So a two year deal Leroy?

i like what i've seen from harris and still believe in green. this draft has some backs that could be nice day 3 sleepers too. if we stick with what we got and maybe bring in a rook i'd fine with that.
I was definitely more impressed with Harris than Green. That said, Green was a 3rd round pick, so they won't give up on him easy. And to be fair to Green, not everyone can come back from a serious injury as easily as Adrian Petersen did.
Bish sez NO!

My opinion on RB situation .. Don't need 1 really... Starks, who ll stay healthy this year will be a beast! D Harris is the truth. Done!

I'd like to have Jackson in GB.

GB already has an AJ. But I'd take the doll in the 40 if there's money on it.

TT will spend his cap space on guys like Rodgers, Matthews, Raji and possibly Jennings. Jackson doesn't fit the future plans.
I still don't think TT will do it... I would.
I don't know if Jackson will be worth his asking price, although I'm not sure what he's asking. I have no idea which 'insider source' to listen to. Kiper's latest Mock has Green Bay taking Lacey at 26.
Polian etal on ESPN were all over the "Jackson is a perfect fit for GB" Polian
went on and on about Jackson's work habits & the positive effect he has on a team.

I saw some Buzz some were that a source in St Louis is reporting that Jackson will sign with the Pack.
I found it:

Source who talked to Rams says Jackson likely will be signing with #Packers.
Perhaps Goaline is right BS

Just because everyone on TimesFour loves this word, I'll use it. Steven Jackson would force other defenses to RESPECT the running game more than they have in the past if he were to sign with the Pack. ![Smiler](http://timesfour.com/x4graemlins/icon_smile.gif)

If Jackson is able to come and do behind this team's crappy OL what he was able to do behind St. Louis's equally crappy OL, it could have a huge impact on the team. Rodgers would take fewer sacks/hits, and the defense would get more time on the sidelines. However, I'm not going to hold my breath on something like this. They may have some cap room now, but a lot of guys are due for new deals next year, and I have no idea what the cap situation looks like in 2014. I'm just another goofball fan with opinions. Ted is the expert here, and I trust he'll make the right move in the end.
(TheHuddle)The Green Bay Packers are scheduled to meet with unrestricted free-agent RB Peyton Hillis (Chiefs).
Analysis: This news casts a bit of doubt on the Steven Jackson-to-Green Bay rumors as the Pack were said to the front-runners to land the services of the former Ram. Hillis, meanwhile, has had one shining season (2010 in Cleveland) flanked by others filled with injuries, a lack of production and question marks.
value play. can't see him demanding too much. or a move to get jackson to bite???

SJax to the Pack?
Early into the morning hours of Wednesday, March 13, 2013, the Green Bay Packers signed former St. Louis Rams running back Steven Jackson. The former Ram had contemplated retirement at one point, but it appears he still has juice left.

Rotoworld's saying otherwise.
quote:Via Rotoworld:
A source tells the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel that the Packers do not appear close to signing free agent Steven Jackson.
The Packers are annually one of the league's most cap-savvy teams. GM Ted Thompson will not help Jackson leverage his price-tag by getting into a bidding war with the Falcons. They have a number they're willing to pay Jackson and will likely stick to it. Jackson got that message when the Packers brought in Peyton Hillis for a visit Tuesday afternoon
quote:Wooooowwww RT @AdamSchefter Former Rams RB Steven Jackson has accepted a 3 year deal with the Packers.

So it appears Adam Schefter tweeted that the Packers signed Steven Jackson and then deleted it. False alarm?
I'll hold off changing this until we get some better confirmation. A 3 year deal however sounded just about right.
If anyone doesn't think Jackson has some juice left in the tank...
Gets ugly around the 3:50 mark. Loved seeing him drive right through Patrick Willis at the end!

I like the idea of the Packers having "a" Steven Jackson only because they don't have any pile-pushers or goal-line plungers. The misdirection hand-off to Kuhn no longer fools anyone.
Still wouldn't solve the three-down RB problem though.

Regarding those plays, Jackson does have nice holes to run through. I hope our O-line can give him something similar.
Watching that first play against GB, I still can't believe the Colts gave Walden $16 million...

Anyone who watches the NFL closely knows SJ is a great player, and has been plagued by playing on a bunch of $htty teams.
IF he signs with Green Bay, and doesn't get over 1,000 yards, it will be a glaring indictment on our OL's ability to run block for anyone and/or MM's "commitment," to the run.
I don't think he'll be the end-all be-all player of all Packers history, but I will be excited if he signs, as I believe we'll be getting one of the top 5 RB in the game in the last 8 years.

BREAKING: The #Packers have signed ex-#STLRams RB Steven Jackson. Sad to see him leave, but he was the steady force for us.
Now the reports are he has signed with the Packer.

If you look at the slo- mo replay ( 59 seconds in) you can see former Packer Scott Wells executing a beautiful combo block, first on the DL and then getting to the LB on the 2nd level. Saturday couldn't do that in 2012
GB OL got better when EDS was inserted
Great signing by the Pack.
With Bush in Detroit, Jackson in G.B., and the Bears making moves, the NFC north gets tougher and tougher.

Agree, Satori. The line did get better with EDS at center. I liked the move to oust Saturday. EDS may not be the most talented guy, but he works hard and has a bit of an edge that I think helps him be better than his physical tools. Hopefully, he'll be even better this year because I'm not sure TT is going to go out and get a starting center this year.

Good work? It's been widely reported since last night that the Packers and Jackson are talking about a 3-year deal. I'll be impressed when one of the Packers beat reporters actually break a story. All they seem to do is confirm what the national guys report.

Yo @AdamSchefter, just tell me that @GregJennings is staying with the Packers and @sj39 is about to wear Green and Gold already! #gopack
I would be interested in the contract number if this is all true.
Until I see something more than twitters I will stick with Goal lineβs thoughts on the subject, its BS
