Pres Smith has brought it all season

Earth Quaykes

Nixon might be a pro bowler

Negs-

Zone WTF defense

Our two best players on offense need to not turn the ball over.  That being said, how is forward progress not called on Jones?  Also, if running the wrong route gets Lazard that wide open, its the right route

'You going all the way or no?" is the correct way to say it on a night like tonight

+ A win is a win

+ Offense did enough to win, stuck with run

+Defense did enough to win, 5 sacks, just 12 points

+Nixon/special teams

+ Rookie contributions

- Douglas lateral after INT = WTF

- Rodgers expecting his WRs to have ESP

- Dillon concussion?

+Cutting Watkins looks smart now, they had 3rd RB Patrick Taylor when they needed him most.

Onto Miami in Rodgers attempt to keep Love off the field, err get to playoffs…

Nixon offers some real juice to the return game.

Why was Amari Rodgers still returning for so long?

"We should have had him in there earlier," LaFleur says of Keisean Nixon as the returner.

Would love for a reporter to find out if there was pressure to play 3rd rounder Amari Rodgers over Nixon.

The only rational explanation for an otherwise inexplicable decision.

I've wondered for a while now whether the Cobb/Amari relationship played a factor in the decision to keep giving Rodgers chances. It's such a blatant indictment on MLF's ability to run a team. With every splash play Nixon makes, it becomes more glaring.

+
Win
Zach Tom I think is our swing tackle for the next decade
12 had all kinds of time to throw
We were able to consistently and effectively RTFB
Doobie, while not very explosive, has shown he could be a reliable possession WR in the clutch.

-
Win hurts our draft position
It was the fucking Rams at home...should have been a gimme
Defense played just well enough, I fear MLF, in a moment of delusion, may convince himself he doesn't have to make a tough decision and fire Dingle Barry.

+ Walker & Amos made TFLs on run plays

+ Clark couldn't be blocked

+ People can moan that we didn't win by more, but we won by the largest margin of any team in the league this week.

+ Only punted once

- Last season I thought Douglas was a smart player .... it is as if Darius Randall's brain was inserted into his head this offseason

- If not for our two turnovers we would have scored in the 30s

++++ We Won! Watson and Doubs on the field, together. Wyatt had a good game busting through the line. Quay was a stud! Preston had 2 sacks! Reed in  there, mopping up. Zach Tom was solid at LT. Hollins played well, for just getting here. Keisean Nixon is a God-Send at Returner. Kingsley Enagbare is a keeper! Kenny Clark played a great game for the Packers last night. Running game was good with Dillon, Jones and Taylor. Taylor was good, when Dillon went down. I like him a lot. Got to win the next three, but it's one game at a time, in my book. An almost nine minute drive at the end of the game, to seal the win. When's the last time the Packers have done that?

-----Rasul's stupid, and I mean stupid, lateral. No one will remember that he intercepted Mayfield's pass, there. No one will ever forget that stupid, and I mean stupid, lateral. Our run Defense starts things off with a huge gain for the Rams, running the ball. They had a couple other gaffes, but looked to be improving, mostly because the Rams had to throw the ball to try and catch up. Barry's soft zone scheme has got to go--and it can take Barry with it. Dillon in concussion protocol. I hope he is okay. It's December. We need a healthy Dillon pounding the ball. Oh yeah, what was up on that Lazard pass play where he stopped running and Aaron ended up overthrowing him for a pick to Rapp? Lazard has to get his mind righted, by the Dolphin's game. The officiating, allowing Jones to be manhandled, which ended up in a turnover. The play should have been blown dead when forward progress was stopped. Non-whistles , like that, are going to get players hurt. It was the Hochuli crew, so what else is new?

+++ Walker looked fast and aggressive last night. Nixon is a game-changer on returns. Doubs was back and made some good catches. Watson made some good plays; albeit, he missed the secret signal that would have gotten him another TD. Late-season Clark returned. Jones ripping off chunks because the OL gave him holes. Rodgers wasn't pissy. Marcedes helping out with the huge first down.

--- Lazard wasn't his usual steady self going back to last week as well. While the INT was debated if it was him giving up on his route or him supposed to stop due to the DB coming in and with help over the top, it wasn't a good look and he was targeted only two times. Campbell seems to have slipped a bit back to reality. Stupid lateral Rasul. Some stupid penalties as well. The Rams are a bad team, so this win is probably just smoke and mirrors.

