Can't say enough about the OL coach either. Adam Steno is doing a hell of a job..

Pos:

Rodgers looks in mid season MVP form.

See above tweet regarding OL. Simply remarkable to play that well against 2 stout defensive fronts.

3-1 and in 1st place all by ourselves.

Neg:

Injuries. If Jaire has a AC separation, entirely depends on the degree. Let's hope it's minor.

Still not nearly enough pass rush. Gute HAS to look outside and bring in help. If Alexander is out for awhile, all the more reason to. That's the one thing that can hide a secondaries warts.

ST's. Jeebus.

Hell of a job running the ball against a very good Steeler rush defense.

Cobb

Appears we finally found a punter.

Another good game from Campbell.

-

Injury to the best CB.

Offense made too many mistakes in failing to close out the game.

Packers won't face a washed-up Big Ben every week.

Packers offense is good, has a nice balance, but not yet running like a a well-oiled machine.
'Makeshift' OL is over-achieving and that's a good thing. They're real good at run blocking; still need some work on pass pro.
Bojo's punting.
Packers D is probably more lucky than good, but it's hard to argue with their results.

Injuries.

NFL officiating continues to be a joke, at best. We were lucky it didn't cause any real damage today, but anytime officiating influences a game (like causing a swing of momentum, as an example), that's a bad thing for football.

Offensive line.   Bright future and once Jenkins is back we should start shopping Patrick.   CB, ILB or DL would be nice.

Cobb with a clutch game.   Seemed like every catch was on 3rd down.

Defense as a whole kept the opponent off the board.  Yes Ben is washed up, but they did their job.

Love the new punter.

NEGATIVES

FG blocking issues.  That’s 2 weeks in a row we’ve had a problem on the right side.   Not acceptable.

Degura can’t block for shit.  He got abused today.

Jaire injury is huge.   Since we showed no interest in Sherman, there aren’t a lot of external options.  We have to hope Kevin King can play. Ugghhhh.

MLF game management in the 4th quarter.  Normally this is a strength for him so I’ll give him a mulligan.

Grateful we are at 3-1.

Fun to see Cobb play a key role. BTW, what the heck are we trying to do with ESB? Does anyone really see a future with this guy? I don’t. Maybe he was a decoy as a speed WR with MVS out? That’s the only reason I can think of.

MINUS:

Obviously Amari Rodgers ins’t comfortable with punt returns yet. Why not put Cobb back there for now?

Rodgers missed a lot of short throws to guys who were fairly open. Even great players need to practice and improve!

Obviously it’s concerning to see Jaire go down and read it’s an AC joint injury. Add in the fact that Z is out and it makes me worry about this defense. And did you notice the missed tackles today and how Steelers would push and get another 4-5 yards while being gang tackled? They need to wrap up and get players down on the ground right now!

OL has been about 30x better than I expected after week 1. Kudos to staff for making adjustments

Adams and Cobb. Both have the trust of AR and outside of that silly Cobb moment, they both had great games.

Defense did an OK job, decent pressure at times.

You need to extend Bojorquez now.

-

ST (outside of punter) continues to be an adventure in incompetence. Last week's kick was almost blocked because Tonyan did little more than extend his arms while stationary and trying to block 2 guys. Same shit today and no change. Save an incredible gift, you'd have ended the half on a disaster. Whether it was Murphy or Ball or Gute that didn't allow MLF to hire his preferred ST coach to save pennies, whomever made that decision needs to be kicked in the teeth. If I can see a huge issue in the scheme, I'm just shocked that an opposing NFL coach did too!

I know he's basically a rookie and all, but good god is Deguara useless. He's proving why he was at best a 6th round pick.

Speaking of useless, ESB being on this roster should alone be proof that AR's frustrations were well founded.

DBs were burned often today and against a real QB would have been much more tense of a game. If Jaire misses time... Ugh.

I was told Deguara was a beast.  The only thing between him and greatness was an injury last year.  I'm very disappointed.

He was absolutely awful today! Let’s hope it was just an off day. Yikes

I know……what’s that all about???  Dang it, hate he’s missing them.  😡 😡 😡

Positives:

After 1st series, defense got more agressive and was okay.  Some of that was helped by Roethlisberger’s inaccuracies but I still thought they played decently after Quarter 1.

AJ Dillon looked damn good.

Stokes looks like a good CB prospect.  He’s a rookie and at times looks like one, but he makes up for his inexperience with what seems to be very good athletic ability and he seems to have the right mentality for a CB.  Can be beat, but doesn’t sulk and plays better the next down.

Negatives:

As great a history as Ben Roethlisberger has, it’s entirely possible the Pack will not face a QB the rest of the year as inaccurate and immobile as he was today.

