Positives: Overall, Hundley looked pretty good going up against Pittsburgh. I'd like someone to find another back up QB that could have played this well against, arguably, the best team, right now, in the AFC. Damarious Randall is proving that he is our best DB, despite all the well deserved flack from earlier games. Blake Martinez is a football machine! Davante Adams is legit! Vogel looked good punting the ball. Jamaal Williams is a solid RB.

Negatives: The non call helmet to helmet on Hundley from Watt. It seems the league wants to protect the QB unless they are Green Bay QBs. The long FG McCarthy asked Crosby to attempt was a mistake. I'd rather punt and pin them deep than try to stretch the limits of our kicker. Hundley is not Aaron Rodgers. If you think Rodgers would have won this game, or played better than Hundley did, you may be right, but don't pin this loss on Hundley, pin it on Anthony Barr.

Regarding comments that Rodgers probably doesn’t make that big of a difference last night.

You’d be hard pressed to find anyone that would wager Rodgers can’t at least put Crosby in great FG position if he’s given 1:20 remaining and a couple timeouts. With that kind of time left AR probably scores 7.

Hundley went 3 and out and didn’t manage the offense very well on that drive. So yes, Hundley put together a solid body of work last night. But to say Rodgers doesn’t make a big difference is quite a reach.

Rodgers may have been able (or MM may have had confidence in him) at the end of the half to put up at least a FG.  Ya never know.

- the Brown sideline grab. Putting your hands on the ball is not controlling it. The league needs to grow a pair with these types of catches. He was dragging his right foot when the ball touched his hands, then his right foot came off the turf as he secured/controlled it as he went out of bounds.

I hate the NFL when is a catch, a catch rules. When there is a catch in the field of play, they have to make a football move before it is considered a catch, but a toe tap on the sideline with a bang-bang millisecond possession is considered a catch? Jordy has made some great sideline catches that I consider a catch, and there have been some I would shake my head at when the refs would give give them to him.

I watched parts of the game only to focus back at the end when Pittsburgh got the ball back and our D choked (again) letting a team get in position for a game winning score which they did.  Really a shame considering Hundley, Williams, Martinez, Randall, King, Adams played pretty well.

In a season of "what ifs" this might take the cake.  Stealing that game could have turned the entire season around but bad coaching cost us yet again.   I don't care for the moral victory angle;  at some point especially Dom they need to be held accountable.   Teams have figured out Capers and his players still don't seem to always grasp the playcalls.

Interesting sequence...

endof1sthalf

Called a TO after nearly 15 seconds ran off the clock after the 12 yard run, why? If you aren't trying to get 3 before the half, why call TO there? If you were thinking about 3 before the half, why not call the TO as soon as the 12yrd play ended, when there were 59 seconds left?

To me, this sequence is why the 57yrd FG try makes even less sense.

Why was Spriggs playing?  After last weeks game I would have though he would have been exiled to the bench for life but there he was starting the game. Spriggs was not a problem last night but McCray wasnt a problem in the past seveal weeks. If McCray was healthy why was he benched. Does Ted Tell MM to play his draft choices over the Free Agent pickups regardless of effectiveness?

Very disappointed no one bit on my Watt comment.

I liked Bakhtiari's Watt comment better, nothing personal.

He still has to show me more. He's been downright terrible in three performances. If this is a performance that is actually more the norm, than what a shame.

Did anyone ask Bakh if he saw Cam Heyward?

I haven't heard why Spriggs was playing, but it looked like they left a TE in pretty much every dropback to help Spriggs. They were not going to let him one on one if they could help it.

Ha Ha Clinton Dix looks like he's trying to play his way out of town. Dude is avoiding contact at all cost and he may have ended the game without a grass stain.

Coaches and players must see that on game film. He's stealing out there.