Regardless, I wonder how far back you'd have to look to see GB hold the ball for more than eight minutes to close out a game? That was the colder-than-the-weather dagger.

+ The defense. Yes, it was the Rams and they gave up too many 3rd and longs, but 12 points will win most games.

+ As others said, the last drive was much needed and long overdue.

+ Nixon is a stud!

+ AR looked like he was having fun during and after the game which hasn’t been the case most of the season. Even when Lazard stopped his motion early….”Are you gonna go all the way?”

- The Douglass int. An int should be a positive but it was thrown right to him so there was no reason not to catch it, and then he went into full Darren Sharper mode.

- The dumb secret hand signals and offensive miscues. Watson missed a sure TD, Lazard forgot to motion all the way, and then the long incompletion to Lazard no matter who’s fault it was.

14 games into the season and the WRs still aren’t on the same page with AR several times/game. I know AR is a genius and he’s been doing this for 15 years, but maybe it’s time to dumbify things a little to eliminate the miscommunication.

I don’t know how much truth there is to the story but towards the end of the game they mentioned how AR and his WRs have started spending more time together and getting to know each other and it’s starting to show on the field. Aikman’s response, β€œThat’s great but they should have started doing that before the season started.”

Again, who knows how accurate that is but if that is the case, then Troy was absolutely right and it was a bad look for AR and his WRs.

I’m going to go wash my mouth with soap now for agreeing with something Aikman said.

I've grown to dislike Rodgers, but his call out to Lazard to continue his motion was hilarious-and a tribute to the crowd at Lambeau for being so quiet during offensive snaps.

running game looks mostly better..I can't believe Jones isn't hurt more...and I think Patrick Taylor could be used more

I thought  Buck  was the reason I hate the Buck/Aikman broadcasts, but it really is Aikman

As soon as Adams was traded, Rodgers should have been working to establish connections with the young WRs. A guy making 50 million should be showing up at all the OTAs for just that reason. He can take afford to take a private jet - it's not like he has to spend two full days travelling to make connections in O'Hare or Detroit to spend a few hours at some OTAs.

Me and Fedya are gonna buy Twitter and stream an endless discussion about the body  of  work of Fred MacMurray

I am a proud alum of Carroll University (previously Carroll College) in Waukesha. A little-known fact is that Fred MacMurray attended Carroll for a few years in the 1930s, but was kicked out before he could graduate. The rumors were that he was expelled for getting caught coming out of a girl's dormitory at 3 in the morning. In the 1930s, that was enough to get you in a lot of trouble (although additional rumors were that this was a pattern, not a one-time infraction).

It's one or other - either show up to OTAs to develop a deeper connection with the WR group, or dumb down the offense so the communication issues are limited.  We're seeing it can't be both.

Two different viewpoints on what could have been done. If he had established a connection during OTAs, we might have seen better play from the start. Since he didn't show, now it's they may have to dumb things down.

Per the earlier article, the issue is the receivers not knowing/following the route adjustment hand signals. Those hand signals are not revealed before the final roster is set ie the start of the season. OTAs can't fix that.

The receivers know the route tree as it's called in the huddle. Adjustments are used when the called route will be defended, according to Rodgers' assessment of the defensive alignment. That's his job. I'm pretty sure AR doesn't check out of routes he thinks will be open. Dumbing it down means what?  The receiver stays with the route called, no matter how well defended? How is that more effective?

I believe the effectiveness of past veteran receivers (Jennings, Jones, Jordy, Jdavantae) stemmed from their concurrent recognition of the defensive alignment. They didn't need many hand signals because they saw the same thing AR saw. One reason receivers  do little in their first year (as a group). It's a little much to gain that acumen from film study alone.  Thus, hand signals. Not knowing them cold by the date of the earlier article is negligence by the receiving group AND the coaching staff. I think week 2 should be the cutoff and, given how Rodgers seems to freeze out guys early in the season, I think he does too.

There were some alumni still alive when I was in college in the 1980s that did. When he passed away, he was worth about 150 million in today's dollars and Carroll didn't get a cent.

Hilarious stories around LA about how cheap the guy was. Would spend a lot of time trying to determine the cheapest vodka on the shelf before ounce-unit price stickers were common.
