BB is playing a different game than the rest of the league. While they're all trying to play chess, he's playing Tetris. Most teams have philosophies of what they want to be or do, then draft, coach and gear schemes around that. That's great, in theory, but relies on two things: Having a QB and stability. Outside of Green Bay and maybe Pittsburgh, what team has that? By the time a front office gets a decent start for building a team for the head coach, they're all fired, rinse and repeat.
BB is great at the cog game, getting oddball pieces to fit where they should while covering their weaknesses. Is Deion Lewis somehow a very good RB that FOUR teams let go? No. BB has the QB and the stability, but he's more flexible than most coaches and his schemes more versatile. While TT/MM are playing the draft & develop game, BB goes after guys like Revis and Browner for a short-term run. Contract's up? Okay, see ya later, scheme shift next year. Again.
Don't get me wrong, Gronk, Collins, Solder and Chandler Jones are tremendous players, but BB's system is seemingly based around shifting rosters while Green Bay's is based on stability and continuity. NFL coaching staffs are a ridiculously conservative bunch, which means nothing in the long run for most because they're going to be axed soon anyway. MM/TT have the advantage of stability to work their mojo, and it pays off. BB is the same, but different. He can and will gamble more on potential greatness because he also has the stability of knowing his flops won't haunt him.
