I don't think JJ ever had Davante's quickness and hops.

That was the Gatorade talking.
FLPACKER postedWe all tend to hyper-focus on the Packers. Watch other games, every team makes these errors. The game is impossible to play error free. Just reread Lombardi's "Run to Daylight", which chronicles the week leading up to, & a game for first place between the Lions & Packers. We dominated the game but turned the ball over something like 4 times & barely won.....Lombardi is lucky that the internet wasn't around back then
No doubt that we focus on our own team's mistakes. And no doubt there is no such thing as error free football. But the teams that compete and win consistently limit those mistakes by playing fundamentally sound football. And teams that consistently make mistakes wind up at 5-6. The maddening thing is the mistakes are happening across the board. If it's not Daniels its peppers or Perry with the crushing penalty. These self inflicted errors keep drives alive and lead to points. How many times this yr has the GB def gotten to third and long and had major breakdowns or penalties? Too many to count. When a team is as depleted as this team is, it simply cannot afford mental mistakes or missed tackles or drive sustaining penalties. And it was playing out in very similar fashion on Monday night. Fortunately Philly's wrs and offense were stagnant. Mistakes are going to happen, but when all three phases take turns making critical ones, you get losses and close games that really shouldn't be close at all.
Not perfect, but I will take Monday's performance any day. Beating a team that was undefeated at home by 2 TDs, while playing without 6 starters, is a feat that I choose to praise. We'll see where we go from here.
Last night's Cowboys game was a perfect example of my above post. Dallas is supposed to be the best in the NFC. Did they play "fundamentally sound football" last night? They; 1) Fumbled the ball deep in their own territory 2) Had two penalties by the same player to kill two second half drives 3) Had two encroachment penalties in a row. 4) Muffed a snap on a third & one play which if converted would have ended the game 5) Committed a penalty on the two point conversion that lucky for them was not called.
