Holding the tie, or even better, getting a lead would be a huge confidence booster going into halftime.

That series showed no confidence in the team, at all.
Considering the opponent, and location, that's a pretty strong half of football, overall. A few Steeler drops have helped us, but I'm happy with what I'm seeing.

No confidence in the offense AND the defense. No confidence in his QB to make some plays. No confidence that if they punt it back to PIT that his DEF can't stop them.

I have no idea how McCarthy expects to win games with the dink and dunk approach. The only shot you have is broken plays defensively, like what happened in the 1st half. At some point you HAVE to start throwing the ball down the field for cripes sakes.
