I was definitely more impressed with Harris than Green. That said, Green was a 3rd round pick, so they won't give up on him easy. And to be fair to Green, not everyone can come back from a serious injury as easily as Adrian Petersen did.
If Jackson is able to come and do behind this team's crappy OL what he was able to do behind St. Louis's equally crappy OL, it could have a huge impact on the team. Rodgers would take fewer sacks/hits, and the defense would get more time on the sidelines. However, I'm not going to hold my breath on something like this. They may have some cap room now, but a lot of guys are due for new deals next year, and I have no idea what the cap situation looks like in 2014. I'm just another goofball fan with opinions. Ted is the expert here, and I trust he'll make the right move in the end.
(TheHuddle)The Green Bay Packers are scheduled to meet with unrestricted free-agent RB Peyton Hillis (Chiefs).

Analysis: This news casts a bit of doubt on the Steven Jackson-to-Green Bay rumors as the Pack were said to the front-runners to land the services of the former Ram. Hillis, meanwhile, has had one shining season (2010 in Cleveland) flanked by others filled with injuries, a lack of production and question marks.

value play. can't see him demanding too much. or a move to get jackson to bite???

Rotoworld's saying otherwise.

A source tells the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel that the Packers do not appear close to signing free agent Steven Jackson.

The Packers are annually one of the league's most cap-savvy teams. GM Ted Thompson will not help Jackson leverage his price-tag by getting into a bidding war with the Falcons. They have a number they're willing to pay Jackson and will likely stick to it. Jackson got that message when the Packers brought in Peyton Hillis for a visit Tuesday afternoon

Gets ugly around the 3:50 mark. Loved seeing him drive right through Patrick Willis at the end!

Anyone who watches the NFL closely knows SJ is a great player, and has been plagued by playing on a bunch of $htty teams.

IF he signs with Green Bay, and doesn't get over 1,000 yards, it will be a glaring indictment on our OL's ability to run block for anyone and/or MM's "commitment," to the run.

I don't think he'll be the end-all be-all player of all Packers history, but I will be excited if he signs, as I believe we'll be getting one of the top 5 RB in the game in the last 8 years.

If you look at the slo- mo replay ( 59 seconds in) you can see former Packer Scott Wells executing a beautiful combo block, first on the DL and then getting to the LB on the 2nd level. Saturday couldn't do that in 2012

GB OL got better when EDS was inserted
Agree, Satori. The line did get better with EDS at center. I liked the move to oust Saturday. EDS may not be the most talented guy, but he works hard and has a bit of an edge that I think helps him be better than his physical tools. Hopefully, he'll be even better this year because I'm not sure TT is going to go out and get a starting center this year.

Good work, Rob. RT @RobDemovsky: Hearing the #Packers and RB Steven Jackson have been talking about a three-year deal. Working on details.

Good work? It's been widely reported since last night that the Packers and Jackson are talking about a 3-year deal. I'll be impressed when one of the Packers beat reporters actually break a story. All they seem to do is confirm what the national guys report.
