+ The offense was overall pretty fantastic against a decent defense. Happy to see MVS rebound from a horrible drop.
- The injuries continue to mount with 4 guys going out. Let’s hope nobody is out long
+ Doesn’t matter that we didn’t get their best, it has to be a confidence boost to travel out to Cali and get the W.
+ Doesn’t matter that we didn’t get their best, It’s a conference win.
+ Our subs are significantly better than their subs.
+ 9 days to heal up for the next game.
+I don't care if it's vs scrubs and practice squad players it was enjoyable to beat the snot out of the whiners. Big for LaFleur to beat Shannyhan too.
+A Jones is a difference maker
+ Rodgers Adams combo is unstoppable
+ Big Dog TD and MVS 2fer
+Raven Greene MVP of D with sack and INT
+Smith Bros and Gary getting to QB.
- D showed life but still streaky
- JK Scott not a KO guy
- injuries
Edit: I have mixed feelings about masks but it made me happy to see Packers wearing masks on sidelines, taking covid seriously, thinking of teammates etc.
Paws - They won / Davante is SICK (he better be against those guys) / Maybe MVS got some confidence against guys that will be ringin up items at 7-11 in a few weeks. Billy Turner & Aaron Jones
Negs - Jaire concussion (should be good in 10 days)/ The fact they even had to play -- NFL
Negs - Pettine sucks fire him NOW! Niners should've only scored about 3 points with the jr. varsity squad on the field. Sickening.
Paws - @Pikes Peak declares victory!
Loved the way the offense came out sharp, focused, and fast. Jonesie just tilts the field. And Aikman was choking himself trying to compliment (not) compliment Adams... “There are other guys in the league that can line up all over the field... and Adams is certainly one of them...” STFU you bag of Jerry Jones anal breeze. That fucker just needs to not do Packers games anymore. I’ll take Bill fucking Jartz and someone’s cousin Zippy over that dickhead.
Even injuries considered, that SF team isn’t the same team. They’re not the swagger fest that rolled the NFC last year. Packers defense was vanilla as hell and managed to hurt my fantasy team in the end, but maybe it’s something to build on. I’m not going to get too excited about them, though.
+
Ervin. Loved his contribution and Aikman's veiled shot at the previous coach about him.
Adams/AR The best WR/QB combo presently, IMO.
Really like Williams but Jones is a so much more dynamic player.
Good to see MVS recover from the bad drop.
OL Really amazing to see them shuffle the line and still play well. Jenkins appears to be able to play anywhere on the line at an extremely high level.
-
Lots of missed opportunities for the Niner offense that other teams with a competent LT and QB won't miss. Defense still has lots of work to do.
Injuries
Positives:
The beat a team they should have, on a short week, and coming off a bitter loss.
Jones is a weapon and this offense is so much better with him in the lineup
Its an NFC win
Negatives:
Jackson SUCKS
Defense was very vanilla and soft. I get you are without your top 2 CBs but you can't let that Richie James level of WR gain all those yards
This defense is looking more and more like Ernest Dominic Capers defense
After sputtering a bit earlier in the game, the offense finally broke free. SF isn't the same without Bosa but what looked like resistance after that first drive finally gave way.
Though the score would suggest otherwise, I don't have the same level of optimism about the D. Even considering they were playing a taxi squad of an offense. When the game was still competitive there were opportunities for SF's bench to keep the score tight. They had guys open that couldn't make the catch and you had Mullen throwing up Favre specials. Not to mention how many times our D couldn't set the edge vs. a stretch run. We were without KK and then JA but our backups were covering Rick James and Cathador-whatever-TE.
ST also showed some holes that could really haunt them in closer games.
+. Pack rose to the occasion, beating a crummy team
+. Lots more of those coming up
Because it's overreaction Friday, who stands in the way in the NFC? Tampa, Seattle, SF if they get enough guys back?
Paws: MVS got hot, with 2 TDs, after dropping an easy pass and catch, early. Davante is amazing! Jones is why we run the ball. Got a good game from our back up players like Samuel, Hollman and even Malik Taylor. I saw Nijman and Garvin and a few other UDFA's get into the game. SF Offense was decimated, but their Defense was pretty much intact and Rodgers, Davante and Jones shredded them all night. The Smiths were in on the action, pressuring Mullens, quite a bit, and Preston pressured Mullens into throwing an INT to Green! Mason attempting a 53 yard FG and nailing it. Josh Jackson playing aggressively. Sure, he drew two penalties but he was very active in the secondary for GB. Our Defense played pretty well, overall. Our back up players were a lot better than theirs. Our makeshift O-Line played very well and only allowed one sack on Rodgers. Thankful for the mini bye. I just hope we come out of SF without any more Covid issues. I still don't know why they played the game. If players contract the virus this coming week, that is on the League.
Negs: The one penalty on Jackson where he picked the SF player up and dumped him, IMO, was not worthy of a flag. As I said in the game thread, it wasn't as bad as what Barr did to Rodgers, and that did not get a flag. The helmet to helmet call on Samuels was ticky-tack, as well. How does a pass rusher, like Samuel, avoid hitting the QB's helmet, when the QB is going into a fetal position? I think we may see a solid player in Samuels. Savage dropped a sure INT. So did Preston. The wide open SF receivers in this game made me think that our coverage did not know who to cover. I'm glad we didn't face Deebo! Jaire gets concussed. Hoping he is going to be okay!
Davante is a gawd..........tackling looked a little better.......MVS sure got a lot of hugs and high fives from my boy friend, the offensive line did pretty well being shuffled around and the Packers should have won just by the number of injuries of the Niners. Is this team ready for the big show??? I don’t think so. Why does the defense ALWAYS look so pathetic and not keyed up to play???
Last night, Elgton Jenkins played tackle, guard, center, and also flew the plane home. Just a true renaissance man.

