Speaking of Ha Ha, I noticed a couple times he isn't "ready" at the snap, but gets moving just a tic slow. Maybe not a big deal, maybe part of the reason the middle of the field is so easy to be picked apart. And I'm a Ha Ha fan.
Ha Ha Pre-Draft weaknesses:
- An average athlete for a safety
- Will take poor pursuit angles
- Doesnβt anticipate or read routes well, causing him to arrive late to the ball
- Most forced turnovers were off tips
He seems to play off and arrive late on a regular basis. Dissappointing. How much is scheme and how much is player ... hope to find out soon.

Hyena, the buffalo, or his balls?

Heck, so is a bottle of wart remover, but Martinez is still a pretty limited guy.
Still better than half the ILBs in the league. His read on that crosser to 22 was excellent and he had enough speed to stay with him. Had a chance to pick that and go. He's also still young and his play diagnostics and reaction will keep improving. Helps to have guys like 76 and 97 in front of him. Still hoping M Adams develops into something. Haven't heard much of him since he came off pup.
He's only in the top half if you count all backups. He's becoming a good rotational guy and decent starter, but top half is a pipe dream.
Totally disagree. He's been a tackling machine and even making a hand full of splash plays every week.
He is average.
You point to a pass break up like it was the athletic display of the century. ILB's are doing that for other teams across the league every week. We get one actual pass defended and it's so new and shiney to us Packer fans that we think the player is special. No, that is par.
How about the, guessing, 18 other receptions that their backs and TE's had? Was he not responsible for those?

If the scheme called for it he probably would have. I doubt the scheme called for it tho. I think the scheme was let Oleson run wide open all day.
Martinez is the least of our worries. You could argue he's been the best player on the defense. Leading the league in tackles, 7 passes defended, 1 INT, 1 FF, 2 FR, and 1 sack. I'll take that.
I'm looking forward to watching him develop further.
Imagine what he could do with a real DC and LB coach.

That you would argue he's been the best defensive player is a major issue as he's an average player with limits. He's behind every other NFC North team's preferred starter at ILB (Freeman, Trevaithan, Kendricks, Davis), and in conference Kuchely, Wagner , Ogletree, Bucannon, Deion Jones, Hicks, Zach Brown, Kwon Alexander, Te'o, Dansby, and about on par with Hitchens who will soon give way to Jaylon Smith.
That's not counting AFC guys like Hightower, Mosely, Shazier, Posluzny, Alonso, Timmons, Derrick Johnson, Ragland, Preston Brown, Minter, Cushing and probably Bowman and probably on par with Schobert.
Compared to Jake Ryan, who I think does not belong on the field, Martinez is solid against the run ...but limited in coverage. Can play with him as your ILB if the rest of the defense is sound....which we all know is not the case.
