Garrett to DET would leave ZSmith out in the cold again!  Detroit is also feeling the squeeze of being so close and not even making it to the NFCC. They may do something just to do something, especially now that they've lost some top assistant coaches, unless their GM has a lot of discipline. If they make a splash and it doesn't pan out, they may slide downward pretty fast.

If Garrett were to land in GB (yeah, I don't think so but fun to speculate), it would free up Gary to do some damage.

As somebody else pointed out, DET's window is as open right now as it's going to get with their current roster.  Some may say it's already closing after losing BJ and others.  They'll get a lot of injured players back and no doubt try to bolster their roster some more this spring.  The biggest question I see them having in getting to a SB is the QB.  I can't help but wonder if they're not looking for a step up.

I agree that their window is open right now, but I also think that it could be very slowly closing as well.  If all of those injured players get back to being what they used to be I would have to put them as the NFC favorites.   But, as we all know when a team has success teams hire away your top coordinators and I think losing them could hurt them.  And as we have discussed before players are going to want to get paid and you can only pay so many with top contracts.

That’s such a tough position when the rest of your roster appears poised and you at least have chemistry. Is Elvis Grbac worth the risk?

Not only that but the balls it would take for the GM/HC to replace a QB that's had the regular season stats Goff has had the last couple years.  As fans it's easy for us to sit back in our couch and scoff at his playoff performance vs WAS and seeing him wilt when pressured.  But the GM/HC know how hard it is to get there in the first place.  You'd have to have incredible confidence in somebody else you could bring in playing better under pressure.  I wonder if Stafford is available!

If Detroit doesn't have the rash of injuries they had, I'm betting they are in the Super Bowl. They lost a legit DPOY candidate in Hutchinson. That alone can change a teams fortunes but they lost a lot of guys.

Still think they should have beaten Washington. Gibbs averaged 7.5 YPC and only carried the ball 14 times. Completely ridiculous. The Jameson Williams reverse pass was one of the dumbest play calls I've seen. I can't wait to see Ben Johnson do stupid stuff like this with the Bears. Not sure they get past the Eagles though.

Can you believe next Monday is a holiday, but not tomorrow? America needs this as a 3 day weekend. How hard would it be to have Presidents day after the Superbowl? Jeeze. The productivity tomorrow is probably pretty low.

They should just combine the Super Bowl with the Presidents Day Monday holiday every year. What's an extra week at this point. Maybe build in another bye week for teams during the regular season?

They've done studies....1 of the biggest calling in sick days is the Monday after the Super Bowl - people either have the day off or call in sick.

From what I understand, they're going to try and make the Super Bowl the day before Presidents Day. It makes perfect sense especially if adding an 18th regular season game.
