Except for the interceptions, this defense doesn't look much better. But it's only game 2
MLF has no balls. A few more passes even IN COME PLEAT ! ones in the 2nd half would have loosened up the Colts D in the 3rd qtr. Then run clock in the 4th.
If loves not back we'll need to open the playbook more next week, Tennessee will be much tougher

++++ PACKERS WIN!!! Nice to see Evan Williams on the field. He recovered the onside kick and plunged the dagger with that INT at the end. INTs by McKinney, Wilson and Williams. Jacobs can run. 151 yards worth! Willis played well and better than a lot of people around here thought he would. 126.8 QB rating. 12 for 14 passing. Doubs catching that contested ball was amazing!
____ Penalties. Rasheed Walker holding nullified a TD by Jacobs. Missed FG. Fumble by Jacobs, at the goal line. Cover that ball! Quay missing an INT when it counted. Injury to Buckner looked awful.
Doesn’t matter what the details, the Pack wins. No major injuries, this is a great win,
Happy to see that Greg Olsen still has a job after being ousted by Tommy boy.

Packers left 10 points on the field. Jacobs fumble was brutal and need to make a 45 yard FG.
Watching Malik Willis’ post-game presser. Seems like a great young man, as advertised.
Just enough good to beat a team that had more bad.

+Willis did what was asked of him. Was really nervous how he would play. You could see his confidence increasing as the game went on.

Gotta put someone else in the middle other than Quay. He’s tailor-made to be a weak-side LB. In the middle he mis-diagnoses plays and/or gets caught up in the trash consistently.

This. Hopper might be good in the middle, but he's a rookie. Quay would be much better if he wasn't in the middle. He's been miscast there.
Personally I'd move Quay to weak side and put Hopper (or Wilson) in the middle, and let McKinney call the plays.
I'd go with that. McKinney has a lot of smarts.

This was supposed to be 1a or 1b on the list of differences between Bury and Hafley. Giving up more big plays but taking the ball away more too. They were in position for 4 and only got 3. Some of that was aided by IND's QB and WR's but you can only play who's on the schedule.
Second half run blocking was in the negative yardage category. I loved how MLF kept throwing misdirection and WR runs at the IND D in the first half to set up the easy throws for Willis. That was gone in the 2nd half.

Olsen really sung the praises of Tucker Kraft too.
I really like what Olsen adds to a broadcast.
It sounded like MLF went into a "let's just run it out and make the ticks go by." Against a better team, it could have easily been a loss. I wish he would have opened it up a bit in the second half with some PA, which could have still kept the throws short and safe, but lightened the box. Gotta hand it to the OL and MLF in the first half; that misdirection really helped open good holes. I wonder how many yards Jones would have gotten with space like that.
Hafley is still a rookie coordinator and calling a D. Let's see what he learns after today and how he adapts. Even coaches have a learning curve.

Very bright and well spoken young man. Hope he continues to make progress. Having a backup QB who can win, or more importantly not lose a few games throughout the season is extremely valuable. With these extended seasons, sometimes they end up being mostly a war of attrition.
+A win is a win. Missing franchise QB and installing a new defense yet we still win. I'll take it.

Positive: I thought offensive line was fantastic today.
Negative: I feel like our pass rush overall has been a little bit disappointing. The twist that got Devonte Wyatt the sack was terrific but I feel like there should be a bit more consistent pressure on a QB than what we put forth today. It was okay, but they are going to need to step it up a bit from the way they’ve performed so far this year.
