Poor ol' RG3...

He was never going to be a great QB, but I think he was athletic enough to be a good one.

RatFace Bastard ruined any chance he may have had, and I hope letting him play on that knee/leg in the layoff game damns that franchise forever. Snyder, team docs, RatFace...they all sold their souls to the devil. Even his agent should've been protesting vehemently. RG was too stupid to know any better.

And DH13 is right, this was just a small snippet of the constant clusterf**k that is the Redskins. That team has been devoid of any real talent for many years. They were in poor shape before they drafted RG, poorhsape after they drafted him, and will likely be in poor shape in the near future.

Tsk.

Love Wisconsin football, and love the Wisconsin running backs.  Huge Ron Dayne fan.  But it seems pretty clear to stay away from Wisconsin RBs for one major reason--mileage.  They get a ton of carries at the UW and I really think by the time they get to the NFL their bodies are pretty worn down and they start getting injured easily.  Ball hasn't really been healthy since he got in the NFL, and it appears Gordon is going through some of that.  Fletcher has really been the one exception so far.

Lacy is what I always hoped Dayne would be.

One major difference between Dayne and Lacy is that Lacy has some shiftiness that Dayne never had.

Dayne's thing was to maybe make 1 step to the left or right depending on the hole, and then just plow forward as fast as he could.  Especially in college behind a great offensive line, Dayne was so strong and fast for his size that he could get momentum going through the hole and once he got going he was a load for college LBs and DBs to get down.

In the NFL, the LBs are just too good for a guy to power right over them directly on a consistent basis, you at least need to have some shiftiness to avoid constant direct hits.  Guys like Adrian Petersen, Eddie Lacy, they do certainly take some direct hits, but they have some lateral quickness that allows them to slide left or right that allows them to get past those NFL LBs.  Dayne just didn't have enough lateral quickness to consistently succeed in the NFL.  Some of it was wear and tear, but some of it was just a lack of quickness that didn't let him become a good NFL RB.

The latest version of Dayne was Trent Richardson who had a similar issue, he just didn't have enough shiftiness to consistently succeed in the NFL.

Barry used Dayne like a rented mule.....my theory is all rbs have so many hits in them. A few like Payton and Emmitt have a unusual make up and last for yrs.  Others like Brockington have a shorter span and drop off quickly. I think most of Daynes hits were used up in Madison.  JMO.

RE: UW RBs v Lacy wear and tear.

Dayne had 250+ carries each of his 4 years at UW.

Ball had 300+ carries his Jr & Sr seasons.

Fletcher didn't exceed 200 carries until his Sr season.

Lacy had 355 total at AL.

According to some Denver press Ball is fighting with RB Kapri Bibbs for the last RB roster spot on Thursday.  The two will split carries and play a lot on special teams.  He started the season as RB2 but has fallen during camp.

As much as I enjoyed watching Ball play at Wisconsin, I am so glad Denver took Ball and left Lacy for the Pack.

Good stat. Lacy seems motivated as hell this year to take his game to another level. I was at practice on his birthday. He took the day off from drills and worked exclusively with a trainer doing nothing but running - the whole day. Heard him say in an interview after that he wants to make big yards in that second level. I can't wait to see it.

Watching last part of Jets/Iggles and Lord does Tebow suck. Bad footwork, bad throwing motion (though better than it was) , bad at feeling pressure in the pocket, bad at reading the defense, not very accurate and throwing wounded ducks, yet NFL Network postgame opens up with lead announcer in full nutsuck while Brian Billick nicely corrects him and bites his tongue a fair amount..

Nice halftime interview with Jim Tomsula tonight. He was searching for words while moving his hand back and forth like he was trying to saw a jello mold with a whiffle ball bat.

We get 16 weeks of him at a minimum.

Well at least the agent isn't saying GB (yet)

@VicLombardi: Broncos and Cowboys discussing a deal for Montee Ball.

@CowboysNation: Yes please.

@RapSheet: @CowboysNation not true

Welcome back to Tebow mania.  How long before the Tebow fanatics are calling for him to start?  Two Sam Bradford picks?  Maybe 3?  I bet Mark Sanchez is pretty stoked about this…..

And Ball just sucks.  I think the one thing that makes or breaks RBs in the NFL is ability to hit the right hole with enough force – an issue for Richardson, Ball, Dayne, etc.  Crazy that there isn’t some drill that can’t quantify this.  This sounds stupid but this would totally work: have RBs run from different formations (stretch, inside handoff, off tackle, etc.) and there would be a bunch of padded tackling dummies that would randomly light up as the RB is running, which represents the “hole” they need to hit.  When it lights up (and they don’t know which one will), they have to hit that pad as hard as possible, mimicking the RB hitting the hole.  Imagine a stretch play with a RB running toward the sidelines then a dummy lights up, he cuts and hits the dummy as hard as possible from 1-5 yards out, depending on the play.  The dummy would then measure force (mass x velocity squared) as well as speed to hit that hole.  With the pads lighting up at random, it would help measure decisiveness too.  Yes, it wouldn’t measure vision to identify the hole but it would give you a solid metric to know who hits the hole fastest and hardest.  Who cares if you’re 250 lbs with a 4.2 forty if takes you too long to actually get to the hole.

Who’s on board with me?  We can present to the NFL during the offseason in time for the combine.  We’d make millions…..

One of Marshawn's best friends from time together in Buffalo.

@RapSheet: Former #Bills RB Fred Jackson has agreed on a one-year deal to join the #Seahawks, source said. He joins tag-teamer #Beastmode
