The Big Ten could get shut out this year
Easily.
Still think an undefeated Bucky gets in.
Me too.....
Should move up to #7, maybe leap over TCU to #6. Just win out and let the voters take care of them.

I agree, it'd be a travesty if they didn't.
But hey, one game at a time. Iowa will be a tough game next week.

I see that as possible too Ammo. Just keep winning Bucky!
I don't see an easy game remaining on the schedule. Need to fire on all cylinders and start playing in the first quarter, not the second.
Agreed. And with both OSU and PSU falling, the B1G really has only one shot left to land one of the 4 spots...
You would think with Iowa and Michigan winning both teams should be ranked this week. That can help when UW plays them in terms of improving their strength of schedule.
Win them all and let the chips fall where they may, take care of business is all they can do.
BADGERS up to 3rd in the Coaches Poll. But fall 2 spots to 6th in the AP Poll.
Looks like the Badgers were penalized for O$U and Penn States losses.
At this point, we are not a "playoff" team. Not yet, anyway. Now....IF Horni starts playing better (making better decisions, etc.) and we can stay healthy.....beat Iowa and Michigan CONVINCINGLY.....THEN, we should get in the playoffs if we win the B1G. I think our RPI is pulling us down at this juncture. Either way.....f'em Bucky!

Listening to the talking heads and media this weekend was maddening to me. Every single one of them did whatever they could to discount UW. I honestly and truly believe that if the standings stay like they are now an undefeated UW will be left out. I guarantee that will happen.
But, I for one think they will be harder to ignore if they beat Iowa and Michigan. These two games are the whole season for them and Iowa worries me a lot. The last time UW was 9-0 I think (and I could be wrong) but I think Iowa came in to Madison and beat them.
Wisconsin was 9-0 and went to East Lansing and got throttled. It was the following week UW got beat by Iowa if my memory is correct.
Iowa is certainly going to have some letdown this week as they played a flawless game. Very unlikely that happens again this week and it helps that Wisconsin is at home.

You are correct and thanks for the reminder I tried to suppress that happened.
I haven't watched much of Iowa this year but I would have to believe they were playing out of their minds on Saturday and do like Bucky's chances better since it is at home. I for one would bet that the coaching staff is reminding them all week this week of what could happen if they even for a second look past Iowa.
One at a time and lets just see what happens. F*** em Bucky!!
Is Barry still on the committee?

Aren't their losses testaments to the Big Ten's improving depth/quality of teams? MSU and Iowa are not slouch programs. Bucky just needs to keep winning and ignore the chatter.
Our favorite former coach is leading an Arkansas team that just squeaked by a one win Coastal Carolina team this week. Arkansas, Ole Miss, Florida, Vanderbilt, Tennessee, Missouri, and Texas A&M are all way down this year.
Alabama and Georgia get credit for playing in the supposedly tough SEC, but the SEC is full of crappy teams at the lower half of the conference - just like the Big 10 is.
Alabama's only non-conference game of note was against Florida State (which is now 3-5. There other games were Fresno State and Colorado State.
Georgia has one great non-conference win at Notre Dame. Their other two games are against Stamford and Appalachian State.
Alabama gets a lot of credit for beating an LSU team. LSU's non-conference wins are against BYU, Chattanooga, and Syracuse.
BYU and Utah State are not usually this bad. When Wisconsin scheduled BYU years ago, they probably assumed BYU would be a borderline top 25 team.
If Michigan or Ohio State would be playing Wisconsin's schedule, we wouldn't be having the same conversation.
I don't think Wisconsin will win out - they don't pass the eye test when you watch and I don't trust Hornibrook. But for a program that's been to a Bowl game 23 of the last 25 years, been ranked in the top 25 17 times in that period and in the top 10 7 times it's amazing that they constantly have to prove that they belong. It's been a quarter of a century and they are still judged by perceptions from 40 years ago.

MichiganPacker, excellent points especially in the last two paragraphs. I would bet almost anything that if UW was a blueblood program like O$U, Michigan, Bama, etc. the schedule would be just glossed over as "you can only play who is scheduled" I guarantee that.
And I like what you said that a program like UW who has been very successful since the early 90's still struggles to be seen as really good program. it really boggles my mind.
x 2
Nice job guys, couldn't have said it better myself!
It doesn't matter really. It's about the quality of wins: UW hasn't beaten anyone of note.
They can change that the next two weeks. Iowa and Michigan are ranked so beat them and win the BT and they could make it in the Final 4. Trip up and it's all irrelevant.
There have been 123 Wisconsin Badgers players that have played in the NFL that played for the Badgers in the modern era (since Alvarez arrived).
The best defensive player in the NFL the last 5 years is a alumnus (JJ Watt). The best OT in the NFL during the 2010s is an alumnus (Joe Thomas).
In that time frame, they've produced receivers who were successful in the NFL (Chris Chambers, Lee Evans, and Al Toon); RBs (James White, Michael Bennett, Melvin Gordon); TEs (Daniels, Beckum); and more OL than probably anyone. DBs (Vincent, Fletcher); DL, LBs. Russell Wilson played for them.
It's not like they haven't produced talent. Watt, Thomas, and probably Russell Wilson are all likely headed to the Hall of Fame.
The Iowa QB had a heckuva game against O$U last weekend. If he plays that way again this weekend, it'll be a long day for the Badger Defense. I don't think Iowa will have a let down at all. There's too much at stake and Ferentz gets his team to play well at Camp Randall. It should be a good game. If Horni can just pick up his game a notch....
The Badgers could go undefeated this year and not make the final 4. Lots of ball to be played and someone above them will lose for sure. Does ESPN want a all southern final 4? I wouldn't think they would want to write off the whole north and Midwest. The funny thing about this is the same reason for keeping the Badgers out this year, strength of schedule could happen again. They COULD go undefeated 2 years in a row and be left out. Check this schedule out.
Road games @Iowa, Michigan, Penn State. If they go 3-0 in those games they deserve a chance in the Final Four for the National Championship. .
I just saw on the crawl that Cephus is out for the season.
It's college. Relax. Next man up.
Agree. It seems as if the drop off to "Next man up" in college is nowhere near as dramatic as in the N.F.L.

And what happened to Peavy? Is he even with the team anymore?

90 man rosters.
Loss of Cephus hurts.
If they beat both Iowa and Michigan I will be pleasantly surprised.
In the Big Ten champ game I think they beat MS, but not PS or OSU.
Lots of exciting action going down today.
Georgia loss.
Domers getting pwnt.
Bucky just has to keep winning.
There is NO way they can ignore what our D can do!
I presume we want OK to beat TCU?
Yeah, but Hornibrook gives up 30 points a game.
Alabama.....trouble?
And Notre Dame are a bunch of Frauds.
Blair Kiel posted:Alabama.....trouble?
Now THAT would be amazing!
I'm sure already the 'committee' is choking on their cud. If bama loses, well hell, hard to deny this WI club.
All the talk of $EC and Big 12... $EC is no different than the B1G and it may even be worse mid-down. Big 12 is a joke. There's no D in that league. They should be embarrassed along with the pundits. WI would just dominate them with TOP and Defense.
The Domers do what they do- as in choke in the big games. Miami has dominated them.
Sort of surprised how Auburn took apart Georgia but that's OK too.
