A potential negative is that Savage does not appear to be playing well. On the TD pass he "Sharper'd" the defense, playing 5 yards deep in the end zone and letting a guy catch a ball at the goal line (when it didn't appear that he was being threatened in his zone by any other receiver). Maybe someone can look at the All-22 and make sure he wasn't preventing something to Jefferson, but it didn't look like it.
Savage is going to have some chances to make plays in the playoffs and the Packers need him to be a little more like Nick Collins or LeRoy Butler, not a guy who appears to be blowing assignments.
- All the Debbie Downers in the game thread
+ recorded the game and had a nice sleep. Will watch it this afternoon whilst sipping my Grape Crush!
+ I loved the piece Collingsworth did on Davante.
How he doesn't raise his arms until the last second giving nothing away to the defender. Never noticed that but I'll be watching for it now.
- Deguara drop in the endzone in the first quarter. Maybe it was just the cold but he did not look natural in his attempt make that catch. Cost the team 4 points.
- 4th down attempt in the red zone in the first quarter. I feel this happens a lot, where a team calls a play on 3rd down without thinking about what they'll do on 4th down. In this case, it was 2 pass plays on 3rd/4th and short. MLF needs to know if he's going for it on 4th when he calls the 3rd down play, and adjust play calling on 3rd accordingly. In this case, I would have liked to see a run on 3rd then go for it on 4th. Instead we got two pass plays.
Positives
+ Shut down the run game. That was the key to making this game a blowout.
+ Scoring on our first drive. Think it's been a while since we did that. The rest of the 1st quarter wasn't great on offense, but the score was an improvement.
+ Special Teams trending in the right direction. Mason has his mojo back and the other units are starting to look competent and that's all we need out of them.
+ No major injuries
+ Dillon's demoralizing run for a TD late in the game. Perfect way to end the Vikings playoff hopes. Soul crushing and bone breaking.
Negatives
- Dequra looked like he never caught a football before on the endzone pass. Had his hands in a position to catch a low ball for a ball above his head.
+ we win - winning is hard even when the opponent is really bad
+ 12+17 looks unreal
- false sense of security; I hope this team remembers what it looked like in the playoffs last year
- if they do not - this will likely be the last time the band is together
They should just forfeit the Detroit game and their 1st playoff game.
AR/DA looking sharp in single digit temps. Lazard reemerges. Bodes well for playoffs.
AJ/AJ looking strong and fresh, AJD bowling through tacklers. OL making room for them. Bodes well for playoffs.
MC rounding back into consistency. Moore finally looks like a returner you can count on. Bodes well for playoffs.
DL/LBs keeping contain vs the run and making stops short of the sticks. Bodes well for playoffs.
<no team coming to GB in 3 weeks is going to be as bad as MIN>
-GWAR dropping a TD. Current TE group looks serviceable but if he could take the next step, this offense could be a buzz saw.
-Bojo, no-go in sub-zero. They need him to find more leg in the cold for the playoffs.
-it was a nice "get well" game for the D but I'm still not convinced it is back to where it was mid-season. I think they'll need Jaire back to stop Brady/Bucs.
The one thing that stood out for me with the D is they were wrapping up very well last night. Tackling had been less than adequate in the 3-4 games prior to that.
I thought Moore looked 97% better than anything weâve seen returning punts this entire season. I hope he is kept in the role throughout the post season.

Extremely low bar. He was competent and confident in catching the ball. I'll take it.

He also showed some return skills on the one punt. Still a low bar yet exciting to see after being beaten down all season into just hoping there isn't a muff or fumble.

They need to be looking for any kind of help in the middle of the Dline again. The overachievers have stopped overachieving. IF Z comes back that should help but the turds are again turds and just in time for the playoffs as usual. With Savage shitting the bed that's another hole in the middle. Campbell and Barnes have been solid and consistent. Even a fraction of fresh help on the Dline would be welcome.
Positives:
Beating the damn Spermheads no matter what the records are or whatever the score is makes for a good day.
Home field. It is awesome and this time there will be a stadium full of fans. But, I am still nervous about it after the TB loss last year. They cannot look ahead at all in the first round and take care of business.
Great effort by the defense stopping the run. They will need to keep that up in the playoffs and make them one dimensional
Good game by the special teams
Negatives? I was up entirely too late and drank too much before an early day of work. Well that might not be so much of a negative
I think Moore is a keeper and should be used in the slot on Offense. He had a solid year last season with Seattle receiving and some rushing. ( 35 receptions -6 TDs, ran the ball 8 times for a 7.6 average).
He's no Rasul Douglas, but he may be another find by Gute.
The earliest we can see Tampa will be the Championship game. They cannot fall past the 3 seed no matter what happens in week 18.
Personally, I am hoping for a Rams win against the Niners and a Saints loss against the Falcons. This would mean Tampa faces Niners in round 1 and I think they would knock them out Tom. Then we would get the Niners for Divisional week.
Moore's not ahead of Adams, Cobb, Lazard, or even St.Brown in the slot.
Sounds like Cobb will be back for the Playoffs. EQ has flashed but Cobb takes snaps from him when he returns.
Last night, on that little bubble pass to Adams, early in the game EQ missed his block. They came back to it a few plays later with Lazard in that position and he just man handled the CB.
Lazard is a poor mans Hines Ward. You want him on the field as much as possible. He is the #2 on this team IMO as MVS is so much more one dimensional in comparison to him.
Savage has been a concern. It's one thing to play soft, but there have been plays where he catches up to the receiver and then cuts behind the receiver allowing them to still make the catch. He's had chances to be aggressive and grab interceptions or at least knock the ball down, Against Baltimore Huntley doesn't lead Andrews enough in the endzone allowing Savage to recover. Instead of cutting in front of Andrews, he runs behind the TE allowing an easy TD. Last night I felt Savage could have cut in front of a receiver in the endzone, but elected to run behind and try to knock the ball loose. Poor technique!
+ No one left the field shirtless after throwing his clothing all over the sidelines and into the stands.*
*with the exception of a few fans whoâs perceived body temperature increases dramatically after a few generous applications of Miller
He's played one game. Probably going to be an adjustment period. Just catch the damn ball.

And when appropriate leave it go and get out of the way of any bad bounces
Both backs are now over 1,000 yards.
Just a really nice game overall following the slow start. Our Dline (run defense) is still a major concern when not playing a one-dimensional team like we did last night and Savage really seems to be descending as some have pointed out. Loved the power running game to put it away and special teams weren't a complete liability for a change.
Wish I could figure out how to imbed a tweet, but love this of the OL! Poor Dillon looks like he felt a little excluded from the club!

Did you get your shirt back?
Last night was pretty danged awesome as a Packers fan. A 27 point win over the Vikings to clinch home field advantage and knock the Vikings out of the playoffs is about as good as it gets.
I say there really are no dominant teams in Pro Football this year so any advantage you can get will help. Thereâs no dominant teams, but make no mistake, the Pack deserves to be the favorites at this point despite the incredible amount of injuries.
Is the number one seed and subsequent bye overrated? The 2011 year comes to mind.
What's the over/under on how many times 2011 will be brought up?