No different than what the coaches have been doing (stealing/collecting a paycheck) for about 3-4 years now. Players aint' stupid

Pretty well known among NFL agents representing GB rookie clients, that if your signed anywhere from 1st-5th round, your chances of being cut for poor performance/effort/practice habits etc are slim to none. Ted simply won't abandon his chicks how matter how much they suck during their initial contract.

Unless you sustain some catastrophic injury during your rookie contract and get an injury settlement, you are going nowhere.

HaHa is a free agent next year. He has probably had his agent contact the Packers and Ted being Ted is most likely not in teh same ball park in money so HaHa is  doing everythign he can to stay healthy so as not to affect his payday. Business decision. He also sees how not playing in Doms defense has been good for other d-backs that left the team.

Bam!

It almost looks like HaHa is playing with a bad shoulder or something. He is definitely avoiding contact whenever he can, but last year we were all about his willingness to tackle. Something has flipped.

How long does Hundley hold the ball and make it obvious he's not going to throw? Long enough that TJ Watt backs up into pass coverage, sees Hundley not even looking down the field but instead looking for a hole in which to hide, and Watt runs in and tackles Hundley for a loss. Hundley could have at least kept his eyes downfield and kept Watt in place.

I thought it was interesting last night that they showed a safety cheating toward Brown, then trying to scramble back into where he should be in coverage just as the ball is snapped. If you've got guys screwing around showing this and then that and then trying to find/get to their spot or man, no wonder they are late trying to cover. On that play, the safety was cheating but not too much so he wouldn't be too far from where he needed to be in the coverage call. So just before the ball was snapped, the safety peeled off Brown and was running over to get to his mark and bam, it's an easy pitch and catch to Brown on single coverage and we lose. If you have guys running around when the ball is snapped, or trying to cheat to get to where they're supposed to be, they're not in any position to make/stop a play. In the play mentioned, if that safety (HaHa?) just stays until the snap of the ball maybe Ben thinks Brown is double-covered and looks elsewhere.

The play that represents what we missed most was the short incomplete pass to Jordy when he was matched up with TJ Watt.  That we were unable to connect is sad.  My question is what Jedi mind tricks do Jordy and A-Rod use to take effect as soon as they saw who Jordy was match up with.  People wonder what has happened to Jordy Nelson since A-Rod went down,  No other play or lack of a change in play represents better.

I also miss the no huddle rushed plays and hard snap counts.

That was a good play by Watt, but you have to wonder if Hundley waits another half second then Nelson can separate. If Nelson truly can't run away from a LB anymore, he's no better than a 3rd WR. I can't believe that is true yet.

Rodgers delivers that pass to Jordy right as he makes his cut, before Watt has a chance to get on him. There was a lane too. You can see Jordy in front of Watt and Hundley is still setting to throw.

Waiting longer wouldn't work either, Adams is turning his route in too, so the slot CB would be in that space. The right play is to throw it sooner, to either Nelson or Adams.

Good point on Adams coming right at the play. I didn't see that during the game. Adams is actually more open, but you can't fault Hundley for reading pre-snap that Jordy is matched up on a LB. Watt either knows from film study that Jordy is going to break inside and/or Jordy didn't sell a potential cut outside off the line.

Okay, the shuttle pass to Cobb for 1 yard on 3rd and 2. Not sure what Cobb saw, and by the looks of it on the All-22, if he takes it wide he might have scored. Jordy had the CB locked up outside, and see the reaction of Rip and DRodg in the 3rd/4th still shots. Looks like WTF man?

Pleasantly surprised the way the team and Hundley played vs Pitt. no turnovers while getting 3 of our own. Williams ran well against a stout D. Some big plays while we were down a number of stars.

Nice that MM had this team ready to go as big underdogs....

but WTF to think against teams like the lions and ravens? where was the same level of urgency? Had we won those 2, we'd be in solid shape for a Rodgers return.

If Mike McUnderachieverson brings the same preparation against the Bucs and Browns as he did vs the Steelers, there is still some hope
