Very interesting matchup from a roster building perspective.
One team has generational talent at QB, average support including a great TE on offense and a great D behind him.
The other team has blue chippers up and down the roster on both sides of the ball but limited yet clutch QB they pay peanuts.
If they average out evenly, Reid is the deciding factor.
The only interest I have in this game is that I am going to bet some on it so that may keep me interested. I wonder if you can bet on how many times they show Taylor Swift?
I have seen a few things that Reid could possibly retire after this one. So I wouldn't mind seeing him go out on a good note.

Yeah, there’s no “good guys” in this matchup. 2 teams that are very easy to dislike. I came into this year semi-liking the Chiefs, but I’m tired of them sort of like watching the Patriots got tiring.
Brock Purdy seems like a decent enough guy, but it’s sickening just how damn lucky he was in both playoff games. I think his luck runs out trying to keep pace with Mahomes.
It'll depend if SF has another doldrums. They can score a lot quickly when they're clicking. But as much as BAL shut down SF in WK17?, KC's D will be just as tough. DET and GB showed how to have success vs. SF D. Unless they come out with their hair on fire it seems to be KC's game to lose.

Not completely sure yet probably will do a parley of some sort. I am still not even sure if I am interested enough to even do that.
As for the game I do think that KC will win and they will easily beat SF. SF has been playing a game of f**k around and find out and have been lucky to win when the other teams makes errors. KC is better and most of the time doesn't make those mistakes.
Packiderm, not only will livers shrivel but they will need to get their stomachs pumped if shots are taken every time Swift is shown.
You have to credit KC's front office for recognizing the fact that if they couldn't give their QB enough top receivers, they had to back him up with a really good D. They may have learned that from both NEP/Brady and GB/AR.

Brock Purdy is Rich Gannon born 30 years later. Gannon looked really good when he was throwing to Jerry Rice and Tim Brown when he won an MVP with the Raiders and good when he was throwing to Cris Carter and Anthony Carter with the Vikings.
Just like Gannon, Purdy typically doesn't make bad mistakes and can read defenses well. He's very similar to Jimmy G, except that Purdy takes up 0.36% of their salary cap this year and Jimmy G was taking up about 14% of their cap when they made the Super Bowl 4 years ago.
What will be interesting is when Purdy approaches free agency in two years, what the Niners do with him. He's going to want at least Daniel Jones money (40 million) instead of having a 1 million dollar cap hit right now, but there are probably 20 QBs that could replace Purdy right now and do just as well.

And invest in OL. A superstar QB like Mahomes with a good OL and below average WRs is better than with a poor OL and great WRs.
Tyreke Hill is a HOF WR. But the Chiefs decided they rather have a very good RT (Jawaan Taylor) at a 25 million cap hit and a very good guard (Joe Thuney) at a 13 million cap hit than a HOF WR at a 32 million dollar cap hit.
Which takes things back to the differences between how SF and KC built their rosters.

It could get interesting sooner if Purdy flops in the SB and ends up being the biggest reason SF loses. Say he plays the same way he did vs GB and DET but is unable to bring SF back at the end. If that were to happen, I'm not sure Lynch/Shannahan don't look to upgrade this offseason. Purdy had to pull victory from the jaws of defeat in both playoff games, largely because of his struggles. It seems commonly agreed among media that he has not played well in the playoffs. You might see them do the same thing McVay did with Goff/Stafford.
Their window is wide open but it will shut soon once they have to start paying more to their stars.
Purdy is like a lot of QBs....he looks good when he isn't pressured. SF's o-line isn't playing as well as year's past. Furthermore, neither is their d-line, losing the LOS for the majority of the past two games is the major reason why they easily could have lost both.
Purdy is Trent Dilfer with a weaker arm. You hope your loaded roster can mask his limitations so all he has to do is not screw it up, which he's not that likely to do when playng with a lead or close.

As of Monday, the Feb. 11 game is the most expensive Super Bowl on record, according to TickPick. The average price is hovering around $9,800, which is 70% more expensive than last year's big game. The most expensive ticket is a suite at the 30-35-yard line for $62,472.
That's literally 2 or possibly 3 extravagant trips to Cancun for me. Going all out too!

If the Niners get the lead...it will be interesting game. Probably go under 47.5.... If chiefs get the lead by 2 or 3 possessions, I think it's going over.
It seems to me if Chiefs just keep same defensive game plan they had vs Baltimore, keep Purdy from escaping and using his legs...the Niners will be in trouble in this game.

Oh hell yes I would go to Cancun in a heart beat over a corporate feel football game. I would take my wife on 2-3 trips down there and I could live like a king for that kind of money.
Honestly for me I enjoy the Super Bowl less and less every year and I definitely wouldn't spend that amount of money to see it. Honestly though If the Packers made it I would be very tempted to go.

Niners were able to play from behind, and win, because they were facing defenses from DET and GB. I can't see KC folding the same way in that scenario.
The most interesting thing to me about this game is seeing how SF's D handles the first half. Why were they so "easy" to score on in the first halves of their games vs GB and DET? Did they have the wrong scheme tee'd up and were outdone by their counterparts or were the players just not focused until they fell behind?
It will be a tight game if SF can keep from falling behind early.
Detroit ran exact same play Packers did to open game vs. SF.
It's no secret. The blueprint is out....now you just need a closer ....KC knows how to close. If KC gets the lead SF is in deep trouble
I don't know that it's any kind of blueprint. The only adjustments I've read about in the SF/DET game was the D was playing zone in first half and changed to more man in the second. I don't know what happened vs. GB.

SF d front started to win more in the second half, especially on our right side.
Man, I couldn't wait for this show to come on when I was a kid.
