John Dorsey's Chiefs just traded a back-up safety to Schneiders' Seahawks, they may be concerned about enough depth for game 1 with Chancellor still holding out

Also McAdoo's Giants are making a play for Schneider's Safety, Kam Chancellor

Alleged trade talks leaked by one side or the other...or two old friends just squeezing the standoff

Along these lines, I was thinking maybe "change of pace" to the Packers only means change of blocking schemes too.

Yep, classy move by the Bengals. There may be hope for them yet.

Well, except they have a soulless ginger as their QB, but baby steps.

Neal's a good player

But the up tempo offense kills the utility of a pass- catching 3rd down type RB.

Packers won't sub down- by- down... they go series- by- series as much as they can

They seem to want bigger dudes who can block in pass pro and handle an occasional check down. Did you see Alonzo Harris fightin the ball in preseason ? Looked like Roberto Duran out there. Neal is much better at catching, but apparently the Packers don't put as much value in that skill. Rodgers wants to go downfield

Since GB doesn't have maulers on the OL; maybe they want bigger RBs who can win in short yardage. 237 lbs is a big dude.

I think its also a nod to next year when they replace Starks. Maybe they'd rather have Harris in that spot than Neal ?   They were looking for a guy to be RB3 in 2015 and to ascend to RB2 in 2016.

And since Harris is dinged up, urgency wasn't part of the decision. Long term they liked Harris better than Neal even though there are areas where Neal is better

That offers some hints at what the Packers value in a RB

What Satori said. One of TT's best assets is the way he's thinking ahead like a good chess player. Example: drafting Ringo, a Mike Daniels type. He's got three future free agents on his DL, and if one is too expensive (like Daniels seems to think at $8 million) he'll let him go, take the compensatory draft pick and move in the young guy. I'm sure they made Ringo aware of his opportunity, which is why he stayed on our practice squad.

Dallas traded a conditional 7th for Christine Michael, a former Seahawks second-rounder. Michael is closing in on the end of his rookie deal, but always looked like a very strong runner when getting the chance, averaging 5.1 YPC. Then they signed Fred Jackson to replace him.

It makes me wonder if the guy is a major turd and/or just won't pass block (or similar). Guy looks like a better runner than anyone on their roster now.
