What Lewis could lend to the conversation is what AH might be thinking/going through after having been involved in a murder. Doubt that is how they are using Lewis though.

Just like Ray, it's all about the injustice and false accusations that the white man brings down on the poor black af-a-wheet.
There's no PC way to put it, and it'll never be pretty when somebody does, but as long as athletic performance is valued higher than morality and ethics by coaches, and later, owners of professional franchises, the thug element will continue to grow and flourish.
I suppose I really don't care if that's the image the NBA and NFL wants to project and support, but I'd just as soon see events like this be a rogue occurrence as opposed to continuing a long-running trend.
I would bet there are more criminals per capita playing in the NFL than the NBA or any other professional sport.

It's dated now but I'd recommend reading the book Pros and Cons. I'd bet the stats haven't changed much over the last 10-15 years. A fair percentage of NFL players are thugs and lowlifes and guys either charged or convicted of crimes beyond misdemeanors. The study for their book uncovered something like 20% of all NFL players had been involved in serious crimes.
"Bill, it's Ted Thompson. Jermichael Finley for Brandon Spikes straight up. Helps us both. That or you're 2014 2nd rounder"

Gronk just had back surgery. Hernandez isn't playing in 2013. They traded Welker. Number 1 TE on the depth chart in camp might be Michael Hoomanimawanui. Brady is probably building steam on a week long bender right now.

Billy needs options.

And if anyone can get it through Tebow's thick skull he's not a QB and built like an H-Back, it's probably BB. Of course he still has to catch and learn to run a couple of routes but it's not insurmountable.
Anyone that expects Tebow to contribute in year 1 of transitioning from QB to TE/HB is kidding themselves. He hasn't run a single route in his entire career, has never caught a pass in a game, has never had to fight to get off the line of scrimmage, and doesn't understand coverages (which was a struggle of his as a QB). There have been much better athletes that have been busts at WR and TE than Tebow, and they actually played WR and TE in college.
