+ we won. We’re 8-3 in the toughest division in the NFL.
+ Jacobs, McKinney

+ Van Ness mentioned in positive manner.

- Jordan Love could have easily had three turnovers today. Luckily, he had none. He needs to freaking play better, and I’m getting a bit tired of saying that.

We won’t go anywhere in the playoffs with him being so careless.

++++ Josh Jacobs.

+++ McKinney & Gutey for going out and getting both of them.

++ The OLine dominated.

+ Doubs, Bullard, Kraft, and LVN. (Let’s all say a prayer that LVN can make some more impact plays going forward).

- Only 1 negative tonight. After the best performance of his career last week in Chicago, C. Watson can’t drop that ball, he just can’t.

+ The team/staff/fans got a good look at what type of offense the Packers need to play to be successful.  Lean on the run.

+ The late game slot combined with my nervous energy, allowed me to get a  shitload of my honey-do list accomplished.  (It will fill back up by tomorrow)

+ Plus three in turnovers.  Yes, Love had a few that coulda/shoulda been picked off, but that's how it goes.

+ Took care of a team that was ripe to lose.  If you can't beat a team that is missing it's best defensive player and starting QB, you ain't that good.

+ Cruised to a win without playing the perfect game.

- Watson's drop

- Walker's drop

+ O MVP Jacobs 106yds rushing, TD hat trick

+ D MVP McKinney 4th down stop, INT with 50yd return

+ ST MVP McManus 51 yd FG when game was close

- Love still out of sync, could've had 3 INTs

- Christian Dropson, momentum changer b4 half time, similar to Love's INT last week vs Bares.

- Drop off at CB with 28 out

- D hot and cold but...

+++ Ugly win over conference rival is so sweeeeeet!

+ Doesn’t feel like we played a great game offensively but still put up a big number.

+ Could be the start of a good run to end the season.

Negs

- The underwear draft champs showing why they are not football champs.  Quay looked like a 12 year old girl trying to catch a football.   I’m sure he can dominate in the long jump though.  Watson has horrible ball skills.

There are only 6 games left in the regular seasonâ€Ķ.. the next four are ALL AT NIGHT!!!!  I HATE NIGHT GAMES, then they end with the queens, and the bears.   Not sure about our â™Ĩïļ guy.  He is still in that throw at any cost mode.  HE DAMN NEAR HAD INT’s. AGAIN.  ðŸĪŽ ðŸĪŽ ðŸĪŽ  sometimes they’re ok, other times, they’re gonna lose games.  Ughâ€Ķâ€Ķ..

Positives:

An NFC win

Any win over SF is a good thing.  They were short handed but a win is a win in the NFL. And it put SF in to a hole to catch up in the playoff picture which I hope continues and we won't have to  face them again down the road.

I love that they ran the damn ball and stuck to it and imposed their will offensively.  Really good to see them do that and out physical a physical team for a change.

Negatives:

Watson is so streaky.  Last week he was on fire and this week he had MVS type of stone hands.

Positives

McKinney makes winning plays when the opportunity presents itself.

With the exception of maybe 1-2 throws, Love played a safe, game-manager type game. If Watson catches the perfect pass in the last minute of the first half, his stats look a lot better.

Luke Van Ness actually made a play.

Gutey knew he needed a safety and signed an all-pro.

Negatives

Walker and Watson often fail to make plays when the opportunity presents itself.

It seemed like Love was going out of his way to get the ball to Watson after the drop and it almost caused some turnovers.

Gutey should have known he needed an edge rusher and did nothing.

Biggest Minus:  I keep hoping that we’ll see Jordan Love take another step in development and move closer to being an elite QB.  He still didn’t take that step this week and unfortunately for him, the best pass he made all day was the dropped bomb by Christian Watson.

Biggest Plus:  Defense got a bunch of turnovers.  McKinney’s INT on the Deebo tipped pass was huge.

2nd biggest plus:   Josh Jacobs was incredible.  I didn’t feel like he had great blocking today, he just sort of made his own holes on a number of occasions.

He's not really streaky, he has a clear deficiency in tracking throws over his head and shoulders.

Watson struggles to track the ball in the air when he's running away from the line of scrimmage. On the catches last week, he was able to run parallel to the line of scrimmage and track the ball coming at him. He was good with the jump ball into double coverage last week because he could sit and wait for it a bit. He's good on crossing routes and fine on post patterns.

If he has to track it over his head and catch it over his shoulders, no matter easy the catch looks, he really struggles.

Concussions are the most difficult to predict as far as how quickly guys get cleared. Although players have returned the following week, as Boris pointed out I don't know if anyone has cleared in 4 days. I shudder when I think back too playing in high school and being encouraged to "lead with you head" when tackling. The goal was to get every opponents helmet color on your helmet

The missed tackles by SF in the first half being at an NFL record level was very interesting.  They were without Bosa but him being on the field wouldn't have made every other player not miss any tackles.  Was their DL just not up for the game?  Were they not prepared for tackling Jacobs?

Either way that's a huge + for the OL and JJ.  Especially considering how their D has always been more physical than our OL in the past.

Chongo had a bunker buster of a comment in the game thread.  "Love is an average QB with above average arm talent."  That's going to be really hard to get out of my head.  And will no doubt have its own thread at some point.

While it's true injuries aren't an excuse and GB won 3 games with their backup QB, Allen's mistakes were the clear differentiator in the game.  I'm not 100% convinced they beat SF if Purdy plays.

I am. They were close to blowing out the Niners in the first half until Watson dropped that gorgeous pass from our "average" QB with above average arm talent.

I knew they were going to get some takeaways, the key was always going to be...no giveaways....and they had Z-E-R-O.

The biggest loss for the Niners was LT Trent Williams. He's a huge key for the stuff they do on offense. Deebo had a rough day. Let a couple passes slip right thru his hands & on 1 of them, X was right there for the game changer INT.

Purdy isn't tackling Josh Jacobs....neither did any of the other Niners players ðŸĪðŸ˜†

A very satisfying win and I am 100% sure they win even with Purdy playing.
