I don't think Jones has a lot of bargaining power. First there is a boat load of free agent Wide Receivers this year. Then this year draft is load with good wide's, it is the position at which this draft has the most talent.

Ted may not even tender a offer to Jones, let him test the market like last time he was a Free Agent then maybe match the best offer.

....and if you need a QB, like a 4th-round pick two years ago.

@zachkruse2

safeties in 2013: Allowed 861 yards, 13 TDs and a passer rating of 135.8. Zero INTs, FFs. Missed 32 tackles.

@zachkruse2

That's from the entire group. Burnett, Jennings, McMillian, Richardson, Banjo. Ugly.

Holy crap.

For comparison's sake, the duo in Seattle allowed 431 yards, 3 TD and a passer rating of approx. 65.7. Almost exactly half of what GB gave up in yards and QBR.

They combined for 8 INTs, 3 FF and 22 missed tackles. The missed tackles were actually fairly high, but I think we'd all settle for even a fraction of that kind of safety play.

NFL's salary cap now projected to rise to about $130 million, up 5 percent from $123 million last year, per league sources. More $ for all.

BTW, do the Cowboys and 'Skins get in on the new money?

Maybe not as much $$ to keep Shields and Raji.

Packers have plenty of offseason tasks. I’m told an important one is to sign WR Jordy Nelson to an extension. Has one year left at $2.5M

I would think they could reach a deal with Shields.  Reportedly wants 5.6 million per year but maybe we could negotiate that down a bit to maybe closer to 5 million per year which isn't a back breaker.  I say let's get the deal done.
