Good win.
Sean Payton messed up with the Taysom Hill play. As Collinsworth said, that was the play of the game.

Great discipline there
Satisfying.

3-0. Rodgers playing like an MVP. Donât give it to Russell just yet. Beating the Vikes and Saints on the road isnât easy.
I don't know. It's only 3 weeks but I think Wilson would need to get injured to not get the MVP this year.
Its a strange f'ing season for sure, but winning at MN and NO to start the season is big time.

And Josh Allen might be in the mix if he can keep it up.
What a game.
So let's say they somehow recover that onside kick. Can you leave Brees in the game to get you a TD in that amount of time? They would need to bench him and put in Winston or Hill.
Did Gary get hurt? Didnât see him in the 2nd half.
Is Jack Chris's son?

I think he's going to cool off. Wilson should have even better numbers than he has right now.

Yep.
I'll be damned...
Defense takes a lot of shit, but if I'm not mistaken, they pitched three 3-and-outs and the game changing turnover against a really good team.
Worst 16-3 team ever?
I think not.
Wilson is playing very very well this year.
This. Packer fuckin defense is going to give me a coronary.
Ok, the post game is on and they are interviewing #12. NOW you can throw the dagger...
Solid win. Obviously lots of defensive issues, but the biggest change in the entire team over the last 2 years is closing out games. D may not be pretty for 55 minutes, but 5 good minutes is enough to win the game. That wonât carry them to a SB, as we saw last season, but this team knows how to win.
A win in a very tough place to win. Great start to the season, even though they like to cause gray hairs to get there.
Two empty domes out the way.
I like the early draw.
Hats off to Ty Summers for coming in and not letting the defense completely fall apart when Kirksey left.
Keep resting Kenny so he's full steam ahead when it counts. I can live with ugly defense for now.
With the bye in Week 5, do you sit Clark and Adams next week vs ATL? That would give them 3 more weeks to fully recover.
Rest KC and D. Adams next Monday.
Just gotta outscore Atlanta.
Atlanta may lead for awhile, but I think the Packers can pull out a win in the end.
I'm a little late here because I was at a friends house watching the game. Did anyone else catch Collingsworth saying the Packer D is built for a shootout? I took that as the Packers D gives up a lot of points... WTF?
Hard to be happy with the defense but it's also Brees and Kamara with Payton calling plays. And tackling has ben bad across the league, likely due to the lack of a normal offseason and preseason. Plus Clark was out.
That's a big road win.

There were multiple plays were the Packers showed blitz early and Brees changed the call and the Pack D still appeared to come with the same blitz. On the other side, the Saints defense changed several times as AR changed the call.
But the Pack still won.
The Packers defense needs an on-field maestro calling the plays at inside LB.
Kirksey might be that guy, but Ty Summers isn't there yet.
BTW, nice job by Keke Kingsley tonight.

I think they need to be 90% (minimum) to play next week. I wonder how much of Kenny's partial practice participation was legit and how much it was to give the Saints something to prepare for that they could have ignored.
@antooo posted:Collinsworth later expanded on that notion, saying that the Packers are strong in the secondary and edge rushers, but not so much at inside linebacking
Yeah, and that's been the case since 1992 when Favray "arrived". IF you take a moment out to think about it - it makes sense from a team- building POV
When you have a HOF QB as the Packers have since 1992, it means that cornerbacks and quarterbacks are the key components in winning the game. Pass defenders and pass rushers are the positions that have the most value when you're playing that style of football. Joe Whitt said as much when he was coaching DBs in Titletown.
"Packers cornerbacks coach Joe Whitt doesnât think the formula in Green Bay is a complicated one. âIâve mentioned many times, if the quarterbacks and cornerbacks play well, we win. Ok?â Whitt said on Wednesday. âWe have a chance to win Super Bowls if those two groups play well.â
ILBs don't matter as much for that style. If you are a team that dominates in the run game and a tough defense like the Ravens, then an ILB has a greater positional value. (Although we did just watch the Chiefs run the Ravens out of the stadium and the Ravens HOF ILB, Patrick Queen and his 4 tackles were completely irrelevant to the outcome. )
So for the style of football the Packers play with a HOF QB, positional value of an ILB just isn't very high. The other component of having a HOF QB on your team is that he is eating a big chunk of salary cap - and in a zero sum game you have to be very strategic in how you allocate your limited resources. Spending /drafting cornerbacks and pass rushers will always supersede spending/drafting MLBs.
None of this is new, its been going on for nearly 3 decades and more than 300 wins in Titletown. I'm still hopeful that even the meatiest of the meat-heads will eventually figger it out. I wouldn't bet on it, but I'm hopeful.
