FG range now. The only way the Badgers have a chance is if PSU gives something away. Unfortunately, their QB is not Locke-like.
A backup that had no prep is totally outplaying Locke. Lol
TD Penn State. Badgers might as well put their scrubs in.
Dagger
What an embarrassing display of defense
Well ok thenβ¦β¦..ugh, that just made me sick.
Much like the USC game the Badgers just shit the bed in the second half.
Embarrassing Defensive effort by Bucky, on that TD.

It's three things.
Locke is not very good.
The Penn State DL has dominated the Badgers OL in the run game.
Longo doesn't really do anything to confuse the Penn State defense - maybe because he knows he doesn't a QB he can trust to do much other than make simple reads (and that's questionable too)
Looked good for a while but just not enough to keep up with the big boys.
Well, our overrated OL showed up small once again. Locke made a killer INT. Defense collapsed. Sound familiar? This is what happens against teams not named Purdue and Rutgers and Northwestern.

I think Locke is going to throw another pick six to make the final score even worse.
Thank the maker for beer.
I would bet 50 bucks that Locke throws another pick.
Bye, bye, going to watch my tv line up of scary moviesβ¦β¦.like when Bert Favor threw that INT TO LOSE THE NFC game for the queens!!!! π π€£ π right, sorry that wasnβt scary that was a holiday celebration.
The funny thing is Penn State probably gets beat by 30 next week.
Watching the Badgers is like watching the Brewers. They beat the bad teams, but they just don't have enough talent to beat the good teams when it matters unless they play perfectly.

Pretty good blocking on the TD
Whatβs the record for WR drops in a game? This has to be close. Pauling has more drops than catches.
Locke with some stat padding against a Joe Barry prevent defense.
Should have been INT #2
Maybe pick #3
Locke with two passes in a row that should have been picked

Since you posted this, Michiganpacker2, Locke almost threw 2 INTs!
Terrible pass through the end zone by Locke.

Actually a good decision to throw it away.
Locke throws behind the WR (slowing him down) to end the game for good.
Williams short of the line to gain, on 4th down. Game over. 28-13 Penn State wins it.
PSU rolls over PU.

I thought a Badger was open in the right corner. Maybe not.
For the 1,000th time, if Fickell wants to get serious about contending they need a real goddamn QB. That ainβt Locke. Iβm pretty sure it wasnβt Van Dyke either.
#3 vs unranked, coulda been a much worse outcome. Without a legit top tier QB Bucky will continually fall to the big dogs.
I'm with DD. I was expecting WI to be down by 14 or more in the first half.
There are many reasons WI lost this game but the bottom line is that good teams beat bad teams and WI isn't a good team. Unless WI digs deep and starts shelling out money for a quality QB and other decent players then I think games like last night will continue to be the norm. Welcome to the world of NIL football.
On the bright side. At least WI has a decent kicker. lol
......shelling out money for a QB....
Hard to get excited about watching about a bunch of transfers playing against other transfers.....go team?

It's basically professional football without a salary cap and with unlimited player movement every year.
We (Wisc and similar teams) will be almost like the old Kansas City Athletics, a pipeline to the Bamas (Yankees) of the world. They get our good guys, we get their castoffs. This is really why they went to a 12 team playoff, it is an illusion that some team other than the rich, elite can win.
it may happen once in a very blue moon but not often.
Is Indiana an illusion? BYU? Iowa State? Boise State? Kansas State?
Those arenβt blue blood programs and itβs possible most of them make the playoff this year.
Iβm tired of hearing all the excuses why this team canβt compete or canβt win. They are a top 20 generating revenue program in the country, with or without NIL.
Fickell is being paid as a top 15-20 coach.
Going .500 or 7-5 is unacceptable. You want to win and win big? They are going to have to open up the checkbook. Especially to get a real QB.
They were never going to beat Alabama but if they had a decent QB they beat USC and Penn State. They probably still lose to Oregon but a 2 loss WI team is absolutely in the playoffs and that should be the expectation.
It was getting harder to get excited ( For me ) about college football even before the NIL era due to programs like Alabama , O$U and other perennial championship contenders "acquiring" the lions share of the top players each year. Good for the athletes ... I guess ?
NIL is slowly killing my interest in WI basketball too.
This one pretty much played out like I thought it would. Play a blue blood tough at home for a while but ultimately, they would be the one to flinch first and make the huge mistake. I do think they did play their hearts out but the PSU talent just took over.
My only coaching complaint is that Longo kept running the ball right at them and that was not working at all and the defense couldn't get off the field. What is it with football teams in the state of Wisconsin not being able to get off the field defensively?
