The other thing to consider for Hundley is that if he was picked by another team he would likely be stuck starting on some dumpster fire with lousy talent and coaching and get shell-shocked before his career even gets started.  Here he can learn and develop, and hopefully fill in IF ever needed.  Worst case, he pulls a Matt Flynn and goes on to riches somewhere else.

 

McCarthy and crew are certainly not perfect, but they sure have a knack for developing QBs the right way.

They developed even the dorks like Graham Harrell, its just that he wasn't very good

But- they got everything they could ( and more) out of him and made him the best he could possibly be. That's all you can ask out of the developers

 

Also note how well 7th round Flynn did in GB vs Flynn on any/every other team

How many 7th round QBs can find a starting job ? Repeatedly ?

 

MM and Clements are extremely good at improving/developing guys, even the ones that aren't that talented to begin with. Can't ask for more than that
