I have it because twin cities radio sucks ass. I don't mind paying $25 a month to be able to listen to whatever music I'm in the mood for. Plus, I can listen to Packers and Bucks games with the hometown call.

Is that the platinum plan? If so, don't you get streaming on your other devices like iphone etc?

I still have it and one of the main reason is football season.  I live in an area that is hit or miss for Packers games so I can always turn on Sirius to get the home town call.  I also get the local commercials which I think is awesome.

I never pay more than $4 a month for it.  Before my year is up and call to cancel and they always keep it that low of a price.

Have it in both vehicles.  have the "big" plan to get all the sports and can listen on my echo at work.

Last time my contract was due I was irritated with the hassling, so I cancelled.  I hated (HATED) listening to regular radio again.  They called me back in a week and I said I was willing to do $4 a month (each car, $8 total) and a 3 year contract.  They agreed.

I have it. I have no idea what I pay. They take it out every month. I need to check that. I like it for several reasons, I love the sports and can listen to the home team of any baseball or football game. There are several pod cast I listen to. Pick any music genre and you are good to go. It like having an old time TV satellite dish except it is any radio you want.

Negotiate with them. They will give you a deal. You can get the Platinum package for $60-$100 for 12 months pretty easy.

NFL Channel 88, Howard Stern and of course all the sports (Channel 811 for Packers) and every genre of music. If you're into politics, lotsa channels available for both sides of the aisle and comedy, weather....it has everything. It's worth it to me. I've had SiriusXM for years! Back when it was just Sirius vs. XM before they merged. I had Sirius.

Merry Christmas!

I got it, just for music.  yes, always negotiate.  paid $73 for the year last time, could have gotten it lower but I was tired of the back and forth - negotiated through online chat.

for me, worth it just for the Grateful Dead channel and all the live music you get to hear that you'd otherwise never hear

I drove a U Haul (moved my daughter) to California this summer and got my fill of I Heart radio!

We are moving our oldest out there after Christmas. I'll spare my family and use the headphones for my daily sports radio fix.

No Spotify users?

Some Spotify "stuff" is available inside the SiriusXM app. A lot of former music folks have moved from Spotify over to SiriusXM. Pandora is inside the SiriusXM app too. Podcasts (like Locked On Packers) are also available inside SiriusXM as well.

Whilst Working for the NYS school system I had a 3/4 ton van to drive around. Local I Heart FM stations all sucked with nothing but opinionated jibber jabbing agenda's all the time. The only show worth listening too also sucked because they always had to get their sponsors promo's in. They would be talking about something halfway interesting and jam Wild will's BBQ Sauces or some other shit right in the middle of an interview. I had some spare XM parts in the garage and was able to install my shop XM radio in the van.

I like the POTUS channel on XM. But one show I like? You guessed it. That bastard Smerconish has to get all of these freaking promo's in. Only show I listen too that does that crap. He'll be interviewing the President of Mexico and have to cut him off to pump up Chuck Norris. Or they'll have the bird brain Cooper Lawerence and her squeaky voice pushing Nature's Blend dog food!

Why do you think I mention in the Packers game threads the Packers being in the [insert sponsor here] red zone?

If you're doing an interview and want to insert " This interview with with Volodymyr Zelensky is brought to you by Fedya's Fruit Cup and Mac Salad Emporium" that's fine. But when you end the same interview short so you can tell everyone how good Chuck Norris looks at 80 by drinking a special morning drink with secret ingredients that's another matter.

There's one thing I don't quite understand about Sirius-Xm radio. They have like a gazillion channels. How does one navigate ALL that content to find what I might like? Say I really enjoy bagpipe music from Scotland, seems it would be next to impossible to find sorting through thousands of channels.

On the dial, its right between " Wham Classics " and the "Maria Carey Christmas Channel."

I can only imagine what Packiderm is going to look like at 80.

One must do some self-reflection if they're rocking out to Scottish bagpipes, no?

Rousing bagpipes can be quite motivational and inspiring! One day I hope the Packers bring in a bunch of bagpipers at the start of a Packer game and at half time. They would put that silly horn in MN to shame.

The Gregorian Chant station is the shizzle.

I'd love a halftime bagpipe show. Maybe figure out a way to integrate that with the Oneida tribe.

Nobody likes a quitter, but I drank in a day how much I now spend a month in subscriptions.  Found out a bunch of it goes to helping sick kids and stuff.  What I heard, anyway.  Fell for the ruse.

Anyone remember the bagpipes scene from "Friends?" It's right up there with "pivaat!" Here's how hard it was for the cast:
