I just read on twitter than Kevin Green passed away today. 58 years old. Wow, that is incredibly too young.

That is a true shame.
Thatβs absolutely horrible.
Oh my..... Very, very sad news... RIP Mr. Greene.
Damn... the Lord said "It is time..."
RIP big fella. Helluva player, person, and coach.
You hate to jump to conclusions but.....
Damn. That's terrible. His contribution during the SB run was pivotal. Sad day.
Damn, I wonder what he died from? You donβt want to keep dipping into CTE but that is way to young.
And you have to wonder if his leaving GB had anything to do with early knowledge of whatever it is that took him.
I wonder if it is true. Nothing on ESPN or SI websites as of 4:30 CST.

I'm curious as well. If memory serves, Greene was rumored to be hitting the steroids heavy during his playing days so I suppose that could be a factor with his cardiovascular system.
Regardless... what a great dude. The NFL lost a great person and a very well-respected ambassador for the game.

Your internet is broke as fuck. Look elsewhere.
I would think the 2 most used sports sites would have the story up by now.
Jesus fuck Goldie.
It's just not true unless ESPN says so...
"The time is now...."
Wow. A flame war on an obituary thread. And not even one I started.
Kevin telling GB he wanted time away in January 14 was him turning off Capers pilot light even if it took a few years to sink in.
RIP Kevin.

You definitely think CTE with a blitzing LB or Safety that was involved in a lot of violent hits (Seau, Duerson, etc.) at top speed. He also definitely had the steriod rumors associated with him.
Or it could just be he was just a really big guy and the complications of being that big take a toll. I don't think anybody ever thought Reggie White was on steroids, but being north of 300 pounds no matter how athletic you are can take a toll. It's why you see health-conscious guys like Joe Thomas and Larry McCarren lose a ton of weight after they retire. Greene wasn't that big, but it's still a potential problem.
I had forgotten that Greene played for Auburn in college. His teammates included Bo Jackson, Brent Fullwood, Ed West, Steve Wallace (49ers OT), Al Del Greco, former Packer DL Donnie Humphrey, and several other guys who played in the NFL.
I hated it when he left us. Talk about BFI ! RIP KG.
Dang.....sad day.....

Jesus Christ man chill out. It wouldn't be the 1st time some news outlets jumped the gun on a story. It's not like I dissed a family member of yours whether they were dead or not.
Kudos for your time with GB, Kevin Greene. You were a difference maker as a player and coach. RIP
RIP Madman...I'll never forget how he helped Clay become great.
IT. IS. TIME....It is time......
I'm at a loss for words but he never was. RIP.

Absolutely terrible news to hear of KGβs passing. Truly heartbreaking! π
KG was a warrior on the field, and he brought his same fire and tenacity to his coaching. So much of my success was a direct result of him, but he was so much more than a coach.
He often referred to me and the other OLBs as his kids and taught us how to be a professional in all aspects of life.
Iβll miss the conversations we continued to have, but the stories of KG will live on forever. RIP Sackmaster!! ππΌππΌ
Terrible. Truly one of the last NFL Wild Men.
I love you Ammo.
Absolutely shocking π’
You probably don't get to take your rings with you to football heaven. So the tattoo was a good call.
Very sad to hear, way too damn young. Always thought of him as a premier pass rusher and a helluva coach.
Joins the long list of former Packer greats (as a coach, not player) who have passed this year. While his time was short, his impact was great. Prayers being offered for him and his family. Way too young!
Way too young.
RIP

LOL
It took three words from Greene to rally the troops and help Matthews seal the Lombardi.
He was the epitome of what the game should be. Gone way too soon.
