Randall Cobb can probably handle that. I'm surprised they don't use him in the Wildcat
What are they going to do? Have someone else call the plays in the huddle? Vince Young isn't a rocket surgeon or a brain scientist.
Run it up the flag pole and see if it floats?

Interesting article about Joe. It ties in with a famous Lombardi quote.
Source to me on Vince Young: "Vince is ecstatic and is looking forward to the opportunity. He was hoping to participate in the team's quarterback meeting today." #Packers
Harrell hasn't exactly done very much to this point so might as well give Young a shot
Vince Lombardi, Vince Workman, Vince Young...any more Vinces?
Ferragamo
Poor guy doesn't realize they only signed him so they could use his football.
Vinnie Clark? Vince Ferragamo, Vince Rafferty & Vince Villanucci
Vega, Faye, Price, Van Gough, Neil, del Negro, Sausage (pronounced "saw-seege"), Boombats
Could it be possible the Packers signed him with a little guaranteed money specifically to game plan against the Pistol? And then depending on how he performs in addition to that, he's afforded the opportunity to compete for a roster spot, but no guarantees.
If you ask me it's proof positive Bakhtiari is your new LT and Rodgers sees very little time in the preseason. No point in letting the franchise get killed in a pre season game while they figure out if Bakhtiari can handle the job.
This also lets you sort out the RBs. Rodgers should be good and there's a lot of evaluation with the RBs. More snaps for Starks to see if he can stay healthy. And you let the RBs work on their pass protect while Vince is back there. He's big enough that he should be able to take some shots or avoid them.
Coleman is undisciplined and turning it over like crazy the whole camp. If he melts down again you put Vince in there to make something happen and give you a chance at a fresh set of downs to let you keep evaluating the young talent (and keep the defense from getting overworked).
/speculation
and there's Vinny Testaverde
Green head.

Packer people?
Something tells me VY will be retiring exactly one day after the first blizzard.

So we're talking early December?
About the same time Jay C 's insulin pump seems to slush up every season. Can't they embed those things internally now? Or is it an ovary issue?
Maybe all that time they spent learning about the Pistol/Read Option made them consider adding in a set of those plays of their own?
Tap dancin' christ on a cracker.
he actually looks skinny - especially those toothpicks he's standing on. wonder if he's ever heard of a lower body workout?
I'm waiting to hear a "DYNO-MITE!!"

When you look back at the top of the 2006 draft, I only counted 4-5 of the top 20 selected as still being with the same team that drafted them..and some of them are on their 5th NFL franchise by now.

My first thought on the picture was, "Manute Bol lives!"
Thanks David Dukeel
Hard watching Vince in camp and not thinking "where a QB lands after the draft really matters". He's a mess. It can't be easy for him watching the coaches drilling the fundamentals into the QB's knowing he's likely had coaches that simply let Vince be Vince.
Well, perhaps letting "Vince be Vince" is a better option than what we have now for the backups.
Notes from camp today via GBPG:
"Recently signed Vince Young is looking at an uphill battle to beat out Graham Harrell for the backup quarterback job. Young, who hasnโt played since training camp last year in Buffalo, looked rusty in his first live throwing since signing Tuesday. On one play, his overthrow of open tight end D.J. Williams was intercepted by safety Chaz Powell. He also missed receiver Omarius Harris, who was open on a short crossing route."
If GB cut him at end of TC I doubt anybody is likely to grab him. So no need to keep him on the 53 for opening weekend. TC is a good chance to see if he has anything worth developing, then GB can always add him back after the 2nd week.
