews up in Packer Country. Johnny Gray seems to think Hyde and Ha Ha are going to be the starters by the opener.
I'll believe it when I see it but having Burnett as a "backup" (non-starter) doesn't bother me. Burnett is going to play a lot this year, provided his broken toenail on his pinky toe doesn't flare up again.
Here's a defense you may see on obvious passing downs
CMIII | Datone Jones | Mike Daniels | Peppers
----->> ??? MLB or Raji or House ????<<-----
T. Williams | Heyward | Hyde | Ha-Ha | Burnett | Shields
Anyone have any problems with that alignment?
I think you have to play obvious passing downs a little different early in the year. If GB can apply pressure with 4, great. Have to get the ball out of the QBs hands fast though with the new rules. Nothing worse than drives staying alive because of a tricky tack illegal contact flag that happens when theQB has time.
Maybe add Mike Neal to the mix & rush 5.

They HAVE to get pressure with those 5 players on 3rd & 9 or longer. Plus you still have 6 in (dime) coverage.
Sounds good on paper anyway
This is where a guy like Bradford could work great if he can push to get PT inside.
Bullough, Skov... jesus ****, SOMEBODY to play MLB.
Skov has been released by the Niners.
Any interest?
The Niners have a guy starting in place of Bowman, in front of Borland. Can't think of his name right now. Number 57. Guy is a terror in the run game, lacking in what they call the coverage skills. When Bowman is back that's the kind of guy I'd like to see TT go all out for.
Based on Cutler carving that secondary to shreds in the second half with two gimpy receivers I have to think Balke is willing to listen to DB/ILB trade offers.
kinda hate the thought of doing a deal with the devil...

Heyward for Wilhoite? DONE!
I liked Shayne Skov before the draft. He's a highly instinctive LB and hits like a truck. He has an injury history though and didn't seem to every regain his speed after his knee injury. I always thought he was a Des Bishop type player (Bish was no speedster), but obviously Skov is a little rough around the edges as a player. To me he's worth a look on the PS, but what do I know.
