Hockenson was drafted by the Lions!

Hockenson was drafted by the Lions!
@SteveLuke posted:Probably should not mention it here, but I think Jameson Williams, Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison, and TJ Hockenson were all drafted in round 1.
And I may be mistaken but the Eagles spent a 1st round pick on DeVonta Smith and traded a 1st for AJ Brown.
Just weird, weird allocation of resources.
The Packers spent the equivalent of a first, two #2s, on a receiver with suspect hands and durability, when they could have stood pat and got a good deep threat AND a much-needed safety.
I had hopes for Van Ness, but they gone.
Unbelievable offsides call on Minnesota! They should have known the Lions were going to try to draw them offsides!
Glad Goff gets to be in the ref huddle.
TD GIBBS!!! #4 TONIGHT.
Is that a dagger to the scrotum?
SKOLOL

Thought the same. Going to make a good meme
Can a dagger have an even bigger dagger?
Can't wait to hear Farrington. But he always expected a meltdown.

Maybe this upcoming draft will have the Packers with a higher pick than where we have been picking from the past few years.

Week 1 in September.
@fightphoe93 posted:Obviously I donβt admire the Vikings, but I do admire their defensive edge rushers. They are so much more versatile and agile than our one trick ponies like Gary and Van Ness. Maybe Van Ness can watch some films of Van Ginkel in the offseason and learn a trick or 2? Probably not, but I can dream.
Ouch!
Darnold limping.

When your D is in even more need of talent than your WRs, this is what happens. Gute may have gotten so used to TT drafting #1WRs after RD1 that he thought he could just as easily do the same. Oops.
As I said in the other thread, WTF is O'Connell doing leaving Darnold, Hockenson, Jefferson, and Addison in a game down 31-9 with 5 minutes left?
And now Darnold is limping?
Minny is not recovering from this. They had every chance to break this game their way in the 1st half. They didnβt. Now Darnold is limping after taking a beating. Insane job by Glenn coaching their D up.
Glenn is a magician

Jennings, Nelson, Driver, and Adams were all outstanding, but only Adams was really a superstar WR. Every one of them, including Adams, looked a lot better than they were when every pass thrown to them was coming from Favre or Rodgers. Jennings was not good when he was in Minnesota or Miami. Nelson was terrible with the Raiders. Love is decent, but he's not Favre or Rodgers.
Nice punch out, but it is ruled incomplete.
How was that not a catch and fumble?!?!?!
and that was the gawd receiver Jefferson??? Noβ¦β¦right??
Is this one of those "revenge" games for Zadarious Smith?
Well, there's certainly something to be said about these Lions. Not sure what exactly, but there has to be something.
Darnold looks good, laying on the turf.
Aaron Glenn goes zero blitz up 31-9 late in the 4th. MLF needs to see what all gas, no brake actually looks like.
Sam Darnold threw for 377 yards and 3 TDs against the Packers last week.
The Lions have half their defense on injured reserve and have made him look like the old Darnold.

Gutey is very good at finding above average or serviceable players in the mid to late rounds. He's not been able to find elite players, but those guys are usually gone in the first 8-10 picks. The few times he got to draft higher in the first, he took Gary and Van Ness.

Who are just ordinary or less
@Herschel posted:McDonald has looked pretty good this year, and was taken with their pick.
He's also 25 215 days
Van Ness is 23 183 days
McDonald also has 115 more snaps over his career than LVN and played in the same system both years. Also don't ask Jets fans how McDonald is against the run. We have no clue what their assignments are on any given play. McDonald could very well be better than LVN but there's more to their play than just sacks.