As others have pointed out, special teams are bordering on disaster despite having a very good kicker and a very promising looking punter.  Just so disappointing to see the special teams seem to have at least 1 critical breakdown every week.

Last year, the Packers arguably had 9 guys who played at an All-Pro level.

Rodgers, A. Jones, Adams, Bakhtiari, Jenkins, Linsley, K. Clark, Z. Smith, and J. Alexander.

It's possible they will play next week without 5 of them.

Of course, as long as Rodgers is playing and their OL can hold their own (which as others have said, kudos to their coaching staff for improving what looked to be a disaster in Week 1), they have a chance against anyone.

Even when they gang tackled, they still gave up more yards. Not a good showing, esp in light of 23 actually making a good play and getting injured on it.

I think Lefleur has done a good job preparing the team the last 3 weeks. They’re playing at their level, and he deserves credit for that.

Defense is a steadily improving work in progress. That arrow is also pointed up.

I like that they’re trying to use Dillon more downhill. Seems simple, but single back plant and go is where he’s going to thrive. OL needs to learn that no play is over just because Dillon is wrapped up. Help him move the pile- block to the whistle.

Rodgers was good today, not great. His good is great on anyone else’s standards…

I think 10, maybe even 9, games wins the division this year.   We just need to grind through this rough schedule and injury trouble.    Get healthy and get rolling as we earn a ticket to the dance.   Anything can happen from there.

Oooof.  We say that more often than not it seems like.

Positives:

First place all to ourselves

I was concerned that the Packers might have had a let down after the dramatic win last week.  MLF had them ready to go

OL.  Not I can say enough about the job the OL coach and the players have done. I hope they are paying the OL very well

I really liked how this offense is balanced.  MLF will stick to the run and I like it

Defense was pretty decent and seems to be making some strides

Negatives:

An Injury to #23 hurts the whole defense.  Shut down corners are truly a luxury

I am still very concerned with the special teams

- Rodgers has 3 or 4 throws every game that you're scratching your head and saying "WTF???" Either overthrown or a McNabb worm burner. It's really weird.

+ A perfect throw to 17 on 4th down that Cobb defended wonderfully. I think I found our replacement CB while Jaire is out.

+ W

+ more balance

+/- gary...I don't know, he showed up but he just has no move

- 23 going down

- The play calls down the stretch.  Up 27-10 with 10:05 to go and they go Dillon for 5, Dillon for 4, Dillon for 5, Dillon for 6.  Ok, Dillon just ground 3 minutes off the clock so with 7:11 to go and a 2nd and 4 at the PIT 35....Dillon, right?  Rong, lets go incomplete to Tonyan, 3rd and 4 lets go incomplete to Tonyan again and 4th and 4....WTH, lets go incomplete to Adams and give the ball back with 6:57.  If you're willing to go for it on 4th and 4 there, why not give the ground game a chance to pick up the 1st and kill some more clock.

Definitely need to clean up the kick protection and make it a priority. Team could easily be 1-3 rather than 3-1.

Yep.  And I thought the Pack thoroughly outplayed the Steelers most of the day.  But that 1 horrible special teams mistake easily could have been a 10 point swing in the Steelers favor that would have made this a nail biting game.

Ridiculously poor execution on that play by our special teams and incredibly lucky the refs made what looks like an incorrect call on that penalty.  One thing I could not tell was whether Steelers lined up in neutral zone, but that wasn’t the call on the penalty.

EVERY QB has 3-4 bad throws a game or more .... Brady had 10-12 last night

Agreed. And the positive thing about Rodgers' bad throws is that they are usually misses that have no chance of being a turnover. He's like the pro golfer that approaches a shot in a way that he's trying to make sure that if he misses, it's to the correct side of the hole to avoid a disaster.

Romo had some insightful analysis about the throw that Adams caught just out of bounds last night in the 4th quarter. He said that Rodgers probably approached that cautiously based on the game situation. Protecting a lead deep in your own territory on third and long you don't want to throw a pick 6, so the risk/reward is different and you throw the ball a little farther outside to take away the potential disaster if you miss inside too much. That meant that Adams was about 6 inches too far to the sideline to keep his feet in.

I didn't notice, but did the refs throw the flag immediately at the snap or a little after (figuring as Romo said that there was no way multiple guys could be that close to blocking a field goal without being offsides)?

Look, I'm not a Special Teams coach in the NFL, but can someone explain to me what Tonyan is doing here?  Is this what he's supposed to be doing? Far as I can tell he extends both arms weakly. Doesn't seem like a great scheme to have a guy try to block two guys, especially when whatever this is, is the way he approaches it.
