Playoff Rankings

Just curious, in how many games with those teams you have ranked ahead of the Badgers would Wisconsin be favored?

A 1-loss WIS B1G champ doesn't make the final-4, but an undefeated WIS B1G champ does. Simple as that.

Heckler, I like your list. I think that is as accurate as you can get at this point.

From watching the play on the field, UW doesn't belong in the top 7 or 8 IMO.

I concur.

Notre Dame is looking really good, and are a just late FG and fumble (in their loss to GA) away from being undefeated. They are a legit 1-loss final-4 team IMO. 

The initial playoff ranking (October) doesn't mean much as there is a lot of football left to be played but I think the list above is pretty accurate.

The Badgers are really banged up. They need to get healthy, beat Michigan and find a way to put that little weasel McSorley on his ass over and over.

Ned, I don't think it would happen but I would love it if UW gets another shot at PSU and McSorley.  I was at the Big Ten championship game last year and it was unreal how that guy would just chuck the ball of for grabs and the PSU receivers would always come down with it.  

If UW wins out (and I have a hunch it is an if) I think they will be facing O$U which is something I don't want.  My wife is a huge O$U fan and I live among them so it is hell when UW plays O$U.

Ohio State plays at Iowa this week coming off a big win and that's a trap game given how pesky the Hawkeyes can be at home. 

Buckeyes by 17 is a line I have seen

I could see OSU falling victim to that trap game with Iowa.  Iowa isn't great, but they do play tough at home and I think they'll hang in there with them right to the end.  It's kind of up to J.T. Barrett.  If you get the JT Barrett that finished the game last week, OSU wins.  If you get the JT Barrett that can look very very mediocre as a passer, Iowa's got a shot to pull the upset.

Win out it won’t matter...

It is quite interesting to me that UW is kind of a hot topic with some talking heads.  Some of them seem appalled that UW is even in the conversation and others make it a point to say they deserve to get in if they win out.

There is a ton of football to be played and I hope that UW stays grounded and just win what is in front of them and get some extra motivation from the people that doubt them. 

FIGHPHOE93, I completely agree on OSU playing at Iowa.  OSU very rarely goes on the road but this one will be a classic trap game for them.  I don't know much about Iowa but I am hoping and praying they pull it off and I NEVER root for Iowa.

OSU has 5 road games, Wisconsin has 5.

Pikes, you are correct sir and thank you.  Maybe it just seems to me like they are always at home.

Iowa played Penn State down to the wire albeit that was a night game.  The Hawks wrecked Michigan's season a couple of years ago in a similar situation when they were highly ranked.   

Not sure they are a "good" team but have proven they can rise up from time to time and I have to believe Penn State took a lot out of Ohio State this past week.

Iowa driving mid 3Q up 14.  O$U sure looking like they are suffering from a Penn State hangover not to mention they have taken some hits with injuries.  What is crazy to me is how bad that Buckeyes defense looks?   They have given up a lot of points this season which seems a bit uncharacteristic. 

I see this possibly as good news for Wisconsin.  Iowa will certainly leap into the Top 25 if they can hang on and you know they will have a hangover effect next week against Bucky.   Wisconsin needs quality wins to boost their playoff resume.  I would say Northwestern probably qualifies but if Iowa wins today and Wisconsin beats them next week that's OK.

And the committee is going to do everything they can to keep the F***ing Irish ahead of Wisconsin even if Wisconsin are undefeated B1G champions.

If Wisconsin doesn't win out, the BIG10 may get shut out of the NCAA playoffs this year.  It will be hard for a one loss team to make it in.

That is a far cry from a week ago when the polls had Penn State, OSU and Wisconsin in the top six.

Oh, there will be one-loss teams in the playoffs.  It's just that Wisconsin isn't sexy enough to be one of those teams.
