Who knows who will be playing Guard for the Packers by then. The OL is really a worry now with both starting Guards hurting. Yeah, they can tough it out, but at what level of play.

"This defense is going to have to get better"

things we've been sayin for 4 years now. 8 games in, this is who they are for this year safe to say. The run defense is atrocious and that's not going to change because of the personnel they have this season. They just need to get up on teams early with offense to help mitigate the opponents run game and force them to pass more. Keep creating turnovers. Not the best recipe for success, but that's what they need to do vs the good teams.

Hey, maybe they'll do a reverse 2013 with the run defense (horrible in the first half, great in the second). If we really accept the fact that there's no chance they'll improve, we may as well write the season off now.

Lions 14-2 or 13-3?!?!

Ok

The Packers will probably drop at least two more (3 tops if Rodgers stays healthy, though) the rest of the way, and I can't see the Lions dropping more than that.

Datone Jones has been out for a while and Clay Matthews hasn't been himself this year, both guys could still turn it on (Jones actually looked solid before he went down against the Vikings). Peppers has been solid, but he could still take it up another couple notches. Maybe a light will go on for someone like Mike Pennell or Josh Boyd, too. Having some of those things happen are the ways this defense still could get better. Also, let's try to remember that Burnett and Shields were out in the disaster in New Orleans two weeks ago. The Packers still probably would have lost with them, but they wouldn't have allowed 44 points. I'm just not ready to write the obituary on this season yet. The 2006 Colts had one of the worst run defenses in NFL history, and then in the post season, they were amongst the best in league history. The 2008 Arizona Cardinals had a similar turnaround in the playoffs. They allowed 427 points in the regular season (scored 428, so they were +1 in net points for the regular season), and then they were great in the playoffs. Lots of football left here, guys.

SF is 5-4 with all the injuries and inconsistent play and we all know they can go on the road and win in the playoffs.

Plenty of opportunity for Niner losses down the stretch.  And that means plenty of 'nails' are there.  New Orleans, not so much.  I think the Packers, if it came down to it, would be better suited to play the Niners on the road than the Saints.  Just my opinion.  Lots of football left though.

Agreed.

I am shocked about AZ struggling, didn't realize Palmer got hurt.   That doesn't help us with Detoilet having to go there.... then again, they won without him earlier this year.
