Word. And as a healthcare pro who's seen countless patients with depression, it isn't just asking for help or getting on meds. It's the whole process of finding the right combo of medication to help you that's such a huge challenge.

What works for patient A in terms of meds doesn't work AT ALL for patient B and yet they have the same diagnosis. So that's why a lot of patient abandon their med regime because they don't think it works.

See Brittney Spears. Her current situation is precisely that. Her meds worked for a long time. Then they stopped. It royally screwed with her emotions. Now they are figuring out what works again.

Too many people just don't talk about this shit. And way too many suffer needlessly in silence.

Stuffed Jedediah’s full quote yesterday.

“They (Packers) had my back. I’ll have their back now”

Sounds like he has a grounded plan of what he’s going to try and accomplish. Very level headed man that isn’t afraid to talk about his battles.

Best wishes young man.

That's some terrible luck.
Since it happened so late in the year, it's going to put him even further behind the 8-ball. I'm sure the team will hold him out of mini-camp/OTAs, and the same may likely be true for TC.
I also hope this doesn't affect him mentally.

I think that this injury enhances the chances of at least two OL draft picks next year because I don't think he will will be ready until after the season starts.  I would rather the knee get to 100% than to try to count on him before it is ready and there is a further setback.

Good point Chong.

I don’t think we realize how hard it is to have an N.F.L. career.

We met a couple out hiking...super fit. Turns out they’re neighbors. Guy played O-alone at Utah State...said he was in the NFL...naturally I Google him...he was on NFL Rosters for 3 years and appeared in...2 games.

Like a TON of ex-jocks,sports did serve as a   foundation for a very successful sales career.

Sales is a great destination for a lot of former athletes. Depending on the field, there's an endless supply of decision makers wanting to hear about how he can throw the football over them mountains.

My extended family still lives in Waushara County. The best athlete to come out of Waushara County is probably Jared Abbrederis.  At Wautoma High School, he led the team to a state track title. 10.8 in the 100. 49.6 in the 400. 14.3 in the 100 hurdles, 37.9 in the 300 lows. He was one of the National Gatorade Track Athletes of the year winners. He goes to Wisconsin as a walk-on (after an injury in high school probably holds him back from scholarship offers) and develops into an outstanding WR. Gets drafted in the 5th round by the Packers. Injured again. Finally, makes a team and ends up playing a total of 22 games and catches 13 total passes in a 4 year career. I believe the only points he ever scored were a 2 point conversion in the Janis! playoff game.

He's out of football before he's 27 years old. He banked some money away (about 2 million in salary for the years he hung around) and now sells insurance.

A lot of people thought he was the best athlete in the history of Central Wisconsin and he was a fringe roster guy that hung around for 3-4 years. Yes. It's very hard to even make an NFL roster.

Two points. First, if he doesn't get injured, he may have hung around a little longer and run up some more stats. Second, think of the dozens of guys like him that are waiting to go to NFL camps to try to make a team right now that have sacrificed their whole lives to try to be a professional athlete, even if it's only for a season and their chance may be gone.

MichiganPacker2 - "He's out of football before he's 27 years old."

That is his insurance sales pitch eight there.  "If my career can be cut short, so can your life.  You NEED this insurance."  Or words to that effect depending on which insurance he is trying to sell.
