Chatted with #Packers LG Lane Taylor in locker room today. After ankle surgery last offseason, he said his ankle didn't feel good through first half of last year. Big reason for his struggles in 2018. "I just didn’t have the same range of motion that I was used to," he said.

(Very) small sample alert: what little team reps there’ve been today, Billy Turner has been at RG. Could change throughout offseason, and probably will. Still, don’t think this surprised anyone.

They’re in shorts and all, but Jaire Alexander just made a nifty interception undercutting Aaron Rodgers’ pass doenfield to Marquez Valdez-Scantling. Made a great play on the ball. Yes, they’re in shorts. Back to your regularly scheduled Twittering.

It will be interesting to see how 12 takes to a change in footwork. I imagine timing is next. While he will certainly improvise here and there, I think the days of standing back there 7-9 seconds waiting for a guy to get open are likely done.
LaFleur said he is not demanding exact footwork out of his quarterbacks and is letting them use some of the footwork they used in the past. But as they advance into the next phase, he will require a change.

GB needs to replace Sitton, Lang, and Tretter. And with all due respect to Taylor GB has a shit load of heavy lifting to replace a lot of quality play at OL. And Taylor’s healed ankle isn’t it. Must do better than that. Cole and Turner help.
But this OL needs a bunch of help. Nothing sexy about OL picks until December.

exactly. those skippy throws with arm strength only may be reserved for busted plays only. his mechanics were getting lazy in the last few years, I would hope he would want to get it right.
Damn right. Because 81 TDS and 15 picks the last three years isn’t going to ****ing cut it in this league. (With missed games) That shits gotta end.
Hope he somehow gets it right.

Nothing but a bunch of ligaments and tendons that hold it all together in the ankle area. I got an education when I broke my right leg on the outside bone just above the ankle. After the doctor said the bone was healed - now go out and play - it hurt a lot. All along he was saying to stretch out the ankle - and I thought I was doing that. So I got my athletic trainer daughter on board. She said I wasn't stretching it beyond that of a natural comfort zone and that to really stretch it out would take "using it like normal". So she had me walk and told me I was babying it. Using it like normal hurt a lot more - but less so over the course of a couple weeks. Getting those ligaments and tendons stretched out enough was the key to comfort. And eventually it felt as good as new. So I can imagine what Taylor is going thru.

so you don't think rodgers can improve his game? he's the goat just as he is, because i don't. he needs to hone the craft just like all the other guys and mechanics are part of that.

100 TDs and 7 picks is much better.

Brady was still improving at 35, but Rodgers can no longer improve, apparently.
Yup, the TD:INT ratio is best all time.
But, Rodgers had accuracy issues. More so the last year than his usual play. I still remember the ~4 yard pass to an RB against Seattle. Shit, he threw the ball in the dirt and was off by 2 yards. He had a few. His % completion was lower than usual.
This just in. Rodgers played with a fracture in his leg and an MCL sprain for most of the last season.
Are we still talking about his footwork?
Rodgers is the only QB to toss 300 TDS before hitting 100 picks. He’s going to toss 400 TDs before 100. I wouldn’t dismiss 500 before 100 either.
He’s never been the problem.

I guarrantee that he will improve because Rodgers himself has said numerous times he WANTS to be coached. I of course dont know what AR thinks but I wouild bet good money that he has a burning desire to show that last year was a fluke.
100% participation in their voluntary workouts.
Brandt is very proud voluntary participation is what it is in GB. Well done Andrew.
Well, they all get workout bonuses, so....

You mean one of the years he was on IR for 2/3 of it or the other year when he nearly ran the table with 40/7 TD/INT and a 104 rating?
40 TDs. Impressive. We just had a virtual rookie throw 50. He can do better.
Yes, that 50 was typical for NFL QB's. Mahomes and the KC offense are kind of good.
No more Tyreek Hill - might be an issue for them.

Rodgers is obviously half assing it since he hasn't spliced in salamander DNA to regenerate limbs.

Daunte Culpepper looked impressive too.
I don't remember the last time we had a HC capable of this.
Matt LaFleur steps in after his first practice with the rookies. He's impressed. With himself: "I threw some good balls out there, man." LaFleur, the former Saginaw Valley State QB, stepped in and tossed to RBs today.

Last week, Matt LaFleur told the media that he "can’t help but be out there and be into the action" at practice.

Matt LaFleur is going to be hands on with the quarterbacks. Here the #Packers new head coach is working directly with UDFA QB Manny Wilkins on his drop back, something LaFleur wants done in a precise way. pic.twitter.com/fS5PYtpNsW

Its weird seeing 18 and not being Cobb
MLF should be upstairs getting a massage.
Word is he's giving them.
Are you saying this story has a happy ending?
Report: Packers sign rookie tryout WR Darrius Shepherd
Experience in both the slot and returning punts.
Cornerback Chandon Sullivan, who was recently released by the #Eagles, is signing with the #Packers today, per agents the Katz bros. He started one game for Philly last year and was a special teams contributor.
— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) May 6, 2019
The #Packers released RB Lavon Coleman, who participated in the team's rookie minicamp this past weekend. Guessing LaFleur didn't see a fit. Or Gutey needs the roster spot for one of the tryout players.

Is he Smurf enough for Johnny Z??????????????????
Camp fodder or a real shot at making the roster? Don't we have one of these in Kumerow? On the other hand, if he's any good they can stash him on the PS or jump on his ankle for an IR designation.
Looks like Gutterguts is trying to find a diamond in the rough WR in UFA...
Packers safety Josh Jones is skipping the voluntary OTAs and working out in Florida because he’s hoping to be traded, a source told ESPN. The source said the 2017 second-round pick believes it would be best for both parties if they parted ways. Story coming on ESPN shortly.

Not one of TT's better picks.
Punk
Josh Jones. what a loser mentality. "they signed better guys and I won't be able to beat them out so just let me go ply my lousy skills somewhere else."
granted, no try guy, granted.