+ Win
- MVS continues to show JUST enough to Gutenfarter to think he's a jeenyus and keep him around
- Defense actually thinks they had a good game
+ LaFleur's creativity is such a pleasure to watch on offense. I've watched several Cowboys games just to see the MM effect - hate to say it, but the change in offensive philosophy was badly needed. Commitment to run, scheme to get guys open, use your playmakers (often). Love it.
- Not sure whether to be amazed or jealous how a good middle linebacker can impact a defense - Eric Kendricks, the 2 LBs for Tampa, Fred Warner - they are difference makers, especially in run D. I don't understand how the Packers don't see it the same way.
+/- MVS is a one trick pony. That makes him a 4th/5th WR and he needs to be 2/3 given the roster. That's not enough to make a deep push into the playoffs.
+ Rashan Gary gives a ton of effort - eventually the production will come?
+ O-line was really good.
- Even with a JV offense, Shanahan was still able to attack the same weaknesses in the Packers run D - the defense edge containment/setting is widely hit and miss.
- Few TE targets. Is that because of the defense the 49ers were playing?

I don't quite know what to think of Jenkins at LT. Honestly, I'd like to see him get another shot against a solid team. May be nuts but it could make the Bak contract talks a lot more simple.
Might've seen your future starting lineup last night.
D finally got some turnovers which lead to points.
Crosby still money even while banged up.
D line looked better when the game was still competitive.
Re-watching the game.....have the Packers lost every coin toss this season?? Seems they’ve ALWAYS started the game and all teams have deferred.

I was thinking similarly. We haven’t really missed Bahk. Wagner and Turner have been fine. I can’t believe I’m even thinking this, but maybe the money should go to Jones instead.
Did anyone else notice EQ got only 4 snaps yesterday? Whereas the week before MLF talked about how EQ would get significantly more snaps (which of course produced nothing). I thought at the time the Packers were giving him more snaps to showcase him before the trade deadline as bait. The fact that he only got 4 snaps last night makes me believe I was right.
I was very glad to see Swerve get significant opportunities yesterday (of course, they didn’t have JW or Dillon) and I really think he adds a lot to this offense. I hope they keep using him.
Granted, this win feels a bit empty, but being 6-2 at the halfway point is not too shabby!
ESB still trending towards a ST only guy. I think we are going to see Lazard activated for the next game and that bumps him down even more. Might end up on the PS.
74 is also all kinds of ridiculous...

@RapSheet: #Packers LB Krys Barnes, who suffered a calf injury last night and exited the game after the first half, tested positive for COVID-19, source said. He’s not experiencing symptoms as of right now.

Packers have scored on every opening possession this season. In those 8 games they were only scored on first by one team, the Lions in week 2. So it appears IF all teams defer when winning the coin toss then Packers lost all but one coin toss all season.
Now we need a good conspiracy theory as to why...
The Packers have placed LB Krys Barnes and QB Jordan Love on the reserve/COVID-19 list. The two former high school teammates are roommates here in Green Bay.

It's possible the Packers won some coin tosses, deferred, and stopped the opponents on their opening drive.

So, do you stick him at LT next year and let Bakh go? If Jenkins can give you 80% of what Bakh can, I'd rather use 20 million to improve their front on defense.
I love Bahkt but we see what Aaron Jones can do for this team.
Bahk seemed like a no brainer. Seeing the OL after his injury has really muddied the waters of where to spend that money.
You spend $$ on a top tier LT over a RB 100 out of 100 times. It's a passing league.

I agree that I'd rather have 2 stud OL like Bakh and Jenkins than 1, but if you can't stop good teams in the playoffs from running it down your throat you have to be perfect on offense to even have a chance. It's not Bakh or Jones for me. It's Bakh and/or Jones versus impact players in the middle of the defense.

The Texans spent all that $$$ and draft equity on Tunsil and have their franchise guy at QB. Should be smooth sailing from here.
I was 100% on extend Bahk back in September. Now I might be in the 80-90% sure we should do it area. It is a passing league. Trying to stop other teams from passing should matter just as much.

The Texans then traded a top 5 WR for a declining RB and a 2nd round pick. That part made no sense.

Finding a productive RB will almost certainly be easier than finding a franchise QB and LT. So that's not necessarily a bad trade. The bigger issue was getting rid of the franchise WR for an aging/declining RB. Again, though, that shitty RB will be more easily replaced than the LT or QB. And it's a passing league, so give me the QB and LT 100 /100 times.
