Definitely should let him go. He's not getting better, he's getting worse. Giving him a fat contract will only cause him to be even less motivated. He was one of the WORST DLineman in NFL when it came to stopping the run this year

Pack would be wise to spend the money elsewhere. Can't be giving out extensions/overpaying for marginal talent. They already gave Brad Jones a bad extension, they have Hawk locked up and they just locked up Burnett who looked bad this year. Can't do it again. Let Raji walk

I won't lie, when I heard the Pack offered Raji that 8 mil a year contract, it made me start to wonder if TT has lost touch with this team a bit.  I know he likes to keep his own guys but wow, this guy hasn't played well in 3 years and you want to give him a blockbuster deal?  They are DAMN lucky he turned that contract offer down.

I'm not sure he isn't doing something the coaches love but we can't fathom. Like Hawk. He plays more snaps than any other interior DL by far and there is has been concern for a few seasons that he gets worn down. And like Hawk he's always out there for us to complain about.

He might be as tired of the Packers defensive scheme as we are him. If he leaves make sure he takes Brad Jones with him.

Hard to get injured on the sidelines.

He had 8 tackles and 3 assists, so ample opportunity to get injured the way things have been going for this team.

TT hasn't done well with LBers. Giving Hawk an extension, then Brad Jones

Another angle to this is if there are indeed any coaching changes on defense, namely DC. If Raji is re-signed, they better have different plans for him at the least.

I still am confident Raji is a good player, but if he is 'tanking' it because he's unhappy in his role, I don't want him on the team. Take that piss poor attitude elsewhere. Otherwise, I would expect a modest contract, commensurate with his production. There's no way he can command Top-5/Top-10 pay, and I doubt he'll get that from anybody. Somebody may surely pay more than what Green Bay offers, but today's salary cap has ended the Haynesworth-type deals for good, IMHO.

Its a 3-4 defense. That's part of it. Its the reason Raji will be re-signed. Its the reason there won't be more like Daniels who does not play in the base defense. Its the reason TT can't draft the same way on defense that he can on offense. The styles and abilities of Lacy, Starks, Cobb, Boykins, etc are different. But effective. The OL have played multiple positions. But the Packers have to pass on defensive players because "he isn't a 3-4 DE, DT or LB". Its why they have to reach for players like Nick Perry, who isn't an OLB but a good situational pass rusher who would probably be better in a 3-point stance. The prototypical 3-4 LB just got a $66 million dollar extension. Its one of the differences between the 49'ers, who play multiple fronts well, and the Packers.

Its theraputic to rant about Capers, Raji etc. but its a good bet they come back.

Sick and tired of hearing that Raji does what a 3-4 NT is supposed to do. If he does, and that is a big IF, he does it worse than most. The stats speak for themselves and I have posted the numbers of guys playing 3-4 nt before. Raji blows

OK, tell me what you see in this chart?  A lot of the big money is not producing (r underproducing) and needs restructuring or replacement.  The DBs are making far too many tackles, as opposed to the DL and OLBs, meaning OLinemen are hitting the second level far too quickly and allowing big runs.  Cripes, Andy Malumba almost matched the output of Nick Perry and Clay Matthews and only cost the Packedrs $15.95/year and a can of Spam.  Yes, there is trouble across the board.  Strategic upgrades will also make some players better.  Just some food for thought and discussion.

It's really surprising to me that so many people here think Raji is doing his job well enough.    If you watch the games over and just focus on line play, you will see him getting single blocked more often than not.   When that happens, it's vital for him to be able to disengage because a Olinemen is now free to get to the ILB.

His job is to be good enough to require a consistent double team..  That is not happening and it becomes simple math at that point.  5 on 5 inside with 2 guys having nearly 50 pound edge or more on our ILB's.

If the nose gets doubled, we have free ILB that can find the ball.

I like Raji---Stats are misleading--if you look at the defensive stats above---They should erect a 100 foot statue of AJ Hawk towering over Lombardi and Lambeau...Raji's had less snaps in passing downs. It shows in our inability to collapse  the pocket--the same coordinator that let Mulumba play with no legs let this happen for a whole season...I think that Coordinator is done. Teams do  continue to double team Raji because they are aware of the YAC they get with our ILBs...If you like stats, I see he was rated number 7 last year and part of his rating this year is about less snaps...you want to rip on a performer let's go to Morgan Burnett..what a tough year...culminated with his inability to break on the lolly pop thrown to Davis---Hey Morgan--That's AJ Hawk one on one with Davis---I think you might shade that way ---that was the ball game...Capers is done and with him will go his version of the 3-4...depending on who they have in mind for DC will depend on whether they keep a 337 pound nose tackle that can move like Raji....I pay him--he's a high quality person who will play after getting paid....see also Joe johnson, Jamal Reynolds, not paying Cullen Junkins etc etc etc.
