GSANDS - I believe there was under 2 minutes to play.  No coaches challenges, all both reviews.

But what was it about a seemingly normal play that made them decide to review it. The refs had already called it GB's ball.

I think it was during the Rams game yesterday that the announcers kept talking about Rams should throw the challenge, couldn't understand why the Rams did not challenge. Went to commercial and they came back still talking about not throwing the red flag.  Then all of the sudden a light must have come on or somebody whispered in their ears.  The clock read 1:34 left in the game.  Then they finally said it had to be a booth review which was exactly what was going on. DOLTS!!!

I do believe that Nagy lobbied for a review even though he couldn't throw the flag based on sideline shots of him bitching to the refs.

All booth reviews except the turnover/COP at the end of GB-PHI week 4. That still burns me up.

The Packers script the 1st 'n' plays for the offense every game. In the script for the Bears was a play for MVS on a go route and a 3rd down play with GMO on a crossing pattern just past the sticks. They both drop the throws that were on target.

So Rodgers spends much of the game looking elsewhere.

The pitch/fumble play had so much going on, I imagine replay officials everywhere were humping air.
In reality, it capped off another game of bizarre penalties, both called and not,  and/or interpretations of the same.
Game officials can make the right calls more often than not, but when they gaffe, it's usually huge.

NFL is doing everything they can to get rid of those hits.   If they didn't call catch interference it would have been called a personal foul.    Watch the highlight again, the announcers says "multiple flags" on the play.   So basically the zebras see the big time hit and just auto toss a flag at it these days.     If you're surprised by that call, you haven't been watching.

Bears ran a nearly successful Hail Mary play on the 2nd to last play. Then they come back with a play that is probably a 5% or less chance of success. Why not just chuck up another Hail Mary? Dumb.

Bears fans have a gripe, that flag on the punt fumble was about as bad a call as I've seen.

Disagree

just running tests on what doesn't get a "like"

I like the chances of the Hail Mary way better than what they tried. You might see those types of plays result in a TD every 5 years or so. Hail Mary plays happen all the time.

Good start. I wonder if a list of successful 3 or more lateral plays on the final play from scrimmage of the game list exists? I bet if it does it's a pretty short one.

I don't think HaHa was expecting Kumerow to make a move there.

Yes I believe his playing style is to assume ball carriers will stand still so he can tackle them and wait for QBs to throw the ball directly too him. He's elite when either of those things happen.

Since he really earned more PT during the Detroit game he's had 5 games with 45+ snaps, including 52 at San Fran. A little light on snaps vs Chargers, Panthers, Giants and Skins. Kind of strange since MVS snaps went way down after the KC game and GMo's have been down too except for the Niners game.
