Blind squirrel and all that...
I did switch off. Not exactly captivating. I have streaming to do. What happened?

I wasn't paying that much attention before the final drive, but McStoopidFace won. 4th down TD pass from a few yards out a couple of plays after some Steelers dude jumped over the line like a missile forcing a fumble that Dal recovered. There was some ensuing silliness with trying to block the point after by jumping offsides twice in a row.
I am happy enough that I don't have to care about McCarthy's clock management anymore. Jerruh seemed happy.
Did rewatch after reading this board. Football is a great sport, isn't it?
A couple of wild-ass conjectures I'd like to get some opinions on:
Suppose MLF had Fields as his starting QB.
It could be in Green Bay, Pittsburgh, or anywhere else.
Do you think MLF could consistently game plan for him each week (similar to Willis) that would win them 10-11-12 games?
Same scenario, but it's Dak this time.
He would seem to have many advantages over Fields, but could you see him making an actual SB run, or (gasp!) winning one?
Keep in mind Trent Dilfer did...
With the right defense, I think so.
I'm a big believer in... I don't know... chaos? The butterfly effect? 3-body problem? Statistics? Like if you could run the season a trillion times, literally every QB in the league would win a Super Bowl probably a million times over at least.
I'm also a big believer in the movie Trading Places... ya know, a nature versus nurture thing which I think landed on "a little from column A, a little from column B" (in Simpsons parlance).
What all that means is that I believe that it's at least possible for DeShaun Watson and Allen Lazard to get traded to Mike McCarthy's Cowboys and win the Super Bowl and also be co-MVP for both the season and Super Bowl.
So you'd better believe I think MLF could win with those two clowns under the right circumstances.
@SteveLuke posted:I was there. It was 28-0. It took a fluke muff on a punt return to give GB life.
The Vikes also took the proverbial foot off the gas, and to the Packers credit they came back. But when it got to a 1 score game (28-22) the Vikes toyed with the D yet again and effortlessly drove for the game sealing FG.
The Vikes also chose not to kick a FG and just ran the ball to kill clock before the Pack drove 90+ yards on their final drive to make the final score appear closer.
Love you Tundra and your disdain of all things Purple (I'm right there with you), but that was a beat down.
(That said, if Jordan gets healthy, I think we can score on that D in Minneapolis in December. I have no such confidence in our D or field goal kicker holding up their ends of the bargain).
I'll disagree with you, a bit. The Packers getting some life, by getting 7 points off a muffed punt is what football is all about. The fact that the score should have been 28-20 at the end of the 1st half was all due to our Kicker missing two FGs and a TD catch nullified. Those missed scores had nothing to do with the vikings taking their foot off of the gas. It was the Packers shooting themselves in the foot. I do agree, that the game we play the vikings, in Minneapolis, will see a different outcome. The vikings should be into their implosion, by then and their stadium should see a lot of Green and Gold in it. Our Kicker supposedly has changed something, in the way he plants his foot, and looked good yesterday. It's our D that Hafley has to figure out. I want a full game effort from our D, and none of this Dinglebarry look-alike crap, where we decide not to play well, until the 2nd half. GO PACK, GO!!!
Hafley is still mostly playing basic alignments - at least in first halves. There are a lot of moving pieces to this transition.
New DC.
New scheme.
90% of the players only know 34 coming into this season.
I'm guessing Hafley and Gute won't have a real good handle on what the D can be until later in the season, possible offseason. We'll know by how much D roster turnover we see next spring.
Right now they're just doing what they can with what they've got.
Well then they should’ve found a coordinator that specializes in the 3-4. I don’t feel like going through yet another defensive rebuild
When did that game end last night?? 1 AM East coast time? We were watching on Peacock....because the game ran over peacock switched off the game to some other bullshit.
great job Peacock 🦚 👏🏼 The New Heidi game
Wifey switched back to NBC to finish watching the game.

At the end of the day, it's football. Sure, assignments change with each defense but this isn't rocket science we're talking about here. They had the whole off season to fine tune concepts and alignments. Besides, I'm sure the majority of players on defense have played both the 3-4 and 4-3 throughout HS and college prior to getting in the NFL.
Dak, the only QB in NFL history to throw 2 INTs in the same game... on different days.
"sub par throw...sub par tonight". Guess the star receiver isn't happy with Dak..

Given the recent performances by our QB1, I'm not going to throw shade at anyone's QB...outside of KARK!
No at KC is off to a wild start.
Carr heaves a prayer (I thought it was a weak attempt to throw it away), INT by the Chefs.
Returned for a TD, but ruled down by contact.
Mahomes promptly diced and sliced the Aints defense for the TD.
BTW, a Jaamal Williams sighting. Plays for NO.

Gutekunst didn’t draft 3-4 edge guys, so it was probably inevitable.
Chiefs took a 2 amd 34 to a 3 and 22 to a 4 and 1. Converted the 4th down to stall out and have to kick a FG
And now after allowing that the Saints completely f up the kickoff and the. Go 3 and out.
Watching NO tonight, I'm wondering how they got off to that hot start this year.
Carr looks awful, and defense is weak.
Mahomes threw a bomb that was 100% uncatchable but of course KC gets bailed out with a PI call. Good to see the league is in full mid season KC form
LMFAO - tipped ball and Colin Saunders returns the INT on Mahomes to the 37 yard line
THICC PICK 😳
rumble young man rumble
Carr will either turn it right back or go 3 and out.
Big fella with ball.
I've seen numerous games vs. the Chiefs. This drive. This is how you beat them. Keep that KC defense on the field and move the chains.
That chunk play bullshit doesn't work. You gotta wear them out & we saw it last year on Sunday Night in Lambeau. Keep moving the chains and the chunk plays will come.
Saints hang around.
Boom BITCH!!
FOSTER EFFING MOREAU.
....then the kicker missed the X-tra Point unbelievable
I used to like the Mannings, but now, it's just tired.
Christ.....I feel like I'm watching the 2023 Packers vs the Giants. Great defense Saints
Nothing like a good house blitz. Hear that, Hafley?
Damn.....4th down....Chiefs brought 8. Carr threw a perfect pass but the rookie let it go through his hands. Tough catch sure but one you have to make in this league
The Chiefs finished 2nd in scoring defense in 2023 in winning their most recent Lombardi and they are in the top 5 again in 2024.
Much like New England with Brady at QB, KC has apparently decided that building a top defense around the best QB in the game is how you win Super Bowls.
What a novel concept.

And having the league wanting you to win a three-peat.
