TT seems to run on a theme for his drafts. Last year it was a draft about depth, the year before it was defense, the year before it was special teams. I think there is a serious chance that best player available runs through the lens of "we are a defense away from a championship." TT was able to break through his mold to trade up for CWIII when he made the decision that we were a few players away from being a real championship caliber team. I think he looks at this roster and judges we are a few players short and we need those moves. I think he will pick defense first round. I would not be horribly surprised to be wrong, but I think he colors his drafts within the scope of the team's biggest area of improvement.

Yes, I'm focused on the rush OLB. Gotta get one...

I would be very surprised to see either picked before round 3. Curry is a raw athlete and hasn't shown enough to be a 1st rounder. McClellin is an over achiever and has shown anything elite. I would peg both for early round 3. JMO though.
McClellin showed very well athletically at the combine and I don't think there's a chance in Hades he's still on the board in Round 3. Everything I read has him closer to the first round than the third these days. The kid has a great motor and game film productuion, showed well at linebacker in Mobile and showed athleticism many didn't expect at the combine. That sounds like a good guy to nab.

Curry though, yeah, I don't think he goes that high.
The very top guys on offense are not going to drop all the way to the Packers pick unless we move up. But, I can see TT taking another offensive lineman in round one should one that he has ranked very high drop all the way down. Don't see him going QB, RB, TE or WR in round one with what should be available. More than likely it will be DL, LB, CB or SS.

Never happen. Running backs just aren't worth a high investment these days. They don't play an important part in the offense and they don't last long.

Mediocre RBS aren't big investments but many reports hinted TT was interested in Ingram and would have taken him had the Saints not moved up and that the Saints specifically moved ahead of the Packers rather than trading with Green Bay (often a willing trade down partner)to get him. How much of that is smoke, who knows but if TT really thinks the RB is the best player do you see him passing on one?
