Its kind of amazing how consistently he makes the rong choice.
I think he needs to become opposite George

What I took away from this game was the overall improvement from the previous week on both sides of the ball.
OL was much better, and rush blocking was great. There were some Mack truck-sized holes opened up all game long. Van Lanen had a GREAT game, IMO.
RBs continue to run well.
Love indeed played better, but his bar was so low to start with, that ain't saying a lot. No INTs may be the single biggest improvement.
I didn't get to see the opening drive, and I thought he looked good on the series that produced the TD, but after that he seemed to fall apart. The pass he threw immediately before Davis' fumble was ungodly bad.
WRs still need plenty of work.
Defense was pretty stout, excepting rush defense.
Pass rush generates pressures, but not getting any sacks from that.
It's hard to find faults with LB play. Not perfect by any means, but the difference from previous years is amazing.
Ditto for the DBs. Seeing the depth guys develop brings lots of confidence to the upcoming season.
There were a lot of guys that had outstanding games including McDuffie, Wilborn, Thomas, and Cross.

Scott's shoulder injury.
Just watched the highlites. Ty Summers, That was embarrassing!
What I got from the whole thing last night was this..
Our first team o-line is better than NO second team d-line
Our second string QB is better than NO third string QB
Everything else was really pretty even.

Curious why you say that, phoe.
It looked like a designed play, and he executed the fake to perfection.
Are you thinking it was a botched handoff?

You're just disappointed he didn't go to Iowa.
Also, for all the IC type dipshits out there, 10 plays with twos and three and fours in addition to playing against them.

Hey played as well as could be expected, but he and Barnes are like watching Campbell and Walker on freeze frame. The speed differential is immense.
@RochNyFan posted:Amari Rodgers doesn't seem to have the physical or mental makeup to play at this level. I'd prefer to keep Winfree over him if it came down to the two of them.
The thing I don't like about Winfree is he looks like a guy who is at his ceiling. He's been around a while and only shows up in PS. Do you keep a guy like that vs Amari who may still be developing though possibly not quickly enough? Depends on the attitude of the FO.
Amari Rodgers is a strange one. Looks in much better shape this year, but doesn't do anything above average. He looks the part, but it doesn't translate to the field. I get the feeling he's not a big study guy.
Aaron never mentions him by name and he loves him some Winfree. I think Amari is not only on the bubble, but may be on another roster in the next couple of weeks .
I agree. But young players are on rosters for their potential. Does Amari still have some to tap or is he just never going to get there. GM is a crystal ball business.

Yep. Rodgers sideline interview Friday night, about the young receivers:
"I really like what I'm seeing from Doubs and Juwann; couple other guys need to step up." All but called Amari out.
He played the entire game last week and well into the second half last night, so they are really looking at him hard. Seems like it's now or never.

You know what kids who go to Iowa and Iowa St. have in common?
Neither got into Wisconsin.

What alarms me about Amari most are the mental breakdowns. Athletically, heβs just OK, but his decisions are awful too many times to have confidence heβs not going to lose a game for us. IMO, heβs damaged goods, and should be benched at the very least.
Might as well cut him if you're going to bench him during the preseason.
Practice squad and earn your way back. Someone else signs him so be it.
Maybe they can get a conditional 7th for him, or try to flip him and a 6 to the Eagles for Reagor.

I defended the kid when he was draftedβ¦because no one knows how good or bad kid is gonna be. My assessment has nothing behind it other than what I have seen with my own eyes, and in my own opinion. Never said he wasnβt gonna pan out, just said I havenβt seen it yet.
Iβve given JL props when I felt it was warranted. If thatβs dishonest in your opinion. So be it.
No idea how good the kid will be, but calling him out for bad play on his good play? Ridiculous!

I had not seen his 4th pass in this clip (my stream was cutting out a lot). That is the best throw he's ever made as a Packer that I have seen. That was a "WOW" play. That was an Aaron Rodgers throw. But I'm no MENSA.
Dude, that Toure play was awesome. Well except for the drop part.
The WR's and TE's cost Love at least 100 yards passing last night.

It's OK, we can disagree. Doesn't mean there is an ulterior motive. Lots of people disagree with me about the throw. Lots of people agree with me.
I've defended the kid way more than I've criticized him over the years, if anything because he's a local kid and played at an MWC school.
I judge him on the totality of his performance, not the box score...and I said vs the Saints was his best performance yet as a Packer that I've seen. Hope he continues to progress into the QB we all hope he can be.

There are some very fine people on both sides.
Thus the conundrumβ¦.is he qualified to be a clip board holder, a solid backup, a marginal starter or a guy you can be all in on for a decade? Lots of money involved for the last category, some jobs on the line too.
So far to me he has shown he can be a backup and a marginal starter. He was better but still has a way to go. Quite aways.
I thought Love looked like a pro this week, which was nice after last week's performance.
The back up o-line looked good, Sean Rhyan badly whiffed on a play, otherwise they looked pretty good. Caleb Jones is a very large, nimble human being.
Back up defense looked good.
Winfree catches the ball. Even if he has reached his full potential, that's a quality Amari Rodgers may never develop.
@Johnson posted:I thought Love looked like a pro this week, which was nice after last week's performance.
This is kind of what I saw, heard, and am reading. He looked like an actual pro -he made a lot of good throws as well as a lot of top shelf throws. He looked more in command and calmer in the pocket. Doesn't mean he's ready to be an above average starter right now but it does calm some of the nerves that this guy is another Paxton Lynch. Time will tell though.
On the bright side, nobody's accused Love of acting like Baker Mayfield.
@Johnson posted:Winfree catches the ball. Even if he has reached his full potential, that's a quality Amari Rodgers may never develop.
His hands remind me a lot of pre 2021 MVS. A lot of his catches involve the ball being juggled or bobbled. Always fighting the ball instead of just catching it. The better WR's in the league just catch the ball and secure it. Once it's in their hands the ball is as secure as their gloves.
Amari would be firmly on the roster bubble if the Packers didn't have so much invested in him. Appears quicker than he was last year but overall still underwhelming as a receiver.
Iβm gonna cut Amari some slackβ¦last year he was still recovering from ACL and added weight. He is finally fully recoveredβ¦let him learn some more.

From what I see, I don't think he yet understands the precision necessary for running routes in the NFL. Wonder if he ever will.
