Impossible. We all know Dr. McKenzie forces players to play with serious injuries. Bennett was the whistleblower who made us aware of this. Sad!
Mixed emotions, potential outcomes, etc. On one hand, it would be fitting to have them announce AR's return on 12/12, and it would make the final three weeks very interesting (at least until they lose...IF they lose). On the other hand, I would not be at all surprised if they don't let him play. We all know that McKenzie and his staff are very conservative. But if that is the case, this entire run--and the excitement of these past couple wins and getting him back for an improbable playoff run--was really for nothing.
Dr Pat: "Good news and bad news Aaron!"
Aaron: "Ok, tell me the good news first"
Dr Pat: "Your operation was a success!"
Aaron: "Yes! Now what's the bad news?"
Dr. Pat: "Capers sucks."
#Packers QB Aaron Rodgers wants to play very, very badly. Other more medically conservative voices are weighing in with caution and questions about risk vs. rewardhttps://t.co/ylsyqNOZ65

No, no, no, don’t let him play......wha’da’ya think’s going to happen the first play time Aaron goes back to throw??? J. Peppers will try to kill him. Nope, sit and come back next year. JMHO.
With the injury to Wentz, it appears that the NFC is again wide open. I realize it would be tough to win the remaining three, but if we do, I like our chances entering the playoffs with Rodgers and a five-game win streak.

DISAGREE.
If AR is cleared to play AR should play. to me, it's that simple.
I hate to think of these guys in this way, but what effects would reinjury have long term?

I agree. In another thread I said the Packers' chances to win the Super Bowl this season even with Rodgers is about 1%. After thinking about it for a couple days, I can say "I was RONG". The chances are definitely better than 1% assuming they have enough luck to actually get in. I have never seen the NFL as mediocre as it is this year and the Wentz injury has something to do with that among other things. Normally, I'd say a team with a defense as shaky as the Packers would have no chance, but this year, the field is weak enough that they at least have a chance if Rodgers can quickly regain his high level of play.
If they can win at Carolina, then things start to look much better. They still need some help, but make your own luck by winning the next 3.
If he's 80% or better, let AR make the call. He's smart enough to protect himself from most of the hits he'd be likely to take.
If they don't, the fallout from keeping him out could be palpable when it comes to contract extension talks.
If he want to play, he plays.
He should play if medically cleared to.
I think more accurately is that he will play - not should play - if medically cleared to.

THIS is why I so badly wanted the Packers to beat the Browns.

Agree entirely, especially section I bolded.
More than ever this year's playoffs are going to be about the elite playmakers making plays. And we have the best.
Maybe if we kneel they will let him play?
Julius Peppers is not a dirty player.

WUT??
This is a fun week.
Per Rap, the surgery "was a success", meaning he's at the target of 80 percent or better. So, I don't believe that's the issue.
It's more so, is playing at less then 100 worth it considering the teams record, the state of the defense, and the up hill battle they have to win 3 straight against 3 playoff caliber teams?
We already know Rodgers answer. It's a matter of convincing the others at 1265.
They hold him out against his will that rift don't get healed. HE is the Packers.

Didn’t SAY he was, but what are they taught since peewee league, if you know the QB is wounded, go for the kill, the take out, get rid of him.
They've had two months to evaluate their approach to this situation, and you're telling me that they now have to take it down to the wire because they are uncertain? I don't buy it. They know what they intend to do. This delay is a means of gaining an advantage. Regardless of which way they are going, the more time the Panthers have to spend preparing for two QBs, the better.
I'm having flashbacks to 2013. While Rodgers eventually returned in the last week, there was talk of him being able to return earlier, but they decided against doing so...and against his wishes at that time.
A decision is expected to be made tonight. https://t.co/pec7eBVdKr

Impress? I wouldn't say that. Managed to keep the team from being eliminated by a 0-12 Cleveland team would be putting it more appropriately.

I'm so sick of the chatter this week on the idiot box about Hundley "impressing" in the last two games and being "resilient."
MM constantly tells everyone he's his guy because he performs so well in practice. Of course he does, he's playing against Dom's "defense." He probably looks like a first balot hall-of-famer Tuesday through Saturday.

With Hundley, MM's quarterback room is actually a panic room.

We can beat Carolina with Hundley. 😉

I'm sick of you people. What the Packers have managed to do without 12 is pretty amazing to me. Hundley has done precisely what a back up quarterback should do, he held serve. Let's see where the Eagles' season ends now.
Did you lose a bet or something? You've been saying the season's over now since about 8 seconds after he got hurt, and that there's no chance he's coming back this year.
What a cesspool of negativity this place has become. Posters are now just spewing out things that are blatantly not true and not even being challenged.
Excuse me, I've been saying what? Apparently you are not referring to my posts specifically, but are instead talking about a broader "you" group of posters.
E.g.,
NumberThree posted:I've said it a dozen times that it is too early to count this team out in the NFC this year.If Rodgers is able to come back in Week 15 the Packers only need to squeak out 2-3 wins with Hundley.
Look at the schedule.
NumberThree posted:
2. 9-7 may win the division, 10-6 will make the Playoffs. If Rodgers can throw in Week 6 of recovery and be back for the Panthers, Vikings, and Lions then we only need to squeak out at least 2-3 wins until then. We get the Brown, Bucs, Ravens, Bears before Week 15. We went 2-4 without Rodgers last time and made the Playoffs in Week 17 in 2013.
NumberThree posted:Here's our remaining games, of which we realistically need 6 to contend for a Playoffs spot:
Saints
Lions (W)
@Bears (W)
Ravens (W)
@Steelers
Buccaneers (W)
@Browns (W)
@Panthers
Vikings
@Lions
I think after the Saints we can back-to-back-back as Hundley will find his stride. He's a talented kid and I don't take last Sunday's "quick get in there and save the day" as indicative of how he can play with full week-in/week-out preparation with the first team and a game plan revolving around his strengths.
After the bye this team can hopefully be healthy and take out the Buccaneers and Browns getting us to five. Then it's all down to Weeks 16 and 17 winner take all. Win against either the Vikings or Lions to get in.
Hopefully Rodgers heals up. It's his throwing shoulder so I wouldn't be surprised if we don't see him, at the earliest, until Week 16 or 17--if at all. My guess is he's going to do everything in his power to get back by Week 16 to get his revenge and throw 5 TDs for 400 yards.
Go Pack Go!
Please stop "spewing out things that are blatantly not true" because I'm going to challenge them with what I have actually said, which is the following: 1) the Packers can make the Playoffs if we can get Rodgers back by Week 15 and finish 10-6; and 2) Hundley is terrible.
Hundley has not done precisely what a backup quarterback should. For examples of what backup quarterbacks should do please see Garoppolo for the Patriots (at the time) and Keenam this year.
I've said from day one of the injury after I left U.S. Bank Stadium that he would and should come back if the Packers could win enough games while he was out to make a Playoffs run. I later posted that the Packers needed to win at least three games by Week 15 to make Rodgers coming back a reality; otherwise, it would make sense to bench him.
But what you are doing is ignoring the real issue right now, Hundley is terrible and doesn't have it. Nobody denies that, and those that do have no retort to his tapes that show he has no pocket awareness, time management, down field consistent accuracy, offensive leadership, etc. He also jumps when he throws and is only able to get the ball down field by throwing a rainbow. I had faith in Hundley, but that kid turned out not to have it... and that's okay.
