I haven't been this excited about Bucks playoffs since the 80's!

The Bucks haven’t won a playoff series since 2000-01. Four games into this one, that will have changed.
One more thing- that 2000-01 season is the only season they have won a playoff series (getting to the ECF) since 1988-89.
That’s 13 seasons they have qualified for the playoffs in 30 years, and they got out of the first round ONE TIME.
I looked up the Bucks playoff history and I was stunned about their lack of success getting out of the first round. I will admit to having tuned out the NBA for quite awhile now but I will make sure that I watch the Bucks.

Game 1 needs to be a statement win - not just for the Pistons but for the entire NBA. A blowout win sets the tone. A close win (or a loss) gets the chatter going about how the Bucks aren't really built for the playoffs.

I’m glad they got Lopez some rest- he was just gassed the last week, so the extra few days has to be good.
Im just glad thevreign of Tim Frazier terror is over. That guy gets garbage minutes from here. Good. I lost a few years of my life watching that shot show.

Honestly what has hurt the Bucks not advancing in the playoffs are 4 specific things:
1) poor seeding thus poor matchups
2) lack of home court advantage
3) expansion to 7 game series
4) bad luck with some injuries
They were pretty good in 2009-2010 but the Bogut injury right before the playoffs started killed them.
They very easily could have advanced last year against Boston.
They were so close last year to knocking off the Celtics in round 1
The first game of the series, if you remember, went to OT. The Bucks almost stole that one but (I hope) they learned from the experience.
Game 6 last year - Bucks kicked their ass up & down the court & they started the series down 0-2 only to come back & even it in game 6. Pretty difficult to win 4 out of 5 vs. ANY team especially when you're on the road. We saw the Warriors win game 6 & game 7 last year in Houston but they're ridiculous.
My point is, I believe they gained experience even with the previous coaching staff & now they have Coach Bud guiding them with a monster team defense (especially BledSHOW).
This year is going to be different barring major injury, which every team must avoid.

If Bledsoe plays even at an average level, they advance easily. Middleton played at a superstar level in that series last year.

Just absorbing this game, I have to admit- it was anticlimactic. They have played this way all season- Detroit was simply no match. And Detroit without Griffin is just sad. That’s not a playoff team out there- and the Bucks proved how.
But they actually didn’t play a lights out game. I don’t think Mirotic hit a shot, Middleton was 5/13 (I suppose we should be used to that at this point), and Giannis was terrible from the line and shot poorly overall when he was away from the rim. But it definitely shows that Brown and Hill have benefitted from the extra minutes down the stretch. And Lopez benefited from the extra rest.
And not a player touched anywhere close to 30 min. That keeps a team fresh, and if they make a Finals run, they’ll have a lot more in the tank and depth to rely on if they need it. Dwayne Casey went all out with the Phil Jackson shit after the game, clamoring for more calls against Milwaukee- but it won’t matter. And I’ll be surprised if the Bucks need a 30 minute night from any of their starters on their way to a sweep. Keep using that depth, keep them all fresh.
Giannis spoke about how Coach Bud told him "Last year you played 37 minutes a game, I'm going to decrease that, this year" & at first Giannis was like, "No Coach I need to play more" Now Giannis understands, Coach has a plan & it was all about getting to this spot.

Griffin likely out all of Round 1
Not that the Pistons had a chance anyway, but there's no reason this one doesn't end in 4. Detroit might make game 3 close with a home court boost (and by close I mean within 10) but that's about it.
Get the sweep & get ready for round 2 - Pissstons are good warm-up for the Bucks
As I heard yesterday on TV, Pistons will lose in 4 if Griffin played, will lose in 3 if he doesn't. 
These all should be 30 point, sit the starters for most of the 4th quarter blowouts. The nice thing is that the Bucks have now just seen an 8 seed come from 31 down and prolong the Warrior series. Dominate early and let Mirotic (and maybe Snell) get some low pressure minutes to work back into shape.
Just don't play passively because Griffin is out and let someone like Ish Smith or Kennard go off and steal a game.

He's actually a good guy and a decent player. He stupidly pushed Giannis in game 1 and immediately knew he screwed up (which is why he went to help him up).
His problem is that like Greg Monroe is that he is an anachronism right now. Big guys that can't shoot 3s to space the floor (and aren't absolutely dominant in the post) have trouble playing big minutes.

What is this bullshit where a guy is better than you or taking you to task and you go outside the rules to hurt him? That’s the kind of shit that the Bad Boys used to do- and while some folks wax poetic about that era of basketball, I ****ing hated it then and hate it now.
What if he falls on his arm like Bogut, or bounces his head on the floor like Carlos Delifno? Neither player was ever the same after those injuries, and either injury easily could have happened on that play.
That Giannis just fell and was OK is a stroke of luck. The world would felt differently about this if he would have been hurt. There is NO PLACE for that bullshit in this game. NONE. There never was...

I believe some Milwaukee area punk tried to pick a fight with Barkley at a Water Street bar maybe like 25-30 years ago. I believe Barkley ended up throwing the guy through a window of the bar but I may be exaggerating that in my own memory.
I would imagine that incident sort of skewed Barkley's view of Milwaukee from that point forward. It's been a long time since the incident, but from what I remembered about it, I took Barkley's side as I got the feeling the guy approached Barkley with the attitude of wanting to fight him and got what he deserved.

Detroit attacking the paint a lot more already. But at some point they have to attack them from 3 in the P&R... teams have been scoring that way all season.
