Most losses in professional sport’s history..might as well give ‘em a few more.

The Brewers expanded their roster with Clayton Andrews and Owen Miller as their Sept. 1 call ups. Miller makes sense but Andrews showed nothing in an earlier stint other than that he's lefthanded.
Not much change. ESPN gives Phillies a 52% chance to win. Against Strike out Freddie?
I like the Miller call up. I think he is a better sac fly pinch hit option than some other guys.
Miller has the versatility in the field that is needed, plus he can run and hit in streaks. If Monosterio doesn't start hitting he's likely to get some starts at 3B. I don't see where Andrews fits in unless it's to be an innings eater in blowout losses.
2 runs in the last 20 innings.
13 for their last 70 at the plate.
ZERO extra base hits in the the last 20 innings.
Owen Miller isn't going to help that.
Why not Hiura?
Peralta has been dominant after the Schwarber lead off home run. 8 strikeouts in 4 innings.

Hiura can't play a position or hit major league pitching. When the Brewers DFA'd him in the spring he was done in Milw. The only reasons he landed in Nashville is because nobody wanted him, the Brewers had to pay him $2.2 mil whether he played or not, and the Brewers liked him enough to give him the opportunity to keep playing. I think he's a prime candidate to play in Korea or Japan where he shouldn't get overpowered with high fastballs.
3-1 Crew. Adames takes one out.
The Cubs are on the verge of a DH sweep against the Reds.
Adames hits it hard to straight away center. 430 feet.
When he's not pull happy he can do a lot.
Good to hear Ueck again.

Reds have come back to tie in the bottom of the 9th of the second game.
Peralta with 10 Ks in 6 innings. He's at 94 pitches. Maybe he gets another inning.
Cubs lose!
Reds win the back end of the double header over the Cubs.

We already have Chafin for that role.
Not going to fault Peralta for the Schwaber homer. He got 2 quick strikes on him with curves and then on the 8th pitch after 3 foul balls he threw a curve again. Brewer killer Schwaber hit it out. It happens.
Schwarber was fooled on the pitch but he stayed back just enough that he could pull that outside pitch down the RF line. Not a bad pitch but he left it up.
Big hitter here in Turner. Wow, going to Williams in the 8th. He's well rested.
Shit. Game.
We're dead.
Ouch
Bryce Harper is on an 11 year, 330 million dollar contract.
Trae Turner is not worth 11 years and 300 million, but he's very good.
The Brewers don't have guys like that.
That situation was just all wrong. Payamps has been slipping which forced Williams into a tough situation. Turner is exactly the wrong hitter the Brewer want up in that situation. Baseball is such a game of streaks it would almost be better to send Megill out to start the 8th with a 2 run lead.

Or better yet, let Peralta go another inning.
Bases loaded, down 2, 8th inning and you pinch hit a guy with a 604 OPS.
Taylor may be OK, but he's not exactly someone who scares you.

But he gets walked. Down 1 with Adames coming up with the bases loaded.
Adames strikes out by swinging at 3 balls with the final strike being on a pitch that was about 4 inches outside the strike zone down and away.
Wow. Brewers catch a break and score 3 runs on an error.
Owen ! Yesss !
Oh my.
The GOAT. And I don't mean the greatest of all time. 3 runs score on an infield error?
Being reviewed now.

4 inches? At least a foot, maybe more.
Play stands !
You won't get that type of gift win very often.
We deserved it after the Cubs series. We had 4 HRs knocked down by the wind in that 1-0 loss.
That was a real roller coaster. We're leading but the Cubs are heading for a DH sweep to gain a half game, we fall behind so it's a game and a half we're giving up, Cubs blow the their game so now we're losing half a game, we get a gift win and pick up half a game.

The power of putting the ball in play. Compare the Adames AB to the Miller AB. They both end up going 0-1 but one AB puts 3 runs on the board.
Watching the replay Owen reached with his bat to get that hit, probably would have been called a ball. A ball that ended up a 3 run clutch hit with the help of a bad error by the third baseman. Taylor must have been flying around the bases to get the head first slide to barely get safe at the plate for the third score.
