Rodgers looks in mid-season form. Looks ALOT like our 2011 offense.

Unfortunately ( and yes I realize it's a practice), looks a lot like our 2011 defense as well. Rodgers with essentially zero pressure. Keep in mind though, it's our #2 D.

Packers run defense continues to look good tonight. DJ Smith another nice tackle.

AJ Hawk being sent on a couple blitzes. Would have sacked Coleman.

Harrell only in for a couple plays. Then replaced by Coleman.

with expanded roster, expect to see player 60-90 tonight and not much from players 1-40

Perry with 2 pressures during that last sequence.. On one, Coleman just left the pocket early.

Again, realizing this is just a practice, with Perry not facing Bulaga for once he got a couple decent pressures where you saw him getting into the backfield.

I'm sure he's thrilled to finally not be facing someone else.

Watching it live on Fox 25 from LaCrosse. Good plays by Finley and Driver. Love the whole team Lambeau Leap.

Driver with a 20+ yard pass play. Guy looks like he's in his mid-twenties. Has had a nice TC.

Ar12 is amazing.. That over the shoulder pass to DD was perfect.. No defense for that.

Holding

Nice TD pass from Rodgers to Jennings. Jennings with excellent route running. Was blanketed and Rodgers stepped up and threw it where only Jennings could catch it.

Makes it look so so easy.

Perry looks like a guy trying to sort out all the responsibilities he's being asked to handle in a new position. He backed out of a rush and recognized a dump off pretty fast though.

When he simply goes for the QB you see flashes of a freak of nature. It's a lot of power wrapped around a lot of speed. He was held on one play and forced the throw away on the next.

Then again he wasn't going against Bulaga.

Datko is no match for Perry.

Kuhn just interviewed. Says he's ready to go. Feels great and should be back by Monday.

Worthy just SMOKED Deitrich-Smith. Would have been a 4-5 yard loss. Exactly the kind of play you would expect from Worthy. Great move right at the snap.

Two things stand out so far: Penalties and poor backup QB play. Neither was an issue last year. #Packers

Packers has had several offsides tonight. Young DL very eager. Obviously too eager at times.

Masthay good night punting. Just kicked one from the 45. Downed at the 1.

I was hoping Harrell was going to look a little better.

Harrell with a stronger arm. But looks tenative. Willing to take the checkdown more then he should. If you compare how Flynn was in his 3rd year vs Harrell, it's not close. Flynn was much further ahead.

Harrell not responding well to pressure vs #2 defense. Francios has been in his face multiple times. Throws it away or poor passes. He almost got picked just now.

Glad CHI didn't draft him. He could look rediculous opposite Peppers in their D.

Harrell is what he is, a career backup with a limited ceiling. I honestly wasn't expecting a whole lot out of him this camp.

Newhouse walking in to locker room early with 2 medical trainers along side him. Looked ok. No limping or anything. But never a good sign when those are your escorts.

The article H5 posted earlier sums it up perfectly. If you have an elite QB and you build a team around him to compete for the SB every year, you are pretty much screwed if he misses an extended period of time. You might groom a backup for a year or two. But he's leaving at some point if he shows promise.

That's the simple truth of salary cap football circa 2012.

It is not even a salary cap issue really. A larger salary cap is not feasible. Player costs were growing much faster than revenues were, that is one of the reasons we had the lockout. Having a larger cap doesn't mean the money is actually available.

The problem is that 32 NFL teams is too many.

Biggest observation. Pray nothing happens to Not trying to be Capt Obvious but there is nothing close to a Matt Flynn behind him.

Hoping Harrell/Coleman look much better in pre-season but not holding my breath.
