Rodgers doesn't make roster decisions.

Kumerow will probably be put on the PS unless someone claims him. Which.... no team will is my guess.

The talent evaluators in the Packer FO are usually pretty spot on.

By my count the Packers still have 62 on their roster.  9 more cuts are coming.

Low habnging fruit would be Damarea Crockett, Zack Johnson, Alex Light, Yosh Nijam, Willington Previlon, Greg Roberts, Kabion Ento, and Henry Black.  I know I am one short of 9, but I don't see who that person might be.

What do you mean? He's only 28 years old and he's already caught 20 NFL passes. He's only been cut now by 3 teams.

Kumerow is a nice story about a guy who worked hard and got to play in the NFL despite having marginal speed (4.54 40 coming out of college) and playing D3.  There are probably 200 WRs every year just like him that get tryouts or training camp invites. Give him credit for sticking to it, outworking most of that other group of fringe guys, and actually playing in the NFL, but for anyone to think that the Packers success depends will change whether he is on the roster or not has irrational expectations.

As it looks, they are at 56, with 3 cuts left

Bold I think are locks. Red are in the discussion for remaining cuts.  I have 5 potential for 3

Stepaniak, Bolton, P Taylor are headed to reserve lists

I'm not freaking out about him at all...but if you don't see an incredibly terrible WR corps, then I don't know what to tell you. I don't wanna hear this guy has potential or that guy has potential..Potential doesn't win ball games, talent and success does. Their WR corps is simply one of the worst in Football. Period. That's disgraceful when you have a HOF QB. I don't care if you're going to run the ball more or not.

Pretty sure this guy didn't watch a single game last year if he thinks Kumerow is a surprising cut and that Lazard isn't a legitimate WR.

Plenty of film on Kumerow. Guess that's why he was released.  😁

Just discovered he's a local kid from Flint.

CHAMPIONSHIP!!!

Jake this, Jake that...... blah blah blah

All that matters is did they fill his spot with someone better than him.  If they did (and it shouldn't be hard) good move, if not it was a bad choice.  We will know soon enough.

Stay tuned.

OT Alex Light released.  So Nijman makes it over him.  3 more cuts to go.  Guessing CB Ento, CB Sunderland, DL Hester.

I am at 55 right now.  So that means 2 have to go.

CB Sunderland is the last unrestricted FA left - so he might be gone soon.

Entro could be on a list before long.  I forgot which one.  So he could be another.

Nijman is one of 10 OL left.  It is possible GB goes with 10, but if not he is a candidate.

IMO Hester is safe.  Not that he is that good, but he provides a "body" in case COVID becomes an issue.

As it looks today, they want a balance of run and pass with many interchangeable options. MLF has his Derrick Henry clone and they will run the ball using different backs with different strengths. Maybe he's hoping he can get by with the wr group by adding these dimensions to the offense. Very anxious to see how they use Deguara as well as the combo of Jones/Jamaal/Dillon. A vet wr off waivers still would help this roster, I think.

I don't necessarily disagree with the approach but that means all these rookies and 2nd year guys have to produce now.  It also means MVS needs to get over his yips or whatever it is.

I think they'll go through the scrap heap as well.

I wonder if Darrius Shepherd will be signed to the PS.   Granted, he made 2 bonehead mistakes against Detroit last year, but given the lack of talent at WR I was hoping they would give him another chance.   It would be great if MVS or ESB had a big year, but I’m really skeptical at this point.  And grabbing another team’s cast off rarely results in much.

No way to know if it will work. But in terms of lightening the load for a guy who's had to win a bunch of games by "miracles", it might not be a bad approach. Could be similar to 1995-Bert loses Sharpe, Holmgren elevates Brooks, who took full advantage of the chance. But the most noticable difference was #4 finishing the day having completed to 8, 9, 10 different guys. Actually, that was becoming the case even when Sharpe was still there. Might be wishful thinking, but if MLF is  building this with 12 in mind as per his health and taking some pressure off, it might work if they're all on the same page. If Rodgers wants a shot at another Lombardi, there are much worse ways to go about it.
