Captain Jacks I remember but not sure I ever went there.  Yes, Steve's Pizza, totally forgot about.  That was decent gut filler.  Not sure I'd rave about it.

The Greek Pizza (feta and other things) is really good. I used to order takeout gyro’s from Steve’s when I lived in RF.

If in Southern California, I have two nomineeds: Pizza Port in San Clemente, Solano Beach and other locales.

https://www.pizzaport.com/

and one of the most amazing I've ever had in San Diego, Encinatas and other locations: Napizza

https://na-pizza.com/

All ingredients imported from Italy. Buy it by the slice if you wish. Amazing place, and across the street in Encinitas is a place called The Taco Stand that has lines all the time and you will understand why after the first visit.

I think you can put anything you like on a pizza.  I love to make a sauce less, thin crust pizza with thinly sliced apples, cheddar cheese, carnalized onions and bacon.  Pineapple, bacon and jalapeno is delicious.   A white pizza with whipped heavy cream, fontina and mushrooms is a family favorite.

I know I shouldn't, but I gotta ask anyway.
How do you carnalize an onion?

I think that's a specialty in Bangkok.

Carnalization there would likely contain peppers, soy, curry, rice, other things and for sure "Prick Nam Pla" to  spoon on it to your heart's delight.

They are mostly in Eastern Iowa and Western Wisconsin and Illinois but if you ever see a Happy Joe's, stop there and get a taco pizza. You can thank me later.

There is one in Lancaster, WI. Used to be one in PDC too.

Frozen: Portesi Original with the crust around the edge. I get them anytime I come back to Wisconsin. They must put crack in that crust.

Take out: Plainfield Bowling Alley pizza in Plainfield, WI and Two Lakes pizza in Almond WI. Simply the best to me.

You can now order Portesi pizzas, cheese fries and soon the spaghetti sauce delivered to your home. My brother in law in AZ just got a shipment, one happy camper. Check their website if you're craving a Portesi fix.

They are a Dubuque based company. I used to know the wife of the owner(one of the owners?).

Lou Malnati's in Chicago

Luigi's in Kenosha.

2 best pizzas I've ever had

Didn't anyone ever try Totino's frozen. So bad it's good. 😂

Chain: Round Table ain't bad if you eat it fresh out of the oven.

The original Totino's restaurant used to be in Northeast Minneapolis and was pretty good. They had the best anchovy pizza I've ever had and, let's face it, most anchovy pizzas aren't even good, so it really stood out. They then moved to the NW 'burbs where the Domino's changes were considered pretty radical and didn't make it very long. The Mexican Restaurant that followed in that space also didn't last.

My favorite here is Pizzaria Lola https://www.foodnetwork.com/sh...s/triple-d-all-stars

Frozen Pizza:

Usually stock up when they are $4.99. Their Works pizza is pretty good too. Takeout Pizza around here is far too expensive for what you get.

Stage Road Inn in Sturgeon Bay Wi is where I like to go when I'm up in Door County.

History of deep dish Chicago pizza!

Personally Gino’s and the sausage patty is untouchable, but LouMal’s is still great as is the original UNO’s.

Frozen pizza...Home Run Inn....namesake of the restaurant in Chicago. It’s not deep dish.

Don’t like deep dish, especially if it has cornmeal in it...feh

Chicago stuffed pizza is good...Giordano’s and Nancy’s are my go to in Chicagoland. Giordano’s also makes a great flat crust if you ask for extra red sauce, otherwise a little dry. My absolute favorite Chicago pizza place is actually a Roman import called “Bonci.” The owner Gabriel Bonci is a freaking mad scientist.

NY pizza...too many to name, but my standards are DiFara pizza, and in Brooklyn Best Pizza, and L&B Spumoni Gardens. If you want authentic Naples style, hit Una Pizza Napoletana...I actually got to know the owner Anthony Mangieri when he moved fron NJ to SF.

Bay Area the best pizza chains are Patxi’s, Pizza My Heart and Amici’s.

My favorite overall pizza place in SF is Tony’s Pizza Napoletana...you can get 12 different kinds of pizza...NY, Chicago, Detroit, Neapolitan, Sicilian, coal fired...it’s like a pizza museum.

I forgot https://firstpizza.com in NY -- Lombardi's. 6th & Spring St.  With a pitcher of beer. Fantastic.

Friggin draft hasn't been in NY for so long I almost forgot.

Bonci is also in Rome Italy I believe, yes @@chongo ?

I was going to mention Happy Joes in my earlier post...That Taco pizza is awesome....Pricey, but very good
