Attention to detail and focus appear to be a problem for Janis. Hard to see him gaining AR's trust given his current trajectory and expecting him to step forward might be just wishful thinking.
Yup, but I cannot forget how much the Packer's offense scored against perhaps its biggest obstacle (Seattle) when the defense forced 5 turnovers.
The game should have been out of reach, but it wasn't because of the offense.
The offense has played its part in falling short.
Even Jordy slipped in the endzone and dropped a pass that was right at him. That right there was 4 more points we could have really used to win at the end cause we ended up kicking a FG on that drive.

Wayne offers nothing we don't already have. If they were looking at anybody it would be somebody who can take the top off the D, work the deep boundary. Janis can do some of that but not all of it but unfortunately that may be as close as we get to a stand-in for Jordy. More likely that AR and the offense overall shapeshifts to take advantage of other talents. Like the liquid metal guy from terminator 2.

I agree DH13. Although, I have always liked Reggie Wayne and his play. Seems, these guys get older and lose their speed, making life difficult against top defenders. Jennings lost his speed. James Jones lost his speed. Moss. Wayne. Nicks. Welker.
Speed may trump familiarity with our system too. Tough to say. But, Aaron sure likes his guys he knows well. Could maybe see Jones or Jennings after roster cuts if Rodgers wants that...
I bet Ted just holds firm with what he's got. Someone will get some big opportunities to be a star. Adams, Montgomery, Janis with Cobby could make some serious noise.
I'd be really surprised if the NYG let Jones go, and I don't see Jennings being the answer if Nelson is gone for significant time. Jennings is not what he once was and I'd think Thompson has a good memory.
To me Larry Pinkard is an intriguing 5th/6th possibility and Rodgers has had some positive comments about him.
no to both moss boys - washed up, slowed down and, in Santana's case, questionable hands is no way to bolster your lineup.

Man, Larry Pinkard was the most impressive of all the new WRs in OTAs. I kept saying to myself, "who IS that guy? No. 11?" I was surprised as hell, because the guy came off looking like a very sure veteran in his route running and in finishing plays. Didn't look a whole lot like a rookie at all, and that was what I found most impressive. Caught just about everything then. Only caught 2 TC practices, but he made plenty of plays there too.
I like Pink to win a roster spot. A lot.
Obviously, if Moss lost significant speed, forget it.
I recently got The NFL's Top 100. I really enjoy that video. Anyway, when they did Moss, Billick was his commentator, and he basically said when he played he was arguably #1 with height, hands, vertical leap, and speed.
The dude is a freak (meaning that in a good way) and I think he wants one thing - a ring. I think he would be on pristine behavior and would give whatever he has left to get that ring.
But, again, if significant speed is lost, forget it and even a Moss cannot stop Father Time.

I'd be shocked if they pursue Wayne as it's unlike TT M.O., but a relatively cheap 1 year deal for him wouldn't be a big deal at all. Would not do anything over 1 year...
At first this seemed like a BS story to get the Pats to choke up more dough but there may be something to it.
I agree the vet savvy is there. If this happens it's because they don't trust what they have in Janis and White, which unfortunately seems realistic. Montgomery is a rook but also had problems making catches in college. I don't think they envisioned him stepping in a 3rd receiver role, especially in his first year.
The other thing that hurts with losing Jordy is losing his downfield blocking. I think Dervante can have a big year but you have to wonder how he will handle the pressure as a 1 or 2.
Add to that there is no real TE stable that can pick up the slack either. DickRod will hopefully do some good things but it's a bunch of "just a guy" and raw rookies right now.
Crazier things have been suggested. I still think it's an agent ploy but there is some merit after watch Janis and White yesterday.

Wayne would work if he has anything left. Maybe just wait awhile to further evaluate the backups and see who gets cut from other teams if they think they have to go outside the current roster.

When I think of the "current" Randy Moss, I think of a guy that really did not look like his old self in his final year with the 49ers. I actually thought he even hurt the 49ers at times as he was dropping more balls than he used to, and he just wasn't the athletic freak he had been in the past. I just think he's just a shell of the guy he was in the late '90s into the '00s.
Ted should sign Moss just to f*** with Favre.
I doubt TT brings anyone in. It's been a long time since I've heard a Packers "rumor" that actually came true. TT and his guys don't leak anything so if anything goes public, its likely just the media throwing out ideas. Yes, 95% of the teams out there would sign Wayne if they lost their #1 WR and it does make a lot of sense. But the Packers are the 5% that tells their WR/TEs that everyone needs to step up their game a bit to compensate. Adams, Janis, Montgomery, Rodgers and White just got the opportunity of a lifetime, hope they take advantage.
