The winner remains in the THICK of the Big Ten Championship race
go BUCKY
Would love for Bucky to crush Izzo.......keeping fingers crossed.
a five point play for Brevin Pretzil 2 for 2 free throws, and then a 3 point jump shot
the kid, with his arm raised, probably getting ready to give Izzo the finger.. looks like he has been drinking Bongers ale all day too.
Bucky up at the half 38-37

It's Wisconsin. Who hasn't been drinking all day?
GOOD ONE
MSU on a 12-0 run to go up 6 and then Happ misses 2 FTs.
Happ with a good move to get back within 4
Happ now 0-4 from the line and they aren't even close.
Happ is 10 for his last 31 from the line.
Happ just scored his 2,000 point as a Badger.
Dang about his horrible free throws...... practice, practice, practice.
What's amazing about Happ is that he scores all his points within 3 feet of the basket and has developed moves that allow him to make baskets without getting to the line. He has taken more than 6 FTs only 4 times all year despite the fact he takes 15-20 contested shots at the rim every game.
Imagine how good he'd be if he could hit 70% from the line and developed moves designed to also draw fouls.

He probably shoots more practice FTs than anyone in Badger history. It's all in his head.

Well then, damn.
Lets hope Gard gets the right guys on the court in these last 2 minutes.
In the second half, the only guys with FGs other than Happ are Reuvers at 19:00 and Kobe King at 9:00. That's it.
Happ is a great college player, but the fact that the avoids contact because he's afraid of shooting FTs makes him a lot less effective late in games. If I was MSU, I'd intentionally foul him every time he touches the ball.
Was sick on Saturday......close game and, ugh, lost.

You can't afford to take Happ out, but you can't afford to let him get fouled.
I think you need Pritzl in on offense.
What a pathetic possession.

Agree and no Iverson on the O end
Good call!
Killer
Can you really be an All-American when you are just awful on the FT line? 0-6 in a 3 point game. 10 for his last 33.
Heβs gotta be sick as well.......I do feel bad for him if it IS in his brain now.

vitamin C, Goldie, pound down the vitamin C.
The team that deserved to win won. You get beat by your weaknesses against good teams. Happ is awful at the FT line - that really affected the game.
five minutes without a stinkin point.
Good MSU D at the end and NO Wisconsin O.
Happ is 8 for 28 from the line in their losses.
0-6 in this game, 1-7 in the loss to Minnesota, 0-1 against Michigan, 3-6 against Purdue, 2-5 against Marquette.
He shot no free throws in 2 other games.
Iβm actually watching the Westminster dog show.......just checking during advertisements.

Gard is in a tough spot, he can't take him off the floor yet he is a detriment in the last minutes of a game.
He needs to get some of the other student athletes in positions to score, he hasn't done that.

Sure wish I knew what was going on here, UW offense goes MIA down the stretch again, 3 points in their last 9 possessions, same exact thing they did against Michigan on Saturday. ugh
Well I guess I can go help Miss Skully shovel the driveway. almost 13 inches of snow today.
final: MSU 67 Bucky 59

They literally have no offensive structure when he's not on the floor. They stand around and dribble on the perimeter and then Trice of Davison takes a contested 3. He's like a mini-Bill Walton in terms of his passing ability and post moves. He's good to great at everything on the college level that doesn't require him to shoot outside of 5 feet.
I don't understand why other teams don't foul him more. He was missing them so badly tonight he could have shot 30 free throws and made about 20% if he was lucky.

The Schipperke is getting screwed....the fix is in.
Happ is a very good college player but he has two enormous holes in his game
1) he canβt make a 10ft+ jump shot
2) he canβt hit free throws
To that extent he creates some issues especially when games are close. If you are an opposing team you have to (and some do) foul him.
ESPN said something that will have to be one of the strangest stats in the history of college basketball if it continues. Happ has not made a bucket outside of the paint the WHOLE season.
I will also add that I thought Trice would be the next good/very good Bucky point guard in the mode of Koenig, Taylor, etc. I was rong it appears.
