Things are going to get real interesting in PIT.  Some think Mason Rudolph was drafted as the heir apparent.  If they sink, could Tomlin be out.  Replaced by someone with a SB ring who is from PIT?

I don't know how you could fire Tomlin in this situation. Two years ago, they had the best combination of QB, RB, and WR in the league and they've lost all three in a short amount of time for 3 mid-round draft picks next year (a 3rd and a 5th from the Raiders for Brown and a comp pick for Bell).

Belichick offered them a 1st and another pick for Brown but they turned it down and he ended up there anyway.

They have now lost 1 sure HOFer (Big Ben), a likely HOFer in Brown, and a guy who put up more than 1800 total yards from scrimmage 3 times in his first 5 years for nothing. No coach can be expected to win under those circumstances.

I should say that, of course, a lot of this could be karma for the Steelers putting up with very questionable guys for a long time.

From what is publically known, LeVeon Bell doesn't seem like a terrible guy. He's been suspended for smoking pot, but 50% of the league probably does that and it shouldn't be illegal anyway.

Roethlisberger was credibly accused of sexual assault multiple times. At best, he was guilty of incredibly terrible judgement.

Brown is a guy who the more you find out, the weirder he is. He's about 5 years from being broke and/or in jail (or dead). Si.com just posted an article on the stuff he's done in the past few years. Imagine the stuff that's out there that they weren't able to fully corroborate yet.

Of course, Brown may win a Super Bowl with Belichick and Brady. It's just another in a long line of questionable guys that Belichick takes as long as they can help him win. I'm not talking about guys like Randy Moss who was more of a knucklehead than a mean, violent guy. I'm talking about guys like Aaron Hernandez.

There are lesser reasons HC's have been let go.  He's been there a long time and the team hasn't been trending upward for a while, regardless of roster.  If their QB situation devolves and they decide to blow it all up, all the more reason.

So we are 2 weeks into the season and 3 of the top 15 QBs in the league (Luck, Big Ben, and Brees) suffered significant injuries and two of those guys won’t play the rest of the year.

For Brees and the Saints,  they really picked bad timing as they play Seattle and Dallas in their next two games.  With a healthy Brees they probably win one if not both of those games.   They also play Chicago in week 7.  That certainly looks like a loss for the Saints if Brees isn’t back.

Good Qbs mean good games.  I'm in it for the entertainment.  Don't like Ben or Brees but their games will be unwatchable without them.

Why would you want it to happen last year? I'd rather see the NFC field weaker when the Packers actually have a shot to do something.

I had the Saints going to the Super Bowl. Doubt that happens now. I think this thing is going to last more than 6 weeks for Brees.

Packers had their top draft choice last year.

Anyone else think Cam Newton is done?

They may win their division, but they may need home field advantage (or at least be able to play in a domed stadium) more than any team in the league. They'd be OK with a game in Dallas or maybe even LA, but put them in a outdoor game in the cold in January and they are in trouble.

If they had his best long-term interests in mind, they'd shut him down until he was more healthy. The problem is that the backup is an UDFA from last year (Kyle Allen). They'd basically be throwing away the season.

I wasn't comparing the players, just the situations.

Washington/Shanahan did everything in their power to play RG3 when he had no business being on the field on one leg. They didn't give a crap about him or his future; just wanted to win in the worst way.
I was predicting Carolina/Rivera doing the same with Scam. Making him play with injury(ies) in the hopes of winning, with no regard to what it's doing to his body.

Cam is likely Rothlisburger though.  He's a big hoss who can take more licks.  Unlike Rothlisburger, he's running all over the place begging to get smoked.  RG3 was a skinny assed, chicken legged motherfucker who was guaranteed to get wrecked.

I don't necessarily disagree with the statement but Cam is actually built to take a beating.  It's basically a key component of their offense when they run that spread shit.
