I think you stick with Carlson and hope Joseph doesn't go anywhere. I do not trust either of them for an entire season or even a full game, but Carlson still has room for growth while Joseph is who he is right now. It's a tough call, but I gotta go with youth.
With Heath and Melton we have the benefit of '23. Just looking at what we've seen in '24, I'd say:
Heath > DuBose > Melton
If I'm including what we know from '23:
Melton > Heath > Dubose.
Typically ST would factor in a decision like this, but Bisaccia (IIRC) prefers safeties and linebackers with the new KO format.
Tough call for Gutekunst.

I hope Melton is in that same position. He may not have quite as strong of case as Mosby, but he is a play-maker! He's a better (if not much better) version of Lazard.
Hmmm, I do not think Alan Lazard when I watch Melton out there. Heath seems like the new Lazard to me.
I think Carlson was 33rd in PAT's last year.
33rd.
if your fourth safety is doing this, youâre in a pretty good spot on the back end pic.twitter.com/PnIXYeN2jj

It's the missed 41-yarder against the Niners that I can't shake.
@tsr86free posted:Heath is probably the WR7 here, but damn, I hope they keep 7. Maybe they can grab a 6-7 round pick for him for next season if they donât keep 7, and assume heâd not make it through to the PS.
I think they keep 7, but if they cut ties with Heath, Melton or Dubose, Buffalo could be a trade option as they are really thin at WR.
Josiah Toure for a 2nd
