Check this out, from JSO this past May.

I was surprised he was able to come back from his injury TBH. At least he will be able (it sounds like) to still lead a normal life. Many others with similar injuries aren't as fortunate.

Yepper, you nailed it, Rusty

Richardson beat some pretty long odds coming back from that first neck injury.

2 similar/same neck injuries, especially in that short period of time, surely will mean his playing days are over. I hate it for him, but I'd hate the alternative worse.

Something wrong with Ha Ha Clinton-Dix?  Too tall?

Here here! Totally agree. Sean worked his ass off to become a significant contributor to the Packers. Tough to take, but there is hope he can go on to lead a healthy life with his family. I appreciate all that he did for us.

Pretty shrewd of Ted to keep Banjo. And Chris has been playing very well in Sean's place. Makes me wonder who gets called up when Sean goes on IR? I bet it is Justin Perillo.

I would bet that the Games Started number from those 13 players is double the number of games started by players who suffered career ending neck injuries over the same time period of the next highest NFL franchise.

Meaning the Packers have been shockingly unlucky as far as losing high quality players to neck injuries.

From Wilde's Blog

“That’s like my brother. So I feel for him,” Hayward said. “You feel for any teammate, any brother who goes out with any injury, but especially as severe as his injury. I just try to keep him in high spirits, pray for him and his family. Ultimately, it’s bigger than football.

“I think he’s making the right choice of being out for the season. I don’t know the diagnosis of everything, but the most important thing is just getting him healthy – outside of football. He has a kid, he has a fiancée. It’s bigger than football. And he realizes that.”
